There are so many wonderful helpful forums for grans on this site, from just ordinary queries to serious worries. I know in general men do not talk to one another about personal problems, but I wonder if they would use a site like this as they would be anonymous. There must be men who are lonely and have worries and maybe they don't realise that others have much the same worries and concerns. Even if they could discuss gardening and hobbies and retirement etc. Just a thought that came to me today

There are several gentlemen on Gransnet some reveal themselves (!) and some don't but all are welcome.

Its a shame the name Gransnet implies its for Grans only, if it said Grandparentsnet it sounds clumsy but more accurate to me. As Teetime says there some Grandads here.

Sadly a few have been hounded off. Only the brave or foolish or anonymous survive.

I'm not even a parent, never mind a gran and I have (almost) always felt welcome. I think the term Gransnet is just shorthand for, shall we say, more mature people. I agree the term may put off some men but I would hope they would take a look and see that we don't bite (at least most of us don't!)

You could try www.fiftyplusforum.co.uk

Lots of men there. And lots of different interests. Rarely grandchildren though :-)
