DH and I don’t buy each other many gifts as we have got to a stage in life where there is little that we need/want, however as it was our anniversary I pushed the boat out and bought him a quarter of coconut ice ? which he is already chomping into.

I have to admit I also bought myself a quarter of mint toffees, only to suck as I don’t want any fillings to come out.

What would you choose from the sweet shop, especially if I told you they were calorie free ?

Just about anything! But top of the list would be toffee éclairs. Yummy!

We have an old fashioned sweet shop that also sells sugar free sucking sweets and no added sugar chocolate . OH buys rhubarb and custard sweets and bananas and shrimps.

Chocolate Brazils. You could wake me in the dead of night and I'd eat them!

Coconut ice - my favourite - I excuse my addiction on the grounds that it is a good laxative - purely medicinal consumption of course.

Midget Gems! Always asks for extra of the black ones as the shopkeeper says not many people like them .

Grandma2213 Tue 24-Oct-17 02:47:52

Licorice, especially the swirls with the sweet in the middle that has the coloured speckles and which I would always save till last. (Excuse the poor grammar/sentence construction!)

Anything coconut is disgusting!!

Greyduster Tue 24-Oct-17 06:40:14

Rum truffles! Love ‘em! And liquorice allsorts. The thought of coconut ice makes me very nostalgic. My father used to buy a quarter for me on his way home if he had been working on a Saturday morning, and we would share it!

Nana3 Tue 24-Oct-17 06:47:05

I buy liquorice alsorts, in fact I have a packet within arms reach right now even though I'm still in bed. I can never eat just one.

Well, that was three, better stash them away again.

ninathenana Tue 24-Oct-17 06:54:24

Wine gums every time.

Several others mentioned too including coconut mushrooms, yummy !
I love chocolate brazils too Chewbacca but not that much smile

M0nica Tue 24-Oct-17 07:01:02

Liquorice Allsorts, although, I have so lost my sweet tooth now that I could only eat a couple. I cannot remember when I last bought any, but every Christmas a packet appear in my stocking and are much appreciated.
