Morning Mick, morning All

A lovely sunny start here in the north of Norfolk. A catch up day for me too with housework and gardening. Our hedge is growing across the lane again and needs dealing with before the road turns into a footpath.

Good Morning everyone.
It’s cloudy and dry on Severnside.
I’m off to see if I can get my phone sorted out today but thinking I may have to buy a new one. Later on I might do some jobs on my ‘Honey do’list.

I hope you all enjoy the day whatever you get up to ?

NanKate Wed 07-Aug-19 07:05:46

Morning Mick and All.

Sunshine and clouds in South Bucks.

Came third in the Limerick competition yesterday at my WI Summer Show, well chuffed as there is strong competition.

Having a telephone appointment with my doc today to discuss my tablets. Have to stay in all day as not given a time but I suppose I should be grateful to at least get a call.

Watching the tennis from Montreal this evening.

Grammaretto Wed 07-Aug-19 07:09:50

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. Dry so far but the town was flooded in places yesterday. A quiet day for me I hope . Craft group and lunch with friends.
Have a good day everyone.

Good evening from west coast British Columbia! A thick fog has rolled in from the ocean, but will likely dissipate before noon tomorrow.

Sometimes here is August we get thick low cloudbank that rolls in during the evening. So thick you can feel it. Good for the complexion though!

Good morning, Michael and all GNs. The sun is shining in South Yorkshire - after all the rain we had yesterday evening I’d be amazed if there was any left up there!! We are going out to buy a tv cabinet for the conservatory this morning and then I must do some gardening. It looks a sight!
NanKate when are we going to hear your Limerick then?Have a good day folks.

Good morning from Malta where it is hot and sunny.

Had a lovely four day break in Sicily. We had a lot of fun in a short space of time. Love spending time with my daughter.

Today I must collect my dog from kennels then unpack and do some laundry. I have already watered the plants, some of which aren’t looking too happy.

Hope everyone has a good day.sunshine

Good Morning all , lovely and sunny here in Co Armagh after the deluge yesterday , but it is nippy .

Brunette10 Wed 07-Aug-19 07:35:31

Good Morning all from Fife. It's been some rain here last night everything is soaking wet. It's come to a halt at the moment so I hope that's it for the day. DG's today so will obviously have a full day on our hands. Weather permitting we shall get out and about but nothing specifically planned yet. Hope everyone has a good day.

Good Morning from the S Welsh Coast.
A dry, bright morning after overnight rain.
Well done * NanKate* on your competition prize.
Some ironing to do and will go for a walk later. Made some chilli yesterday so supper is sorted.

Have a good day everyone.

gillybob Wed 07-Aug-19 07:38:53

Good morning Mick and everyone from the NE coast . The sky is just starting to clear and a fair day if forecast, without any rain hmm we shall see.

I had the 4 DGC yesterday and ended up with four little mud monsters as we all trooped off to the park and seafront and were caught in the worst heavy rain. Children were covered in mud and sand and had to be showered when we got back. This summer is just diabolical .

I have a dentist appointment at 9am yuk and then straight off to “that place” double yuk .

Enjoy the sun to all of those lucky Gransnetters who have actually seen any this summer .

Have a good Wednesday everyone x

Thinking of Harrigran and wondering how she got on with her emergency appointment yesterday.

Peonyrose Wed 07-Aug-19 07:44:08

Good morning everyone. What a beautiful day. Out with a friend later for pub lunch. Maybe a spot of gardening later. Have a good day everyone.

Good morning Mick and all from a damp and cloudy Glasgow.

The travel insurance saga continues, so I will need to phone the company first thing. My GP keeps asking why my BP is so high!!! grin

I have the hospital this after noon, one of my usual clinics, but I have absolutely no idea why I have this appointment! confused.

First thing, I'm going to iron our outfits for the wedding on Saturday, as the rest of the week will be busy and I don't want a last minute panic.

