Looking overcast and chilly from my corner of south Devon today - will the warmer sunny weather ever come this summer? Grandson had sleepover last night. After the school run I am meeting up with two close friends for coffee. Taking husband to his rehab class this afternoon. Hope everyone has a peaceful day - even if busy.

There's a yellow sphere in the sky in Cheshire this morning. I won't say it too loud as it may disappear, but doesn't it make a difference when the sun is shining. So a far brighter start to Tuesday so far. For me it's a walk at 9 o'clock and later to the hairdresser's after which I hope to look less like a mad woman.

Have a good day Mick and everyone and hope anyone who's not been well is feeling better.

Cycling with U3A group this morning . 35 miles around Skiddaw. Bet I'll be tired after that!

Beechnut Tue 18-Jun-19 06:54:42

Good Morning everyone.
Dry and cloudy on Severnside.
Off to the dentist this morning for the first stage of having a new crown.
I hope you all have a lovely day ?

ninathenana Tue 18-Jun-19 07:02:51

Morning everyone.

A thin layer of cloud over Kent. I have a pre op assessment this morning, which they say to allow 2 hrs for. Joy !
I will need to do my usual Tuesday food shop on the way home, so that's my day taken care of.
Enjoy whatever your doing.

Grammaretto Tue 18-Jun-19 07:04:03

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. The sun is shining.
My friend leaves today. I feel I've hardly seen her. She used to be a neighbour but moved away so she has lots of catching up to do.
Housework and chasing up the plumber are on my agenda.
Hope your days go well.

Good morning Mick and all from a breezy and damp Glasgow, although the sun is trying to peep through.

Welcome Calpurnia, I have not seen you posting on the Good Morning thread before.

Hairdressers first thing, (looking forward to hearing all the local gossip) then Lidl (I have a voucher ?), then our wee granddaughter will be here at lunchtime after nursery.

She discovered her papa's unfinished suduko and crossword pages in the newspaper yesterday and after pointing out that he hadn't completed it and insisted on
filling them in with random numbers. We have now discovered the perfect way to keep her occupied, there wasn't a peep out of her! smile.

Enjoy your day out Mick and best wishes to Beechnut at the dentist.

kittylester Tue 18-Jun-19 07:16:21

Morning all from a bright and sunny North Leicestershire.

Pootling and faffing for me all day today and then the dentist at 5.30. Bad planning that.

Greyduster Tue 18-Jun-19 07:19:42

Good morning, Michael and all GNs. The sun is shining here in South Yorkshire too! I may get some gardening done before the school run this afternoon. MOMB I am exhausted at just the thought of doing thirty five miles on a bike! Enjoy your day everyone.

NanKate Tue 18-Jun-19 07:20:25

Morning Mick and All.

Sunny morning but rain on the way in South Bucks.

Off to have my hearing aid ratcheted up and DH to have an audio test. Then this evening going to the local Arts Centre to see the Aretha Franklyn film.

I wonder Mary if you were tempted to buy anything when you were in M and S, was it yesterday ?

BlueSapphire Tue 18-Jun-19 07:20:53

Good morning all from Northampton where the sun is shining, so I have stripped the bed and put the washing machine on.

Managed to get both lawns cut yesterday afternoon, trimmed back an overgrown climbing hydrangea, and then tidied up the grass edges. Was worn out after that, so had to have a medicinal G&T to recover.....

Will be packing today for my cruise tomorrow, then popping down to Sainsbury's to pick up the last of my travel money. Will let my neighbours know I am away and let them have a key in case the house alarm goes off. They also have DCs' phone numbers in case of emergency.

Hope everyone's day goes well.

Morning Mick, morning All. Cloudy in our corner of Somerset, dry at the moment, apparently rain later. There’s a surprise hmm. Haircut at 9am, how did I agree to that? If weather allows some more garden tidying later. Hope Tuesday is kind to everyone.

Marydoll Tue 18-Jun-19 07:28:55

Kate, it was the outlet I was in. I haven't been in it for over seven weeks, since my stay in hospital. I swear the same clothes as then were still on the rails!

