Tomorrow will be my granddaughter's birthday, so last Sunday she shared a big party.
It seemed all was sorted before my son went off, so I expected my daughter-in-law to be Ok.
On Friday morning I noticed that the firm which my son works for was obviously very busy.
As you may have read that I am here for when my granddaughter returns from school until my DL returns.
When she returned I heard her speak on the phone and answered,
'So you will talk later?'
As my son often phones around that time and being his daughter's birthday party on Sunday, I asked her if that was my son?
She agreed.
To cut the story short, a few hours later she phoned to say that Nick was back. So I thought I'd have to put on Skype. But no he had come all the way back from northwest Africa just so that he could be with his duaghter.
It was such a wonderful surprise, but he returned today, getting back at midnight, poor chap.

DD's best friend was working in the USA when she met a nice young man. They became very close but she had to leave him for a few days to come back to England to visit her family. One day there was a knock on the door and her mother asked her to see who it was. It was her American who had flown over to propose to her while all her family were hanging out of the windows watching grin All her family had been in on the secret but she had no idea at all.

Well she's kept him for about 10 years so far and they've got two gorgeous little girls.
