Good morning. The house is singing in the wind today smile

Good morning Mick and all. Earlier the sky was a pretty pale yellow, but has now settled to a quiet grey. The sort that will remain, but the cloud cover has given an extra blanket of warmth around the place.

Good Morning I haven't looked out at eth weather yet. I will take what comes! There is not a lot else I can do.

Good morning all. Coastal flooding predicted in the middle of today day and tomorrow - 30 year high. So thoughts go out to any members living on low lying coastal areas on east and some west coasts. If this is you, get off Gransnet and check with the Environment Agency now - they are recommending evacuation in some areas and they don't do this lightly. sad

Morning all. Pretty pink streaked sky here in the East Midlands. For once I'm glad we live in the boring middle although it is still quite windy here.

Today, I'm taking my lovely cleaner over to DS1's flat to give it a good clean - with his permission!

Then Sainsbury's again!! This afternoon I am babysitting DD3's two under 2s. Then I think I'll have wine

Enjoy your days, whatever you are doing.

Tall, healthy-looking gum tree down in the garden, taking the climbing frame with it. Rotten old cherry tree still standing. So far.

I'll be having fun with my camera when it's light enough.

Good morning, I can just about see the trees blowing about in the gloom, I hate these dark mornings.
When I hung out of the bedroom window, (my weather check) at least it seemed quite mild.

Nothing much planned today as I've been feeling a bit tired and I don't want to overdo it. That's my story and I'm sticking to it!

Overnight frost but lovely sunrise. Still on a high from singing in our choir concert last night. I love Christmas carols and songs. The church was freezing but the applause was warm.

PRINTMISS Thu 05-Dec-13 08:24:05

Good morning, bright and cold at the moment, wind and all that comes with it promised later in the day. Had a lovely meal out with the ladies of the bowls club yesterday, back to normal today. Enjoy your days

Kiora Thu 05-Dec-13 08:24:50

Morning mick. & all weather frosty but No wind in this part of Kent ..yet. Kitty what a lovely mum, your son must be thrilled. Gagagran your post warmed the cockles. That really sounds like Christmas I love carols but only for listening I can't raise a note.

Brilliant red sky this morning and the wind is filling in fast. Not a day to be near the coast - at least not our coast - and certainly nowhere near the edge!

annodomini Thu 05-Dec-13 08:36:47

Trees tossing but nothing too serious so far.

Agus Thu 05-Dec-13 08:42:41

30 mph winds here. Woke up wondering where the whistling was coming from. Fortunately, no damage. Yet!

Flowerofthewest Thu 05-Dec-13 08:49:27

wind wind wind and more wind

glassortwo Thu 05-Dec-13 08:54:32

Very windy here in the North East.
I am pleased the DGC are still ill and off school so we dont have to brave it on the school run, being on the top of a hill is geat when it floods but not in the wind.

Brendawymms Thu 05-Dec-13 08:55:56

Good morning all from East Sussex. Dry, frosty and calm. The sunrise this morning was wonderful colours. With the windmill opposite against the colours it was magical.
Had the porridge, with golden syrup and now the dog is asleep across me. Think I will stay here.
Hope all in danger today from the wind and waves come through safely. flowers

Sook Thu 05-Dec-13 09:15:49

A hang on to your hat start to the morning in my corner of Cheshire. The sunrise was lovely here too.

I've had my porridge too Brenda topped with banana, cherries and pumpkin seeds yum yum. My hounds have taken over the sofas and are desperately trying to look invisible.

Day off from DGD duties today blisssssss.

Horrible conditions here in south Lanarkshire. It was like wacky races avoiding the fallen trees on the way to work. Got here before the road could be closed. The town is alive with the sound of sirens, several emergency vehicles blue-lighted through the High Street already.

Brendawymms Thu 05-Dec-13 09:23:25

Keep safe baubles

annodomini Thu 05-Dec-13 09:28:20

The trees are tossing quite wildly now and it's still very dark. News from Scotland sounds scary - reminiscent of the big storm in January 1968.

newist Thu 05-Dec-13 10:13:21

Good morning from a very windy Hebrides, what a night we have had !!!!

Oldgreymare Thu 05-Dec-13 10:24:22

Good morning and stay safe all in the path of the 'winter storm'.
Quite quiet here in Somerset, don't think it is the lull before the storm as is is not predicted to get this far South.

Galen Thu 05-Dec-13 10:27:23

Quite windy here OGM whistling down the channel.
Duvet day for me, I'm nursing a cold.

Galen Thu 05-Dec-13 10:29:18

Wasn't it this time of year when the Ellen Vannen sank and the Tay bridge disaster?
