Good Morning Michael , you are an early bird this morning, I am in the kitchen making a cup of tea to take back to bed .
It is dark with a lovely clear sky full of stars and Orion is just framed in the window so clearly .
Hundreds of bulbs to be planted today if the rain holds off
Greetings to all xxx

Good morning to all from Godalming. Just going out for my run which will end at Waitrose where we will have coffee and a pastry which will be shared with the ducks.
Dark n damp but I'll be toasty warm in 90 minutes time.

Morning all from a chilly North Leicestershire.

I'm helping on an Alzheimer's stall in the next village for most of the day.

This greeted us when we came down this morning. Notice how the ceiling cleverly misses the towel!!

Good morning Mick and all, I have been wandering since 5.30am, as DH forgot to switch off yesterday’s early morning alarm . angry.
I’ve kept quiet, as he was an absolute star yesterday! ?

Well I am safely back home after my angiogram. I left home yesterday at 6.30am and got home at 5pm, a long day! I told the consultant that I was going to chain myself to the ward door, if I didn’t get the procedure.

I couldn’t have sedation, (too risky for me), so I concentrated the whole time, trying not to cough. It was so difficult, I can tell you!!

I now have a diagnosis ( albeit not a great one) and treatment plan, but hopefully I can move on and once the new medication starts working, I should feel a bit better and get my life back!

Unfortunately, if the condition had been diagnosed and treated properly years ago, there wouldn’t be so much damage. However, I’m grateful that my allergic drug reaction in May, highlighted the hidden condition, so there is much to be thankful for.
The consultant’s last words, as she went out of the word were: Yes, you shall go to New York in December!. Yippee!!!

I’m on strict orders to do NOTHING for two days and no lifting for a week. This is going to be very difficult for someone like me, but for once I shall just have to allow myself to be pampered.grin

Thank you all for all your kind words and prayers my dear GN friends, it is very much appreciated.

Kitty, I'm sorry to hear about your ceiling, so stressful for you.
I hope everyone has the best weekend they can and for those who are low, flowers.

Good morning all. Damp and dark here (again)
Yesterday’s rain was of Biblical proportions and I even wimped out of a private preview yesterday evening of the big Stubbs exhibition opening today at MK gallery. (Hint, hint if you like Stubbs or horses or both - this is a major exhibition)
Poor you Kitty if it was going to happen - it would. I do hope you can get some remedial work done very soon.
Good to see you are running again GabriellaG -hope that means you are better.
I’m at a course on Jane Austen today and wish you all a pleasant and perhaps drier Saturday.

MawB Sat 12-Oct-19 07:20:40

PS Marydoll - get back to bed and stay there !
Please do as you have been told- New York in December sounds like a treat worth focusing on. smile

cornergran Sat 12-Oct-19 07:48:16

Morning Mick, morning All. Guess what? It’s still raining heavily in our corner of Somerset. Food shop this morning, and C tells me there is ‘nothing’ to eat. hmm. Plumber has promised he will be here this afternoon. I don’t dare believe all will then be well, Goodness kitty, not a good start to your day. Please rest marydoll, sometimes we all need to be sensible. Hard though it is. Hope Saturday is kind to everyone.

Resurgam123 Sat 12-Oct-19 08:03:48

Good morning All. It's a clear sky in Cheshire.
By some strange reason we seem to have acquired a lot of skimmed milk this weekend.
It will make me a good porrage this morning.

dragonfly46 Sat 12-Oct-19 08:06:54

Good morning, oh kitty not the sight you want to see first thing. I hope we do not have any more rain over the weekend.

So pleased you had your angiogram yesterday Mary I was thinking about you. New York in December sounds wonderful. We went for my DD’s 30th birthday and the Christmas decorations were amazing.

Greyduster Sat 12-Oct-19 08:14:25

Good morning, Michael and all GNs. Well the sky is blue if you look out the back of the house and grey if you look out the front! I have to go to the library today, and then try and find somewhere that sells seals for kilner jars! Corner when DH says “there’s nothing to eat” it usually means we have run out of biscuits?! Kitty that doesn’t look good! Any sign of the roofer yet?
Have a good day folks.

NanKate Sat 12-Oct-19 08:16:06

Morning Mick and All.

Wet and grey inSouth Bucks.

Kitty you are falling apart. I think you should do a course in plastering.

Good new Mary that you have had your procedure. Isn’t it hard keeping still and not coughing. New York sounds fun ?

My sister is having fun with me (life hasn’t been too kind to her). We are both eating for too much over long meals reminiscing about our childhood. Taking her to a good Garden Centre nearby where there are plenty of things to look at. I don’t think they have Garden centres like ours in Italy where she lives.

