Fisheries - no place for a woman!

Having spent most of my working life in a predominantly, frequently entirely, male environment, bar me. I really cannot see the problem. Women where no women have been before are excellent at making those with fixed views unfix them and at asking the 'Emperor's New Clothes' questions.

Anyway I found after a few meetings where I showed that I could hold my own against my male peers, they soon 'forgot' I was female and just treated me as a member of the group.

I have never held with this 'acting like one of the boys' nonsense. I was myself and it was surprising how fast the engineers I worked with got used to it.

Maybe Mr. Doran will not be on Harriet Harpersons Xmas card list any longer.

Will she mention it?

Quite apart from the obvious sexism, it is such a stupid remark given that MPs are appointed to head ministries without the slightest knowledge of or experience in the relevant field. Just look at George Osborne.

Presumably when the prime minister was a woman she was in charge of the minister for fisheries.

I think the Honourable Lady referred to knows as much about fishing as him and as the next man.

I doubt any of the recent Honourable Gentlemen PMs have ever worked in any of the industries they have had control over.
