I'm posting this because I generally post really gloomy stuff about my mother, the idiot etc.

I've posted about my 'oldest' friend on here and talked about her lymphoma, her reaction to the treatment and her subsequent/consequent shingles!!

She is feeling quite depressed at the moment because, for various health issues relating to her DH, they will not be seeing either of her sons or her one DGC over Christmas.

I've just answered the door to her DH who presented me with a beautiful poinsettia and a plate of fabulous home made cakes 'just for me' as they are gluten free.

How lovely of her to think of me when she is so fed up. And I can't have a flipping cake as I am off to see the hygienist in a minute! tchsad

I love hearing about or experiencing random acts of kindness tchsmile

I stopped one yesterday on the train being ruined! - a group of 4 young women got on the train and were looking for a place to sit together, happily chatting away. An elderly man with a walking stick picked up on this and kindly moved so that they could all sit together tchgrin. However, their smiles soon waned because an old woman sitting opposite them took it upon herself to say to them "Well, that was rather cheeky of you!" They looked surprised and one hesitantly said "Excuse me ...?" Which was when I piped up(couldn't help myself) and said to her "There was no cheek going on here, all I saw was an act of kindness!" Sour old cow woman harrumphed and looked out the window whilst the rest of us were all smiles again!

Kitty what a heartwarming experience. People in our lives who can look beyond their immediate situations to more than consider others in their lives are a priceless treasure to behold. My best friend is like this, and she has been a motivating source for better behaviour from me in the 26yrs. I've known her. How lovely. Thank you for sharing this with me. flowers
Gk Well diffused with kind words. flowers for you too. Both posts have warmed my heart.

How lovely, Kitty and I wouldn't mind betting such a kind gesture has lifted your friend's spirits because she'll know how delighted you are. tchsmile
