Good Morning Everyone,
Its dark and wet here in Brackley this morning , venturing out later weekly shop, and maybe pop into Banbury , am interested in buying a Parka coat , which should keep warm when outside..
Other than that will be watching the Track Cycling from Glasgow , on the BBC red button most of the weekend starting tonight, its Olympic qualify for some track events , GB needs to improve in some areas.

Good morning all from N Bucks.
Opened half an eye and it is cold here! Back very late (for me) from Birmingham to see DD and family, so shall be collecting Hattie from what is fast becoming her “country “ second home, the kennels in Salcey Forest about 10 miles away. Back in a bit to see how you all are, but in the meantime, wishing you all a pleasant day.

Morning Mick, nina, all.

Its dry but not too cold in North Leicestershire. The children bought me a place on a Silver Clay course on the other side of the county but we have had huge amounts of rain lately and I'm not sure of the best way to go. I could be some time!

Slightly better news from gilly yesterday so hopefully things will now be looking up.

harrigran Fri 08-Nov-19 06:59:38

Good morning from a cold wet NE.
DH left at 6.30 to collect GD from next county and deliver her to school, he will be back to collect me in a couple of hours and then we will house sit while bedroom fitters finish GD's room. Collecting younger GC from school and bringing them back for the weekend.
I thought retirement was about taking it easy hmm
Thoughts are with gilly and her DH and hoping for news of improvement.

Good Morning to all and to those who follow from a dark Fife, can't see what the weather is but according to forecast it's to be a nice enough day. I'm glad as we have our DGS's today so will get out and about until nursery time. Can't believe it's Friday again. Thoughts are with gilly hope there is improvement. Hope everyone has a good day.

Good Morning everyone.
Damp on Severnside and we are going to have a cold day. I’m doing two shops again today. The second will probably come to an end soon as my friend is recovering from her operation.
Have a good day everyone, thoughts for gilly ?

Grammaretto Fri 08-Nov-19 07:12:27

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders . Dry so far but I said that yesterday and was wrong. I feel sorry for those in Yorkshire, trapped by floods.
Yoga this morning.
Thinking of Gilly and her husband and hope the day brings better news.

Beechnut Fri 08-Nov-19 07:13:21

I hope you enjoy your course kitty. Any idea what you will make?

dragonfly46 Fri 08-Nov-19 07:14:45

Good morning just starting to rain in Leicestershire - remembered I hadn’t put the bin out!

My DH doesn’t mind shopping Nina as long as coffee is involved.

Your course sounds interesting kitty hope you can circumvent the floods.

Love to Gilly.

Good morning from a still dark Bristol a bit of rain in the night.
Going for an eye test today, I think I might need new glasses this time then I will have a look at the shops.
DD and DGS coming tomorrow for the weekend, DD husband is still working away and only gets home every second weekend hopefully only until Christmas. It has been a long slog for her and with a baby
I hope everyone has a lovely Friday and gillybob gets some good news.

cornergran Fri 08-Nov-19 07:20:42

Morning Mick, morning All from a chilly, damp corner of Somerset. Meeting to go to this morning then an on line food shop to prepare. May get a short walk as the forecast is for dry weather later. Been looking at frightening images of flooding, we’re much more fortunate than some this morning, stay safe anyone close by. As ever gilly and her husband are in my thoughts. Hope Friday is kind to everyone.

NanKate Fri 08-Nov-19 07:24:34

Morning Mick and All.

First real frost of the year here in South Bucks.

Mickif you have a Mountain Warehouse near you do check them out. We have had some really good bargains from there. You could find the parka coat you want.

I’ve never heard of a silver clay course Kitty how interesting.

I’m just going to the library this morning and having a general pootle.

Hope for some continuing improvement for the Gillybobs.

Marydoll Fri 08-Nov-19 07:26:46

Good morning all from a very cold Glasgow.

The usual pottering about early looking for painkillers, but it has been a productive morning so far: eyebrows tidied up, nails painted and facial done, with DD's special elixir drops. (I think it will take more than that to make me look younger. ) grin.
This is of course is a good sign, as up until recently I haven't really cared what I looked like! wink

I got little of what I planned done yesterday. No baking, no pills found. sad
I had to make a mad dash to DS1's to let the washing machine engineer in. DIL phoned him on her way to work and he said he could come right way. When has an engineer ever been available so quickly?
It needs a part, again, so I have piles of washing to do for them.
DGD came home from nursery covered in black paint, her top has been soaking all night in Vanish Platinum and it has made no impact at all on the stains. Any suggestions, clever grans?