I'm going to try fake tan today, as my dress is sleeveless (not the best choice of style), but my arms are covered in bruises due to my meds. sad.
However, I will put it on after the appointment, as I don't want to be smelling of fake tan at the hospital. grin

However, on a lighter note, the hamper arrived yesterday, as promised and it was amazing!!!!

Enjoy your day all.

Morning all from an overcast North Leicestershire.

DH's birthday today. He's 74!! We are going to Hemel Hempstead to see DD2 's new house, hear their plans and then go out for lunch with her and 2 dgd.

Well done kate!!

Marydoll Wed 07-Aug-19 07:46:43

I hope NanKate will share her limerick with us. smile
Gilly, I too was wondering about Harrigran.

gillybob Wed 07-Aug-19 07:47:56

Sorry to go on about the weather but I can’t honestly say we have had one single “beautiful day” this summer. We have had so much rain that it’s almost impossible to plan anything with the children. We have had odd days that start promising or end up brightening, but a beautiful day? No way.

BlueSapphire Wed 07-Aug-19 07:50:19

Good morning everyone; it's overcast in Northampton today, and I have just put some washing on, so hoping to hang it out to dry and I need to change the bed.

Younger DGD today, not quite sure what we're doing, but I have promised her a burger for lunch, so I have one thawing out in the fridge. We had a nice day out yesterday, lunch and cinema.

Think I might try to trim the front hedge some time today, and the back grass needs doing before I go to the Lakes.

Must get my skates on!

DoraMarr Wed 07-Aug-19 07:55:09

Good morning from Birmingham, where it is indeed a beautiful day. I have my eldest granddaughter for an extra day, so we will be going to the park nice and early before it gets busy, then she will “help” me tidy up the balcony.

EllanVannin Wed 07-Aug-19 08:00:44

Good Morning All x
Heavy grey skies, very unsettled with rain not far away. Any thoughts of decent weather have long gone as we in the NW seem to skip summer and go straight into Autumn. It does get you down as summer clothes are wasted.

A good old chinwag yesterday with friend then D called early evening and we were discussing the " 0's " in birthdays that are coming up in the next 3 months, step-GD will be 50,step-D will be 70 and SiL, 60. Where's the time gone ?

Enjoy better weather everyone wherever you might be.

Urmstongran Wed 07-Aug-19 08:07:30

Good morning everyone from another gorgeous sunny day in Malaga with only the faintest soft breeze. (Sorry gillybobs if this seems smug - your summer has been pretty dire weather wise, even the weekend you spent in Knutsford was mostly a washout).

More of the same today. Gardens, pool games, watching the 7y old play a game of pool with his daddy - he must play about 3 times a day. I said he’ll grow up to be a hustler in his early teens at this rate!

Best wishes to harrigran I do hope you are alright.

No going out tonight. We’ve decided on 3 takeaway pizzas in the garden at 8pm (it’s still sunny till gone 9pm) and open some cava. (Not for the smalls, obv).

Hope Wednesday is kind to us all whether we have any plans or none. x

gillybob Wed 07-Aug-19 08:15:34

Don’t be silly, you’re not being smug at all Urmstongran and I’m sorry to have even made you think you might be.

I admit to being a teensy bit envy of those who are enjoying a proper summer, the kind where children can play outside in shirts and tee shirts.

vena11 Wed 07-Aug-19 08:18:43

Very wet night in Bristol and does not look very promising today.
Going to North Wales for a few day today, I don't mind if the sun does not beat down just for it to be dry, finger crossed.
Enjoy the day everyone.

harrigran Wed 07-Aug-19 08:19:36

Good morning from an overcast NE, not raining so that is a bonus.
GP was running late yesterday but at least I was seen, she just read back to me what consultant had said and they would hold fire until after my scan next week. She did give me a prescription for more PPIs so that I can take them morning and night but in this case I don't think it is the acid that it is the problem.
I slept through last night and do not feel like a zombie this morning so better get on with jobs while I am able.
