Good Morning Everyone,
Its a grey start but cooler here in Brackley after overnight rain.
Usual day out to Buckingham and Bicester , hoping the flea market is on ,and any further wet weather does not stop it.
A coffee in Bicester then back on X5 to Buckingham for a coffee and sarny , browse flea market weather permitting then wait for bus home.
Then watch the penultimate stage of the Tour De France, which will be interesting after yesterdays stage and watch the drama unfold.

Morning Mick and all who follow.

Decidedly dull over Kent this morning but we haven't got the promised rain yet.
No real plans for the day given the forecast.
Have a good day all.

Marydoll Sat 27-Jul-19 06:37:55

Good morning Mick and all who follow. It's 59C here at the moment, positively Artic, compared to some areas of Britain. grin

It was indeed a dramatic race yesterday, Mick! Enjoy your very busy day, today.

I plan to have a very quiet day today, I'm exhausted after yesterday!! I love my family, but they are so noisy and DGD gets very excited when they are here.
The visit to the park in the sky was a great success and the air was so clear.
I did try to take a picture of the magnificent view to post , but I couldn't see my phone screen in the sun.

I have lots of sewing jobs to do, I swear I have shrunk, as trousers, which were the correct length last summer , seem to have grown longer. wink

Wishing you all apleasant Saturday.

Good morning, Nina!!!

Morning Mick, morning All from an overcast and much cooler corner of Somerset. Looks like some overnight rain undoubtedly caused by Mr C watering the garden yesterday evening grin. Food shop and some admin today as yesterday disappeared under a heap of difficult phone calls. Sounds as if a rest is well deserved marydoll, hope Saturday is kind to everyone.

Good morning Mick, Nina, Marydoll and all who follow.

It's raining here in Cheshire too, but it's not a lot fresher. The plan for today has changed dramatically as friends are unable to come, so I'm racking my brains on how to keep GS occupied. May make a trip to Liverpool and if the eye is working we'll go on that and possibly a ferry across the Mersey. He'll probably be happy to stay home and play with his gifts for his birthday yesterday.

Spent 48 hours nursing a baby wren pushed out of the nest, but poor little thing died. A beautiful little scrap of life. GS cried as he so wanted it to live.

Good morning, Michael and all GNs. We have had a lot of rain overnight in South Yorkshire by the look of it and the sky is still rather leaden. We were planning a trip to the garden centre this morning to replenish one of our troughs, and then spend the afternoon poring over Power of Attorney forms before we fill them in. I may make some brownies! Have a good day folks.

Morning Mick and All.

Grey but still warm here in South Bucks.

We are off to an open air performance of Pride and Prejudice tonight. It will be a case of wearing our waterproofs, eating our picnic and the poor actors getting wet. ?

A very good morning everyone from South Manchester where it’s warm but dull. It’s damp outside on the verandah decking so we must have had a shower during the night. I slept like a log. I think it’s because I’ve not drunk any alcohol since Monday lunchtime (it’s been too hot to want any) and I’m loving the deep, restful sleep - common sense would say to keep off the stuff permanently.....

We fly back out to Malaga today. Will book a taxi for 5:30pm. Was Googling Manchester airport last night - apparently it’s the 3rd most busy in the country. Once I’m through ‘belts & shoes’ as I call the stressful bit unloading iPad, Kindle, liquids, phone etc into a tray, I’m happy. No luggage just my handbag which is nice.

Hope Saturday is good to us all whether we have plans or none. x

P.s. Marydoll I’m sure you meant Fahrenheit otherwise we’re all in trouble!

Good morning Mick and all from a very warm Malta.

Nothing exciting planned for today. My son is away for the weekend so I shall give his room a good ‘bottoming’. I know he is old enough to do it himself, but it gives me something to do.

Hope everyone has a good day.sunshine

Good Morning all.
Overcast and warm on Severnside.
The family are coming today to help me do some stuff.

Have a lovely day whatever you do and Marydoll enjoy your rest ?

Sar53 Sat 27-Jul-19 07:10:13

Good morning everyone from a grey, cooler Essex by the sea. We are forecast rain today, so different to the last few days where the temperature in our flat hasn't dropped below 29 degrees.
Nothing on the agenda but I am sure we will find somewhere to go.
Have a good day everyone.

