According to the Mail , his father earned the nickname Mr Night and Day......hardly trips off the tongue does it?

Charleygirl5 Tue 11-Jun-19 13:49:41

I am sorry but I do not have a clue who you are talking about and who the "Saj" is.

blondenana Tue 11-Jun-19 13:52:02

Neither do i, who is the Saj?

Anniebach Tue 11-Jun-19 13:54:23

Sajid Javid

Elvive Tue 11-Jun-19 13:58:35

This is not some political pot shot at somebody so please don't tell me Corbyn is horrible, yes I get that.

It's just a silly thing to write.

EllanVannin Tue 11-Jun-19 14:04:02

Maybe if we had him as a leader he'd bring back some old British values.

Eglantine21 Tue 11-Jun-19 14:07:16

Rolls off the tongue in Punjabi.

Gonegirl Tue 11-Jun-19 14:20:49

>>Mister night and day<< (tries to say it with a punajbi accent)

Yep! A bit better.

kittylester Tue 11-Jun-19 14:31:44

confused I know who he is but.........

Anniebach Tue 11-Jun-19 14:33:45

What is the point of this thread ?

Callistemon Tue 11-Jun-19 14:35:40

confused I had no idea either, thought it must have been some new tv series about the Army grin and a spelling mistake

does that mean his father worked night and day to make a good life for his family?

If so, perhaps Mr Javid inherited his work ethic.

MawBroonsback Tue 11-Jun-19 14:36:15

And.......?

petra Tue 11-Jun-19 14:39:03

Annie
what is the point of this thread
Just what everyone is thinking grin

Callistemon Tue 11-Jun-19 14:40:25

croons softly

Night and Day - you are The One

Elvive Tue 11-Jun-19 14:43:24

it is utterly pointless. like many things.

I was just thinking about nick names and it doesn't seem very likely that a bus driver would say " Mr Day and Night" to his mates.

I have had a very stressful morning.

Elvive Tue 11-Jun-19 14:43:54

Day/Night they all mingle into one.

MawBroonsback Tue 11-Jun-19 14:46:39

If it is a dig at Sajid Javid it has certainly gone over my head confused

Callistemon Tue 11-Jun-19 14:50:16

Still humming Night and Day

I have an ear worm now.

suziewoozie Tue 11-Jun-19 14:51:48

I thought he was of Pakistani heritage so not sure what the Punjab has to do with anything. I think his story and his father’s is quite inspirational and there’s something about this thread that makes me feel a little uncomfortable.

Callistemon Tue 11-Jun-19 14:51:58

Even more confused now

I thought that his parents had a corner shop in Bristol.

BlueBelle Tue 11-Jun-19 14:53:46

Me too MawBroon don’t like digs cone out and say what you want to say, it’s pointless if it goes over everyone’s head
I see nothing wrong with being called Mr Night and Day perhaps he was a diligent worker who didn’t watch the clock to get home

suziewoozie Tue 11-Jun-19 14:57:09

The father started as a bus driver in Rochdale and then they moved to Bristol and bought a shop - no doubt because of his fathers hard work.

Beckett Tue 11-Jun-19 15:17:16

Glad I am not the only one who is wondering what the point of this thread is confused

Anniebach Tue 11-Jun-19 15:24:51

Why the need to say ‘Mr Night and Day’ in Punjabi ?

Alima Tue 11-Jun-19 15:29:49

Have no idea of the context for the “Mr night and day” quote. However, do think that “the Saj” to refer to the Home Secretary either by himself or by others is the most ridiculous name. Much more suited to the playground than Parliament. On second thoughts, with this current bunch.......