However, I did buy a lovely linen mix sweater for £11, despite the fact I didn't need it. grin

Lins1066 Tue 18-Jun-19 07:43:54

Good Morning Mick and all. A bright morning on S Welsh coast.
Slept well last night probably due to my walking yesterday, managed half of the local shopping outlet and Sainsbury's.
Hydrotherapy this morning, hope the water is warmer than last week, seems to get colder each time.
Welcome Calpurnia

joot Tue 18-Jun-19 07:51:08

Good morning from Warrington where the sun is greeting us this morning. I can't go for a walk sadly but i can put my washing out ! Simple pleasures.

Urmstongran Tue 18-Jun-19 08:09:09

Good morning everyone from our penultimate day in Malaga. Bits and bobs to do in the apartment then out for a stroll and coffee later - best make the most of the sunshine! Our eldest daughter and her partner are using the apartment next week for a two week holiday. Bet she uses the pool more than I did (not in once!)

Hello joots if you are a newbie. Always nice to have new people on this gentle and friendly thread.

Glad to ear there’s sunshine in Cheshire Ginny42 as we don’t live far from you and it won’t seem so bad returning now!

Hope Tuesday is good to us all especially those of us with health anxieties.

Bellasnana Tue 18-Jun-19 08:14:32

Good morning everyone. It’s hot here in Malta. I would go for a swim if I hadn’t made a hair appointment and plans to meet a friend for coffee.

Hope you all enjoy your day as much as possible.sunshine

Auntieflo Tue 18-Jun-19 08:18:18

Morning Michael, Annie to come and all. Dry here, with a bit of weak sun (shh) . Ironing this morning, then mammogram this afternoon. It's the follow up to surgery and radiotherapy that I had last August. Not looking forward to it!!
Am still in bed with my most welcome cuppa, after checking my CC statement, before paying it.
MOMB, hope you enjoy your cycle ride, and don't come home too exhausted.
Lins, why do they have those pools so cold? I used to love a swim, but with the heating of the pool, practically non existant, I stopped going, as it made my back seize up.
BlueSapphire, enjoy your cruise, and
Marydoll, well done for surviving the M&S outlet.
Have a good day one and all.

Good morning All x
So far, it's bright and sunny though there remains to be some threatening clouds around. Dry overnight.

Quite an unexpected evening when it had been quickly arranged to gather together 8 family members to a local pub.
What a fantastic gathering it was too, with some of my step-family along with my 2 D's and SiL ( Aussie's ) It was a good news catchup from all. Made me realise what a lovely family I've got, so proud and so fortunate. Eldest step-GD is 50 this year and still calls me nan as does her brother who's late 40's.

My 3 girls, SiL and myself are out for lunch today so more catching up and generally making the most of having my D and her H short stay in the UK.

Hope everyone else's day goes well.

Justme67 Tue 18-Jun-19 08:28:06

Good morning to you all,I am earlier than usual today, got up even earlier made myself a cup of tea, and then left it to get cold when I fell asleep again in the arm chair. It was very still here, seemed that even the trees had gone to sleep, I rather think it is the calm before the storm, as we are promised thunder storms throughout the day. Off this morning for coffee with friends.

Brunette10 Tue 18-Jun-19 08:37:24

Carillion Tue 18-Jun-19 09:12:11

Good morning everyone. Only found the forum yesterday but already know it's a nice place to be.
Misty over Brittany just now and thunder forecast for later.
Jobs today will be neglected a bit because of the cricket, rain permitting!
I have to get into the mini poly tunnel later though because the weeds look like they're from the petrified forest.
If time for recipes today I'm going to try Dried Fig Chutney and Pear and Lemon Jam! Hope everyone enjoys the day.

Good Morning from a cloudy Surrey. At least it’s warm and dry. Doing housework, then pick up 4 year old GD from nursery then other 4 year old GD from school. I love having 2 child seats in the back of my car, it makes me feel young and useful. The GDs play together well and then they argue but I won’t stand for that and offer to take them both home - and they stare at me with wide eyes and all is peace again. Love being a granny! Love having a house full of toys!