Brunette10 Sat 12-Oct-19 08:17:01

Good Morning to everyone from a sunny Fife. It looks lovely outside but I fear it won't last. Kitty heavens above, what a pain for you, hopefully it hasn't caused too much damage. Marydoll, yes New York sounds great esp at that time of year, it's fantastic. Just do as you are told wink Unsure of our plans today but will be out somewhere prob for lunch. I hope Saturday is kind to all.

Good morning from Shropshire.Dry at the moment but rain forecast later.
Am planning a quiet day today as back in the summer, when tomorrow seemed a long way off,I said I would do a 12 hour locum shift at the pharmacy I used to work at?Apart from the early start,it is a while since I have been on my feet for 12 hours but hopefully will be a few quiet moments when I can sit down for a few minutes.
Marydoll,I am so glad you had the angiogram and that things look set to improve for you.I’m sure you will follow Drs orders.New York in December is definitely something to focus on.
Kitty, sorry about your ceiling and hope it can be sorted sooner rather than later. What an absolute nightmare it has been for you.
Hope everyone has the best day they can and for everyone feeling unwell?

Good morning everyone from South Manchester where it’s wet (again). I’ve had my tea and toast in bed - a nice change as husband was up first this morning!

We are off out in an hour to get our ‘flu jabs then home to potter and pack. We set off at 8am in the morning - me to stay with my aunt for 5 days whilst my uncle, father and husband drive up to Plockton in the West Highlands for a mini break. Father has a family home there which he is putting on the market in the new year.

Great that you got your angiogram done Marydoll and I bet you feel so happy to know you will be going to New York at Christmas. Wow!

kitty that lump of plaster missed the towel overnight but thankfully it didn’t fall during the daytime onto someone’s head!

Nice to hear you are enjoying your morning runs Gabriella watch out for slippy leaves at this time of year.

Hope you have fun learning more about JA Maw and that Saturday is kind to us all whether we have plans or none. x

Maggiemaybe Sat 12-Oct-19 08:20:33

Marydoll, take care, let yourself be pampered, rest up (as a New York City girl would say). NY in December will be fabulous! thanks

gillybob Sat 12-Oct-19 08:20:55

Good morning from the NE coast where I have just arrived home having spent 15 hours in A&E with DH . They have just admitted him and I’ve just dashed home for a quick shower and to collect some things . I’m shattered as have been awake for almost 26 hours I don’t think we can take much more of this crap .

Glad you had your angiogram Marydoll and very happy that you will get to New York in December .

To all those who are poorly or feeling down I hope things improve soon .

Xx

dragonfly46 Sat 12-Oct-19 08:31:12

Oh Gilly I am so sorry to hear this. Can nothing be done to sort your DH out while he is in hospital. Surely they see that urgent treatment is necessary. Please try to take care of yourself sending gentle hugs

Urmstongran Sat 12-Oct-19 08:35:12

Oh gillybob

ninathenana Sat 12-Oct-19 08:37:07

Good morning from Kent.
We had minimal rain here yesterday. Even when it does hit Kent our corner stays dry.
No plans today, DH is miffed about the rugby. So will be taking it out on some wood in the garage.
Oh dear kitty that's not good. Hope you get it sorted soon.
When you get the urge to do something just keep singing ?New York, New York? Marydoll until the urge passes.

NfkDumpling Sat 12-Oct-19 08:40:33

Morning All

Grey, overcast and drizzly here in Norfik.

I'm off into Norwich in a bit to take DGD2 shopping as her birthday treat. She has a cash limit to work to!

Sorry about your ceiling Kitty, I hope you're insured well.?☔

Behave now Marydoll. Rest!?

BlueSapphire Sat 12-Oct-19 08:43:21

Oh dear, so many not very pleasant things happening to GNetters all at once.
Hope the new medication works Marydoll. Take care and rest.
Gilly, I do hope your DH gets better soon.
And I hope your ceiling gets sorted soon Kitty. What a shock to come down to.

A dull damp morning here in Northampton. It threw it down yesterday as I was walking to school to pick up DGD, but luckily eased off on the walk home.

The bathroom fitter arrived yesterday evening as promised, with brochures, so I spent the evening trying to choose fittings for the new cloakroom. Will have a trip to the tile shop later on this morning, and to a local bathroom showroom.

But first I am going to make some butternut squash soup, and will be getting the pressure cooker out. I just had a fancy for some! Looking forward to it for my lunch.

Hope people get sorted today and that things turn out well.

harrigran Sat 12-Oct-19 08:43:52

Good morning from a sunny NE.
Lunch out today and then a visit to see the family. It will be a brief visit because GD is off to an evening party at a hotel in the country.
Gilly sorry to hear that you spent the night at A&E again, hope this can be sorted ♥️
