Good Morning Everyone,
Its dark and wet here in Brackley this morning, my usual bus trips out to Bicester and Buckingham.
Will have usual coffees etc.
I this year , have found myself booking to see West End shows on coach trips this early ,
Planned shows in order of seeing them , Mary Poppins , Tina Turner musical ,and Sister Act which will be next August as Whoopi Goldberg appears for a short period in the show, mind you price wise that and Mary Poppin's are not cheap tickets ,and the organiser has to secure seats early, so final payments before end of year.
Mick

Good morning Mick and all to come. Wow, I’m impressed with your planning as far ahead as next August!

Unfortunately I can’t plan any further than the end of November at the moment as DH is waiting to see consultant at Gobowen for hip op, hopefully before end of the year!

Hope there’s good news coming for all with illness @nd worries and sunshine for the rest of us x

Ginny42 Thu 07-Nov-19 06:42:03

Good morning Mick. My goodness you are well organised, but clearly you must book early or they will sell out.

I was wakened an hour ago by my mobile phone pinging in messages. In the pitch dark I picked up the phone to find short strange messages from my DD. What had she done? She was creating an example of how social media is stifling conversation and thought I'd have it switched off! We then had a long conversation!

The rain is battering on the skylights here in Cheshire and I'm back under the duvet with a mug of tea.

It's painting group this morning. Still working on St Mark's cathedral. They possibly built the original quicker. Then it's lunch with a friend, followed by hairdresser's and meeting tonight of the charity I support.

Sending warm wishes to all who are struggling at the moment. To the Gillybobs who are suffering so much. To dragonfly and all who are coping with treatments of one kind or another. To those with family problems.

Thankfully we have births and birthdays to celebrate too.
Enjoy your day. xx

Good Morning everyone.

Damp and getting light on Severnside. I’m off to craft class today.
I love to hear of your sunshiny days, I can almost feel the warmth.
My best wishes to you all for good things and the not so good. Daily thoughts for gilly and I now find myself appreciating the explanations of procedures that EV gives for gillybobs DH. ?

Good morning all
Woken about an hour ago by heavy rain which is now, I Hope easing a bit.
Going to Birmingham to have lunch with DD and hopefully see the DGCs after school although they have tennis etc (indoor!)
Thinking of all with troubles , especially Gillybob and wishing you some light t the end of the tunnel.

kittylester Thu 07-Nov-19 07:14:15

Morning all from a very wet North Leicestershire.

I could have gone back to sleep again but our cleaner comes on Thursdays! Sainsbury's for me, eventually, and a concert this evening.

Thinking of gillybob and hoping for some change in her husband.

Mythbirtthedragon Thu 07-Nov-19 07:27:50

Good morning from east London, rain has stopped for the moment but ominous grey sky. Tennis at 9.30 this morning; there was a bit of a hiatus yesterday when someone playing in a different group collapsed on court and had to be taken off to hospital. Hopefully he’ll be feeling better soon. Got to do some packing this afternoon then off to choir tonight. Hope everyone has a reasonable day.

Urmstongran Thu 07-Nov-19 07:28:53

. Still working on St Mark's cathedral. They possibly built the original quicker

Thanks Ginny42 for my first smile of the day - very witty!

Good morning everyone from Malaga where it’s still, warm but not sunny (yet). A good deal of white cloud about. The swallows are performing their amazing swoops and aerodynamics.

A relaxing day for us as we strolled into Torremolinos (9 miles) yesterday along La Carihuela and up the 100 tiny mosaic steps of the old town into the lovely squares. Quaint to think on the early 60’s Torremolinos was the honeymoon destination for Mr & Mrs Terry Wogan!

I was wondering which of the retirees I passed might have been you Pantglas!

We got the train home!

Hope Thursday (already?) is good to us all, especially the gillybobs, whether we have plans or (like me) none. x

Grammaretto Thu 07-Nov-19 07:30:28

Good morning from the Scottish Borders. It's dry so far.

I spent hours trying to organise photos on the computer last night.
At least was good to see them again!

A bit of housework and visit to a sick friend is today's plan.
Sending good wishes to Gilly and all the poorly people on here.

BlueSapphire Thu 07-Nov-19 07:30:57

Good morning everyone from a very wet Northampton. At least it didn't start raining yesterday till I was on my way back from Milton Keynes; I did not find a necklace, but came home with some new ankle boots instead. Noticed yesterday that my 10 yr old ones were starting to split. Had a nice lunch in Cafe Rouge, and 25% off the bill as I had a code.

Sainsbury's delivery this morning then ballet class after lunch, and then pick up DGD from school. Don't need to give her tea tonight, just a snack, so we may make some pancakes.

I am making Spaghetti Amatriciana this evening, as I found a pack of diced pancetta in the fridge which needs using by tomorrow.

Like Mick I have booked early for stuff next year. Already got my holidays booked for April and July, and a Royal Albert Hall concert in March.

Thinking of all with worries.

NannyJan53 Thu 07-Nov-19 07:33:28

Good Morning from a drizzly Black Country.

Had a lovely lunch and catch up with my friend. We have known each other since we were 18! Had large gaps over time when we had very limited contact, but now only live 10 minutes walk from each other.

Today, I will drive over to Wolverhampton to spend time with Mum, I daresay we will go out to lunch smile

I hope you have sorted your leaking roof out now kitty? We have had a couple of leaks in this house, one of which was difficult to diagnose. We now have a leaking garage roof!

Please carry on with your Malaga adventures Urmston I can visualise all the places you describe.

