Step in bath

I am having my house renovated - not before time - and want to start with the bathroom. I am having some difficulty in getting out of the bath now and, obviously, this is going to become worse.

It occurred to me that, if I am going to the expense of a new bath, I ought to consider a step-in model.

Has anyone any advice, please, on pitfalls to avoid and good experiences they have had. Recommendations (if allowed on Gransnet), would be much appreciated.

Personally I'd get rid of the bath and put a large walk-in shower.

I agree with jura2 With a step in bath you'd have to sit in it and then wait for it to fill and again wait for it to empty before you can get out. I'd imagine it could get quite cold while waiting!

We changed our bath to a large shower after my first knee replacement. Never regretted it.

We had a large walk in shower when we couldn't manage the bath anymore. I love it. Much easier.

Next week the bath goes and the shower will be installed. Since I broke my hip the bath has been a struggle. Couldn't be bothered with a walk-in bath for grannybags reasons.
Besides, walk-in baths are for old folk and I'm only 71!

I've got a redundant spa bath. The grandchildren love it when they have a sleepover though ?. I'd like a large shower with a seat along one side.
