Definitely needs a nice anonymous forum, this! My daughter-in-law is pregnant! 11 years married to my DS, both very workaholic career people, she's now 42. I knew they had tried and it hadn't happened, but I had thought that was it, no children for them. She's just coming up to 12 weeks and they haven't told anyone other than us yet, so I can only share on here. Now I am so, so happy for them, and just very anxious that nothing goes wrong. Thank you, you may now clap.

Excellent news, both for them and for you. I am sure she will be well looked after and have a healthy baby at the end of it.

Congratulations! Just me, but I had my daughter at 41, with no problems during pregnancy other than the usual morning sickness. Good luck to you all!

Wonderful news. No wonder you want to share it.

Congratulations! My sil had her last baby at 46, a healthy 10lb boy. I'm sure all will be well.

Congratulations!

Thank you all so much. I have a big beaming smile at the moment. No, not my first DGC, my DD has 2 wonderful children, but that in itself has created some problems because we inevitably see more of her side of the family with babysitting etc. Both my son and my daughter live a couple of hours away, in different directions.

Icyalittle Sat 02-Sep-17 10:54:26

Wow, Katek, that is really something with your SiL. devongirl thanks for that reassurance. My ddil is stick thin and doesn't eat properly imho, plus has a blood-clotting disorder, but I am sure her medical people will look after her and give her all the good advice and care she could need. I'm so glad to be able to tell you all!

Excellent news! Many congratulations to the parents to be. Our oldest friends were in their early forties when they produced their first child after many years of trying and then giving up! They went on to have two lovely sons.

What lovely news, makes me feel quite weepy for them! (In a good way!)

lemongrove Sat 02-Sep-17 11:48:31

This often seems to happen, just when couples give up the idea of children and relax, it happens! What lovely news for them and for you.?

Nanabilly Sat 02-Sep-17 11:54:41

How exciting!
Congratulations to one and all.
My dil had a baby at 47 and had the best care .Extra clinic appointments due to her age and extra tests carried out so don't be worried if she always seems to be going to clinic.
