Just read a thread where the OP has a problem, and people are giving really good, kindly advice.

Restores yer faith a bit. smile

We, and I think I can speak for all of us here, are absolutely fabulous. We deserve many pats on the back and shakes of the hands. Gather round GN's for one huge group hug.

Not been here long, but what a nice crewe you all are x

absent Sun 03-Aug-14 01:50:46

Some are all of the time, some are most of the time, some are occasionally, and some aren't. It's like life.

ginny Sun 03-Aug-14 09:41:29

Quite agree absent. There are one or two I wouldn't want to tangle with though. grin

We are a lovely bunch and the rest of you have been brilliant through my recent problems and I'm sure you will be next time too! Thank you allflowers

glammanana Sun 03-Aug-14 11:05:12

I think we are all fabulous and caring when anyone has a problem and that we jog along very well with just a few little hiccup's on the way.grin but life and I wouldn't want it any other way. flowers to us all x

Pittcity Sun 03-Aug-14 11:16:14

We all have an endless supply of wine and flowers and virtual hugs smile

Silverfish Sun 03-Aug-14 11:24:42

Sorry I don't like to be called 'nice', sounds sarcastic.
I too have had some welcome advice on these posts and always say thank you to those giving advice, but surely we are here for stimulated debate, that's why I sometimes give honest opinions which are not always liked by some but I respect honesty.
So give me an angry debate any day to shake up the brain cells than nicey nice

Nonu Sun 03-Aug-14 11:26:58

Well this is your lucky day then Silver, I am sure there will be along to settle your hearts desire !
grin

HollyDaze Sun 03-Aug-14 11:33:35

I think absent has summed it up the best - a true reflection of life.

Silverfish Sun 03-Aug-14 11:34:07

Bring it on, Im tired of the boredom on these posts sometimes.

hildajenniJ Sun 03-Aug-14 11:41:49

I don't mind being called nice, during my lfe and career I've been called a lot worse. I find all you Gransnetters wonderful people and add my comments and advice where I think it's appropriate and useful. I often have a chuckle at what is going on. You brighten my day. Happy Sunday everyone. smile

Silverfish Sun 03-Aug-14 11:54:07

Happy day everyone too, not so happy for me as FIL died on Friday but it was a release as he was very ill.
I don't like being called nice as its such a bland word at school we were penalised for using 'nice' in essays, teachers said it showed lack of imagination.
Would rather be called confrontational/aggressive/gobby etc (but with a heart of gold). maybe I should change name to goldfish.

ninathenana Sun 03-Aug-14 11:59:12

My English teacher instilled in us 'there is always a better word to use than nice' I do try to avoid the word but would rather be called that than nasty smile
I agree with absent.

ninathenana Sun 03-Aug-14 12:01:03

Condolences silverfish

kittylester Sun 03-Aug-14 12:03:31

I can see using nice in essays etc shows lack of imagination but I am flattered to be called nice and I would hate to be called confrontational or any of your choices silverfish.

I'm sorry to here about your fil and, even if it was a release, someone's presence is always missed flowers

Silverfish Sun 03-Aug-14 12:03:39

Thank you Ninathenana. x

Silverfish Sun 03-Aug-14 12:04:42

thank you kitty, didn't think anyone would be kind to me today

HollyDaze Sun 03-Aug-14 12:08:58

My condolences too Silverfish flowers

Nonu Sun 03-Aug-14 12:17:31

Sorry for your loss Silver, is there a MIL? if so how is she taking it?

Why wouldn't anyone be nice to you?

You are ALRIGHT!!

smile]

Silverfish Sun 03-Aug-14 12:26:25

Thank you all for your kind words, MIL died 3 years ago with cancer and he nursed her through it, she rapidly declined but he has gone so quickly, 6 weeks ago he was fine. He has 3 family left and 5 grandkids I haven't seen them yet just talked on phone so I can only imagine they will be in a state.

Silverfish Sun 03-Aug-14 12:29:07

Ok, you are all nice, I don't like that word but it sums up a lot that other words don't.
We all have different facets to our personality, we can all be 'nice' and otherwise, that's what makes the world the way it is. Be a funny old world if we were all the same. x

jinglbellsfrocks Sun 03-Aug-14 13:02:44

Sometimes a bit of pleasant boredom on the posts is, well - nice.

smile and [hug] for the little silver one. grin
