For any of you on Twitter, this is quite the loveliest hashtag there has ever been. A really feel good factor.

MawBroon Thu 05-Jul-18 21:13:47

Is the space obligatory?

kittylester Thu 05-Jul-18 21:21:44

I Googled it!! I love, love, love Gareth Southgate!

gillybob Thu 05-Jul-18 21:26:55

I’m not a twit but I do love Mr Southgate (and his waistcoat) .

Greyduster Thu 05-Jul-18 21:28:16

Whose Gareth Southgate?? ?

Greyduster Thu 05-Jul-18 21:28:35

maryeliza54 Thu 05-Jul-18 21:29:16

You would love them gilly . It’s lovely, gentle humour ( apart from the obligatory know it all who tries to spoil things). See above

maryeliza54 Thu 05-Jul-18 21:30:51

maryeliza54 Thu 05-Jul-18 21:35:28

He is a saint among men !

maryeliza54 Thu 05-Jul-18 21:47:06

There’s loads more on Twitter - I’ve been utterly indifferent to the WC up to now but now I so want them to beat Sweden.

gillybob Thu 05-Jul-18 21:47:19

I think Gareth Southgate “would stand on the England team bus to let a gransnet granny have his seat”

He could sit on my knee any day .

MawBroon Thu 05-Jul-18 22:16:43

Great one Gillybob. Love him!

Chewbacca Fri 06-Jul-18 00:38:31

Never heard of him confused

maryeliza54 Fri 06-Jul-18 06:32:13

Aww Chew you are missing a treat although how anyone hasn’t amazes me

gillybob Fri 06-Jul-18 08:28:56

Don’t you have TV or Radio on Kashyyyk Chewy ? wink

mcem Fri 06-Jul-18 08:37:37

He is probably the main reason that I, as a bitter and twisted xenophobic Scot who hates all things English, am happy to wish the team well.
(Just going along with opinions that have been expressed in the past but don't take it too seriously. I think that those who expressed such views have 'drifted off')

paddyann Fri 06-Jul-18 10:39:40

I'm not a football fan, never watched a game/match in my life .I wish your team well BUT it would be nice to be able to watch TV without it being the subject of converstaion ALL the time.Thats morning TV ,the" news" even political programmes!!Now I know you are all very proud and thats perfectly understandable but its the ENGLISH team not team GB so why are the rest of the UK being subjected to it ? IF they win we'll need to switch off it will be so unbearable ..we're still getting 1966 on a loop .NOT sour grapes just would like a wee rest from it .

KatyK Fri 06-Jul-18 10:42:32

He seems rather lovely smile

Lindylo Fri 06-Jul-18 11:59:43

Not a football fan but he is a real gent and brings a fresh attitude to the game. I hope it rubs off on the team.

gillybob Fri 06-Jul-18 12:02:42

It obviously is Lyndylo they have stayed very calm against a catalogue of fouls and cheats . Long may it continue .

maryeliza54 Fri 06-Jul-18 22:36:33

Just read this on Twitter ??????

My mate has two tickets for the England vs Sweden game on Saturday. He didn't realise that it's going to be on the same day as his wedding, so he can't go. If you're interested and want to go instead of him, it's at St. Andrew's Church in Cambridge and her name is Sarah