Marydoll Sat 27-Jul-19 07:32:21

Urmstongran, despite having taught the metric system and Centigrade to my pupils, I still think in "old money"! grin

Enjoy your trip to Malaga, I'm so envious. envy.

I have just remembered DGD is coming for a sleepover, I need to batten down the hatches and preserve my energy.
Last night I lay in a darkened room with two paracetamol and a mint Magnum after she left! ?

Brunette10 Sat 27-Jul-19 07:39:44

Good Morning to all from a wet Fife, doubt our good weather is over. Have some shopping to do then probably a quietish day after our picnic yesterday with DGS’s. Hope everyone day is good.

Urmstongran Sat 27-Jul-19 07:40:10

Ooh mint Magnums! I must look out for some next time I’m home Marydoll

It wasn’t the fact you like to think of weather in Fahrenheit measurements it was because you put a ‘C’ after 59 and it made me giggle!

P.s. I always think of the weather in degrees centigrade but as in a thread last night, I like to hear the birth weight of babies in pounds and ounces. We’re a funny lot aren’t we?

Nannytopsy Sat 27-Jul-19 07:40:30

Good morning everyone! Leicester has had overnight rain too but I don’t think it was very heavy. Off to buy new bras today - did you need to know that? grin

Marydoll Sat 27-Jul-19 07:43:33

Oh grin that just goes to show how tired I am, I never even noticed my error!?

DH has just set off the house alarm, aaaargh. angry. I'm definitely coming with you Urmonstongran.

kittylester Sat 27-Jul-19 07:50:11

Morning all.

My bit of Leicestershire had very little rain overnight but we have just had lots.

Still on the hunt for curtains today so we are off to the middle of nowhere to see if they have any there!!

Enjoy your days everyone.

Alygran Sat 27-Jul-19 07:56:20

Good morning. It’s pouring down here in North Yorkshire. On my own today after a busy week with DGS here since Sunday. Much tennis and golf played and a lovely afternoon on the beach at Saltburn. Going down for a week at his house tomorrow. So today a bit of shopping and browsing, sort some admin then a “me time” kind of day.
Hope everyone has a good day.

harrigran Sat 27-Jul-19 08:12:51

Good morning from an overcast NE. I knew the good weather would not last, this weekend is the Air show.
I have been awake all night with severe stomach pains, may have to return to the hospital if it does not improve.

Lins1066 Sat 27-Jul-19 08:27:30

Good Morning Mick and all from a cloudy and warm S Welsh coast. Didn't sleep well as it was so muggy.

Look after yourself * harrigran*.

Have a good day everyone and wishing Urmston a lovely holiday.

Grammaretto Sat 27-Jul-19 08:32:51

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. Pouring rain here. I mowed the grass yesterday thankfully but left the machine out and the greenhouse windows open and I turned off the rayburn cooker so am very late baking my cake as it's still heating up.
59 degrees here too, Marydoll. We all knew what you meant.
Hope the day goes well.

lovebeigecardigans1955 Sat 27-Jul-19 08:43:38

Morning all from a damp South Notts.
It's a little cooler but still sticky. Sent my apologies to sister yesterday as I felt exhausted due to the heat.
I shall do the absolute minimum today. Must go out for a paper and more cat food. Have prepared salad for lunch - no way am I cooking.
Poor little wren Ginny such a fragile little life.
Hope all is well with you all.

oldgaijin Sat 27-Jul-19 08:44:21

Good morning from a bright Aberdeenshire...looks like another warm, sunny day. There's a so called farmer's market in the village today and will have a look but it's usually full of Cats Protection stalls selling a heap of old tat...the egg lady night be there.
Have a good day everyone.

Morning All

The weather is breaking. Dull, cooler and quite wet in the north of Norfolk with a refreshing breeze.

We went for a sail yesterday with DS and family. We were in our boat with DGS (aged 5) while his mum and dad tried out a hired Wayfarer dinghy (sailing is quite new to DiL). Started out well with blue skies in a very gentle breeze, then it got gusty, then it got rather dark with billowing black clouds, then there were a few lightening flashes. Then it came. The wind died to nothing and we were drifting in the middle of an expanse of water in boats with masts, with the storm all around! Lightening flashes between the water in front and the clouds!! Luckily DGS relishes storms!! We paddled back and got in just as the heavens opened!

Today we're having a quite day!
