On Radio Southern Counties last night this was the question posed to the listeners, there were some very funny answers.

Was your first crush a film star and did you put their photo up on the wall ? I can’t remember his name but I had a cowboy from Laramie on my wall.

Was it the papergirl or boy or someone at school?

Robert Horton who played Flint McCullough in Wagon Train.

Richard Chamberlain, when he was Dr Kildare and a boy a year older than me who lived a few houses away.

Ooh, I liked them all.?

Cookie from 77 Sunset Strip.

The boy who just a few years ago became my partner! We'd both been widowed and fate and a helping hand brought us together.

Am I right in thinking that one of the girls magazines, possibly Jackie, used to have a pin up photo of an actor or pop star, that you could tear out for pinning up on your bedroom wall? I had a bedroom with hardly any wallpaper showing and I must have got the pin ups from somewhere?

My first crush was my first boyfriend ,we worked together after school and were an "item" for almost 2 years .Like all my other boyfriends (and there were a few) we've stayed friends for over 50 years .In fact I was standing in our office with my OH and some friends when it dawned on me that 5 of the men present were exes.
Some I still have the odd lunch with ,some who still call now and again. All are on our christmas card list .

Yes, *Chewy", it was Jackie. I had a double page pull out of Brian Jones from the Stones on the wall beside my bed and blush wore a hole in it kissing it goodnight!
I was also crazy about one of the teachers at school and thought my heart might break when he got married.

John Leyton - I even belonged to his fan club. But once I saw Paul McCartney all others were forgotten. I hated Jane Asher because she was his girlfriend (and I'm still not very fond of her now!) envy

Dr Simon Forrester in Emergency Ward 10. I watched it every week, and couldn't wait for the next episode. Then it was a boy in the year below me at secondary school, a farmer's son who travelled on the bus with my best friend.

Sacha Distel......I couldn’t work out why my classmates thought I was a bit odd ?

My sister and I both used to lust after David Attenborough. Remember him in his khaki shorts in the Zoo Quest programmes?
Then I moved on to my biology teacher who was fresh out of university and only a few years older than I. Oh, the thrill when he helped me disect my dogfish!

Ty Hardin - Bronco Lane, I think.

Raymond. We were in the equivalent of Y1 at school and he sat next to me. He had dark brown hair and big brown eyes and a permanent dribble of snot. We were parted the next year when we were streamed; I went into A stream and he into B stream and we never met again...

Oh dear I haven’t heard of any of these people shock dare I say they must’ve been before my time?

My first ever crush was Donny Osmond. smile ♥️

Barberdice Tue 07-Aug-18 23:11:33

Talking of famous people, I always fancied David McCallum from Man from Uncle. Most people fancied the other one, Robert Vaughan.

Eglantine21 Tue 07-Aug-18 23:12:59

Michael Landon. Little Joe in Bonanza.

Wow Gilly, you’re YOUNG!

Allygran1 Tue 07-Aug-18 23:13:43

Gregory Peck without a doubt!

annodomini Tue 07-Aug-18 23:14:20

MiniMoon, thanks for reminding me about Simon Forester of Emergency Ward 10. I couldn't take my eyes off him. Then there was Dr Findlay whom I fancied hugely. My sister and I saw him (Bill Simpson) on a train once but couldn't pluck up the courage to speak to him - what a wasted opportunity!

Chewbacca Tue 07-Aug-18 23:14:34

and a permanent dribble of snot.

He sounds a real catch MaizieD! grin
