I've just been reminded of Ken Platt's catchphrase, "I won't tek me coat off, I'm not stoppin'"

It took me right back down Memory Lane to the 50's when the old music hall comedians were adapting to radio.

What other catchphrases were popular?

MM, I deliberately didn't attribute the phrase, hoping others would recognise it and remember smile My mum's mum was a huge fan of Charlie Drake and could take him off brilliantly, we were allowed to watch her TV whenever he was appearing (we didn't have TV at home).
Monica - a huge thank you, you've put me out of my misery!