On the way home, I spotted a parking spot outside a lovely gift shop we have in town, so decided to go in for a browse.
It is crammed with beautiful gifts, but there is not much room.
A lady, unaware that I was there, decided to bend down to look at something, as I was squeezing past. In trying to avoid her derrière in my face, I tried to move aside, stumbled into a display and SMASHED a glass Christmas ornament. blush ?
She quickly disappeared to the other end of the shop, leaving me to apologise to the owner and having to PAY for the damage. angry

Good luck with the parka Mick, I'm trying to persuade DH to get one for our trip New York and time is running out, as usual he is resisting!

Kitty, I would love to do the course you are doing. envy. I used to make so much jewellery before my hands let me down.

DH has offered to take me for a bar lunch at the golf club, if I drive and consequently he will be able to have a pint of Guiness!
It's a fair trade, as it means I won't have to cook dinner tonight.
The only downside is that it is all uphill, on a twisty, winding country road and what goes up, must come back down!
It will be good for me to drive, as I'm beginning to lose my confidence.

Hoping and praying Gilly may have some more promising news for us today.

Enjoy your day, whatever your plans.

dragonfly46 Fri 08-Nov-19 07:37:52

Gosh Mary what an eventful life you lead.
Are you sure you didn’t miscount the pills?

NfkDumpling Fri 08-Nov-19 07:40:42

Morning All

Bright and still here in Norfolk, but apparently all the rain that’s deluging the north will swing our way this afternoon.

Off to art class this morning. Trying to get back into the swing of actually doing some painting.

Make haste slowly Marydoll!

Hopefully Mr Gillybob has maintained his improvement. ??

NannyJan53 Fri 08-Nov-19 07:42:22

Good Morning from a fairly bright Black Country.

We are off on the train to Southport this afternoon, for a weekend of Rock Music. We decided not to drive as the M6 is always manic on a Friday afternoon. So need to get packing soon!

Isn't that always the way Marydoll, someone causes an accident, then disappears! Leaving someone else to pick up the pieces.

Enjoy your course Kitty I too have never heard of this.

Harrigran since I retired I have never been so busy smile

gillybob I hope yesterdays cautious good news continues today. As ever you are in my thoughts.

Kalu Fri 08-Nov-19 07:45:52

Good morning from a frosty Glasgow

Cleaners arriving this morning to do a deep clean as doing a lick and a promise on what feels like the Forth Road Bridge just doesn’t cut it and is something beyond my abilities now.

I like the sound of your course kitty. Something I would enjoy and I hope you have safe travels and an enjoyable experience. You must show us what you have made. No pressure?

After your post yesterday gilly, I am willing your DH to turn a corner with more signs of recovery?

Take care today Marydoll and I don’t want to hear you have ventured out on such a cold, frosty day?

Have a pleasant day all and positive thoughts to those with whatever their struggles may be.

Nanabanana1 Fri 08-Nov-19 07:47:18

Good morning everyone, quiet day for me today, dog walk and house work. Pick grandchildren up later to stay for the weekend, will do some baking as they are always hungry ?
Good wishes to everyone today.

Mythbirtthedragon Fri 08-Nov-19 07:50:44

Good morning from east London, lovely bright morning with a light frost. Plan for today is to pack this morning then travel to Stansted ahead of rush hour and have an early night as we have an early morning flight to Fuerteventura tomorrow. Hope everyone has a good day.

Kalu Fri 08-Nov-19 07:59:12

Oops, too late, you are going out Marydoll. Slap on? and back behind the steering wheel? Drive carefully and enjoy being more independant. Have a good time but maybe not a good idea to visit any small gift shops?

Yiayia4 Fri 08-Nov-19 07:59:49

Morning all from a very frosty Surrey.Shopping today have some Next vouchers to spend.
Hope for more good news from Gilly, have a good Friday everyone.

lovebeigecardigans1955 Fri 08-Nov-19 08:00:31

Morning all from a damp and chilly South Notts. Will spend a quiet day, not visiting sister so I really should catch up on, ahem, housework.
A parka makes a lovely warm coat, Mick, I bought one ages ago with a detachable inner waistcoat and it's seen me through many a winter.
Oh marydoll I bet you paid up with gritted teeth.
Best wishes to gilly and all those with worries.
