Definitely still on in Staffordshire! The wind is cold today.

Still on here in Northumberland, honestly, most of the time it's like living in the frozen north! I'm not expecting to put my heating off until May. I have it controlled with the thermostat at the moment.

We haven't had any on for the last few days, and only evenings for a week or so before that. It has to be really freezing for us to have the fire on before mid afternoon anyway. When it gets chilly now I just put another jumper or cardi on.
We don't have central heating so no option to have it low to keep the late in day chill away.

Still on; I always think to myself, it's going to be off from May-Oct, but even that tends to get cold at the edges|

Still on here and controlled by the thermostat.

Ours is on, set at 15 during the day but it’s not come on for days till I turn the thermostat up to 18 in the late afternoon. It’s been pretty warm here in the South.

It's still on - turn it down a degree and it feels cold, turn it up again and I get too hot.

There's no pleasing some people.

It isn't on all day - comes on at about 5 pm and is on for two hours in the morning.

I switch it on and off as required. I live in a modern house which feels cool most of the time but is fabulous the odd time that we have a heatwave- I rarely need to switch on a fan. It is very well insulated.

Oops the wind is really warm in Staffordshire so I’ve just turned it off!!

I don’t have central heating but my gas fire is still very much on East wind is still cutting and house very cold

We've been off for a week or so in S.E. but have used the gas fire early morning and evenings on some days.

Strange this post has arrived have just switched our heating off ! First time this year!

On from 6:30am until 10pm but controlled by the thermostat in the hall. I keep that at 18 during the day and 20 evenings. It has not gone off much before this week when we have had a couple of decent days.

We control ours manually from the hall stat and apart from an hour in the morning (I hate cold bathrooms), ours has not been on for four days. I hope that is the shape of things to come, as temperatures are set to remain in double figures for a while.

It's been 5.5deg here today - the heating is staying on!

Ours was off most of yesterday for the first time this year. Back on almost all day today; there's a nasty chill wind out there.

Our CH is never fully turned off, because we can't. We have the thermostat set for a certain temperature (18.5, in our case) and the clock set to come on twice a day (6.00 - 9.30am, 4.00 - 10.30pm) and thus it is left 365/6 days a year.

Whether the internal temperature is falling below 18.5 during the 'On' period and the heating is coming on, I have no idea, I haven't bothered to touch the radiators to check. The house is warm - and that is all I am really interested in.

Smithy it was a couple of days last year when I took my cardigan off temporarily!

Brought up in Scotland I always had a “Summer coat” as well as a Winter one.

I agree, I am sure the only time I was without a cardigan was when I went swimming at St. Andrews and the water was so cold a fur coat would not have sufficed.

We leave ours on 20 degrees all day from 7.30 to 10pm but I sometimes need to turn it up when sitting down. The bill is £88 per month for gas and electricity- I think that's Ok but I would be glad to hear comparisons. This is a very well insulated modern house. It wont go off until May and even then I may want some extra heat in the evenings.
