Fuel or plastic dilemma

For a while now I’ve cooked our veg -carrots, cauliflower, broccoli, green beans etc. in microwave steam bags. The veg are beautifully cooked in 2-3 minutes without having to boil water and wait. So I save on fuel and time which makes perfect sense but I’m using a small plastic bag each time.
What do you think?

I cook frozen veg in a small glass casserole dish with the lid on. It can be served at the table, then.

I can't get on with those steam bags, I always end up scalding myself.

I should say, all veg, not just frozen.

I also use a stainless steel steamer on the hob, when several veg can be done at the same time.

As I don't steam my veg in the microwave I'm not sure but would you not get the same effect by using a microwave steamer - which is also plastic but at least reusable after the initial outlay.