Also thinking of gillybob and hoping there is a positive change soon.

Good morning everyone, damp but bright here in Torbay today, still under duvet with cup of tea, knit and natter this morning will take the sock I’m knitting very slowly, I think I do more batter than knit!
Good wishes to all and hope the day treats everyone well .

harrigran Thu 07-Nov-19 07:34:47

Good morning from a grey NE where we had heavy overnight rain.
DH is doing the school run, a 45 minute drive to collect GD and then a 30 minute drive to school which commences at 8.30.
Today GD's bedroom makeover commences so DH and I will return to oversee the work.
Waking thoughts are with Gilly as always. Please let this be the day we get good news.

Nanabanana1 Thu 07-Nov-19 07:35:28

Natter not batter x

Lins1066 Thu 07-Nov-19 07:43:42

Good Morning from a dry S Welsh coast.
DH going to the NT property where he works on the website as a volunteer. He hasn't been able to go for weeks as he's been looking after me, however our cleaner comes on a Thursday, so there will be someone here with me and I have finally persuaded him to go.
Hope for some better news for gilly.

GrannyGravy13 Thu 07-Nov-19 07:44:29

cornergran Thu 07-Nov-19 07:45:39

Morning snick, morning All from a still damp corner of Somerset. Need but definitely don't want to phone the dentist, carelessly lost a piece of tooth yesterday so an uncomfortable night. Other than that it’s catch up and cleaning for me today. Thoughts as ever are with gilly and her husband, their situation puts a sore tooth into perspective. Hope Thursday is kind to everyone.

NanKate Thu 07-Nov-19 07:52:43

Morning Mick and All.

Cloud and blue sky in South Bucks.

Have to wait in all day for a call by the Doc. I want to persuade him to up my tablets when I think he will try to reduce them. A tricky conversation.

You do like a big project Ginny painting St. Mark’s Cathedral. I hope you have enough paint ?

If you lived near me in the south or Mary in the north Sapphire we could have lent you a necklace/pendant between us we have over about 100 !

? The Gillybobs.

Marydoll Thu 07-Nov-19 07:53:05

Good morning all from a chilly Glasgow, it's dry for now, but I suspect it won't last.
A man after my own heart, Mick. DH is in the process of booking next year's trip to Rome in September, ( cheap flights) I'm always the optimist. However, I have resigned myself to this being this will be my last visit there.

I misread Ginny's comment as someone she knew was working on St Mark's Cathedral. grin

Nothing much planned today, apart from sweeping up the leaves in the garden, how I regret planting all those trees twenty five years ago, when we moved in!! It seemed a great idea at the time.

Just like Blue Sapphire, I'm planning to cook an Italian dish. I have Italian sausages in the fridge and I have been looking in my cookbooks for inspiration. ? Any suggestions would be appreciated.
During my browsing this morning, (I went down for painkillers early and got distracted by the cookery books) I saw some recipes for Italian biscuits, which I may give a try later.

Sending positive vibes and prayers to Gilly and her husband (and all those suffering) and hoping for a glimmer of good news.

PS. My cooker is gleaming after yesterday's big clean, but still no missing tablets. I'm stumped! sad.

Yiayia4 Thu 07-Nov-19 07:57:29

Alygran Thu 07-Nov-19 07:58:38

Good morning from North Yorkshire. I haven’t opened the curtains yet so have no idea what the weather is like.
Had a lovely walk at Fountains Abbey yesterday. It started to rain as I was as far away from the car as I could be. Called into the coffee shop (or is it a tea room) and had hot chocolate with marshmallows and cream and a piece of cake.
Meeting a friend in town for coffee this morning. Definitely no cake today! Top up food shopping too.
Hope everyone has a good day. Safe travels GG13.
Thinking of Gilly and those with struggles.

dragonfly46 Thu 07-Nov-19 08:12:15

Good morning from as kitty says, a very wet Leicestershire. Hope you have got your roof fixed!

Meeting friends for coffee this morning to sort the state of the country out - well somebody’s got to.

As always sending good wishes to the Gillybobs and hope you are improving Lins.

Sar53 Thu 07-Nov-19 08:13:44

Good morning everyone from a very wet Essex by the sea. DH is away and I am still in bed reading. He is in Birmingham at a meeting and will be home late this afternoon.
I'm trying to decide what to do today. I need a few bits at the supermarket and there is some ironing to do. Not a lot of enthusiasm for anything !!!
Hopefully some better news from Gillybobs today.
Have a good day everyone.

Sar53 Thu 07-Nov-19 08:14:33

I meant to say to GG13 have a great trip to Kenya.

Susan56 Thu 07-Nov-19 08:16:13

Good morning from a very wet Shropshire.
I am going to the foot clinic this morning which is always relaxing, she finishes off the treatment with a foot massage using lovely oils so should be walking on air later.Hoping DH can be trusted for an hour alone??
School pick up later and then out for tea with our eldest daughter and family.
Pantglas,my husband had his surgery at Gobowen last week.We are very lucky as it is only a couple of miles from where we live. The care he received was fantastic, your DH will be in good hands.
Urmstongran, your walk down the coast has made me remember lovely holidays in Benalmadena. We have booked a trip to Holland in Easter next year but am thinking a trip to Benalmadena May be on the cards later in the year.
Sending good wishes to Lins, dragonfly and anyone unwell or with other worries.Marydoll, sounds like you are feeling better but don’t overdo it.
Thinking of you gilly and your dear husband.Hoping yesterday was a better day.Sending love, thoughts and prayers to you and your family.x
