The words rip off spring to mind. DH could make these for a tenth of the price.

You didn't blue the link smile

Ana Mon 12-Oct-15 11:53:47

It's blue on my PC. Those prices are ridiculous - and I think that coffee table for £415 is ugly!

MiniMouse Mon 12-Oct-15 11:58:13

Looks like an orange box with legs! Think I'll get one of my GCs to knock up a few with their plastic diy kits and flog them on 'a well known auction site'!!

Elegran Mon 12-Oct-15 11:59:05

"Reclaimed pallet timber" - that is full of splinters. I'm not sitting on that.

Coarse-looking banged-together furniture seems all the rage. The skill of making real things takes too long to learn - let's all hammer a few nails into some cracked planks and charge hundreds for it. Bandwagon marketing.

Indinana Mon 12-Oct-15 12:04:07

How ridiculous. Still, if people are daft enough to buy them...

Luckygirl Mon 12-Oct-15 12:10:17

One born every minute! - they must think they will sell.

ninathenana Mon 12-Oct-15 13:25:31

It's blue now confused
OMG ! Ridiculous price, I wouldn't give them house room. They look like they're made from old pallets.
I didn't read the reclaimed pallet timber but that was my immediate thought.

This week's special offer: I'll make you one for £120. smile

Coolgran65 Mon 12-Oct-15 13:38:16

Pallet timber is rubbish quality. Even when smoothed of rough bits and splinters.
Going rustic is all very well but I agree with pp....any of us could knock this up without difficulty.

ninathenana Mon 12-Oct-15 15:17:21

How very odd, came back to show DH and the link has changed to not blue again. On both desk top and mobile confused

Stool made by local chap after seeing the ad. I'd buy his first!!!

annodomini Mon 12-Oct-15 16:36:33

As a student I improvised a very useful bookcase out of an orange box lined with 'sticky back plastic'. It didn't look any worse than the stools in the ad.

loopylou Mon 12-Oct-15 16:41:51

I guess some mug people with more money than sense will think they've got a bargain / future heirloom/ the latest fad.

Katek Mon 12-Oct-15 16:44:58

My student bookcase consisted of 4 house bricks and a contiboard shelf. You could easily add further shelves as needed.

MiniMouse Mon 12-Oct-15 17:25:43

This has reminded me of the first house we bought, which had a 'fitted wardrobe'. When we moved in (to the house, not the wardrobe) we opened the wardrobe door and discovered that the wardrobe was made from orange boxes and some of them still had their labels on! shock

Puts me in mind of the Harry Enfield sketch "I Saw You Coming" in which he sells a lot of tat at ridiculous prices to some fawning overly grateful individual, convinced they have bagged a wonderful bargain.

crun Tue 13-Oct-15 17:57:13

I Saw You Coming smile
