Day 2 of looking after sick dgs. Which fiend put the music on the animal train......?!? I'm hearing it even when it's not on! I've also discovered that there are 64 books in the Thomas collection and dgs has a boxed set. Have to sort out my various train voices but I do a mean Fat Controller! (Secretly love it all really)
Dgs has progressed to rice cakes so think he's feeling bit better.

Thanks a lot, Katek. I've now got Come Aboard the Animal Train playing on a loop in my head, and the train hasn't been switched on for a month. grin

Oops .... sorry Maggie, but it's strangely comforting to know there's a fellow sufferer out there! grin

grin oh that made me chuckle.

I know what you mean. We had DGS3 yesterday who insisted on singing Jingle Bells on and off all day - I swear it was in my dreams last night and even now I find myself humming little snatches off it !!

DGS had the Animal train and loved it. Unfortunately it occasional switched itself on when no one was in the room, scary or what!

What is it with Jingle bells, DGS has been singing it for months now. Mainly in French which is not too bad but I cannot get the Dutch version out of my head.
Then he gets me to sing it in English AAAARRRRHHHHH.

Yes, Pippa, ours gets switched off mysteriously too, and often goes missing, to be found weeks later at the very bottom of the toy box where I've buried it

We had a bouncy chair for our DGD which played a variation of Twinkle Twinkle Little Star. It was the standard tune until the penultimate line, where it inserted a little 'twiddly bit'. Irritated the hell out of me, to the point where I had to simply stop turning the music on!

In fact, on the subject of Twinkle Twinkle, why on earth is that particular tune so ubiquitous in baby toys? There is so much choice of nursery rhymes, never mind all the wonderful classical music out there. But no, it's Twinkle Twinkle all the way. My DD now won't buy anything for her little girl if the tune is Twinkle Twinkle!

Think the batteries sometimes erm....fall out of this one completely by accident. They may be 'disappeared' today. But hang on....there's the little piano, and the baby's VTech play table...and the ride on.....! Why is everything so noisy! Off to find some PlayDoh.

Katek that's our solution too.By some strange coincidence it happened to the police car which had very effective 'blues and twos"

It never fails to amuse when the batteries run down and all the jolly toys start groaning and squealing like a scene from Dawn of the Dead.

Felice your situation is even worse than mine then !! {wine]

MY husband tells a christmas tale of the year he got a drum from a well meaning relative. By Boxing Day his Mum had persuaded him there were sweets inside and opened it with a tin opener - goodbye drum !!!
