It's 11.45p.m. so only 15 minutes left of July, then it's 1st August, believe it or not, so let me be first to say "pinch, punch, first day of the month and no returns".
Plus "white rabbit, white rabbit" etc. etc. and all that stuff! wink
Guaranteed Good Luck till when ever?
Don't forget this time Nfk! grin

Rufus In our family it is always a race to see who can be the first to
Pinch punch the first
of the month
Think 4am!!
Sadly now it usually by text unless my DGSs are here, then they think its great fun to catch grandma.

So pinch punch first of the month to you Rufus
And may it be a happy one. smile

I get so confused with all the time zones - it's still July 31st here but that must mean it's actually 3.45 am 1st Aug with my son so too early to say anything to them. It will still be too early to say it to my counterparts in the US when I go to bed - the mind boggles confused

Jalima1108 Tue 31-Jul-18 16:49:56

It makes it hard to have a meaningful chat on the phone, doesn't it.
They're either rushing off to school/work or getting DGC off to bed.

I had never heard this pinch punch white rabbit stuff until a couple of years ago (from a gransnetter on Twitter as it happens). It's weird.

Jalima1108 Tue 31-Jul-18 17:28:47

I've been doing that since I was a child - and DH too, apparently.

He usually gets in first.

Is that cheating Rufus?

No way Jalima! Thanks to global time zones I've got a 9hour head start, soon to be + 11 hour, so whilst I've got it I'll flaunt it. grin
Hope everybody's day is turning out as they wished. and Good Health. smile

+11 hours?

Rufus2 Sat 04-Aug-18 08:02:12

+11 hours?
Jalima; Sorry; I've only just spotted this!
Yes +11 When I said "soon" I was jumping the gun a bit. In fact more than a bit, 3 months more like. confused
We spring forward 1 hour in Spring and you fall back 1 hour in the Fall, (or Autumn some say!) as you would know. Corny? Yes! My apologies. grin

The nearest we ever came to this was Mum saying 'rabbits, rabbits, rabbits' on the first day of any month with an R in it.
Never heard of the 'pinch, punch' part!

Rufus2 Sat 04-Aug-18 10:57:50

first day of any month with an R in it
mcem; Never heard of "white rabbit" at all before starting this thread, but I do recall something about not eating pork(?) in months without an R. The summer ones!
Obviously in pre-freezer days, Shows I'm well past a "certain age" grin
