Random thoughts in the early hours [grin]

Why do such strange things come into my mind when I'm lying awake instead of sleeping? Last night I thought it would be a good idea if the microphones in the H of C had decibel counters which automatically shut off when an MP shouts. Another was why do we call them 'contactless cards' when we all touch the machine with them?

Yes, this is another pointless thread so I await the nasty posts from the usual suspects. I may be told to get a life but that is rather difficult at 3 am {grin}

Last night I reorganised the local card shop in my head!!!!

My sympathies Nonnie but I was amused at your post - it's me to a tee ! grin grin Spent most of last night wide awake but hey ho ! Take care flowers

Nonnie Sat 09-Feb-19 11:40:24

Thanks both. Either we are all going round the bend or I am normal. grin

Oh it's amazing isn't it! The things that seem so vitally important and I spend hours thinking and worrying about in the middle of the night!

I spend my time drawing up an ideal care pathway for the hairdressers.

Nannie..you don’t need to touch the screen with your contactless card....they are ..erm...contactless! grin

midgey Sat 09-Feb-19 12:00:37

Apologies....Nonnie not Nannie.

Nonnie Sat 09-Feb-19 12:30:22

midgey I know but we all do touch it don't we? I did comment that these thoughts are strange!

Why do people say PIN number when what they are actually saying is personal identification number number?

I do suffer with insomnia so could go on and on grin

Last night I was the prime minister, deciding who should
go and who should stay, by 3am there weren’t many left?

Nonnie Sat 09-Feb-19 12:43:32

Oh Nannyls that is bad, you need medication, perhaps something to knock you out for the next 6 weeks! grin

As a child whenever I asked the question ‘Why’ I was given the answer ‘ because Z comes next’ it took me years to understand & the penny dropped ! ?

Not a pointless thread at all, Nonnie. grin
So many strange things pop into our heads at night, don’t they? Annoyingly, just as I’m settling down, and at that stage of almost dropping off, I’ll suddenly think “did I lock the garage door/switch off car headlights/unplug the tv” or other such random thoughts. I know I did, but I still have to go and check - just in case! Then, of course, I’m back where I started when I climb back into bed, that is, wide awake!

It's better than waking with worries about things which may never happen!

I will try to think of the answers to some of your difficult conundrums next time Nonnie

Nonnie Sat 09-Feb-19 17:01:04

Oh yes and then just as you think you are nodding of your bladder decides to wake up!

Jalima don't try too hard, it will keep you awake!

If we could materialise our thought when resting, the world would be a far better place..I often put the world to right.

sjanef Fri 15-Feb-19 16:52:32

brilliant!

Mapleleaf Fri 15-Feb-19 17:54:29

Oh, yes, Nonnie - the bladder, that's another one! grin
