What are you all wearing over Christmas, ? Have you got a couple of new outfits for a definate occasion , or do you buy things to have in just in case something turns up,

BBbevan Fri 15-Nov-19 17:57:56

Usually something nice covered with a pinnie

MissAdventure Fri 15-Nov-19 17:58:41

My dressing gown. smile
Old, ugly, but comfortable.

I bought a silly Xmas jumper last year with bells on. Had to take them off. Something warm as my daughter’s house is cooler than mine

M0nica Fri 15-Nov-19 18:05:06

Apart from the occasional (twice in the last 30 years) joky Christmas sweater I do not think I have ever bought any clothes especially for Christmas.

Davida1968 Fri 15-Nov-19 18:06:42

Just the same as M0nica. Plus (sometimes) a Christmas "Santa" hat, which I've I've had for years.

I don't usually buy a Christmas outfit. I just wear my best warm winter clothes.
This year we are going to the pub my son runs with his partner.
I don't consider it a dressy occasion.

Haven't bought anything as yet, other than a nice new jacket which was not bought with Christmas in mind.

On the big day we will wear our christmas jumpers, as it will be rolling around the floor with grandchildren playing whetever ? brings.

I do have nice new 'leisure suit,' which again wasn't bought for xmas period, but will be nice comfy when enjoying a nice
slobbing chill out day eating all the leftovers.
Added advantage is the elastic waistband ?

Christmas jumpers end up feeling too hot in centrally heated houses with extended family! Layers, people.
?

Cherrytree59 Fri 15-Nov-19 19:00:06

Yep,Urmston ?
I said jumper, but it is actually more of a sweatshirt material and will have a cotton top underneath in readiness for the dreaded hot flush or several.?

Callistemon Fri 15-Nov-19 19:14:08

Comfy trousers and top!
Nothing too warm

Iam64 Fri 15-Nov-19 19:18:26

Something very comfortable in which I can cook the meal and play with the children.
Nothing that stains easily, or won't go in the washing machine.
A bit of me would quite like to dress up a bit but I'm a practical person.

No special Christmas clothes. Something I feel comfortable in and can relax while wearing. My one Christmas jumper is 9 years old, I wear it for an afternoon tea a few days before Christmas then it goes back in the drawer smile.

Comfortable is the order of my day I hate dressing up.

Whitewavemark2 Fri 15-Nov-19 19:34:50

I’m out to eat this year at my sisters with the whole family. Plus 3 dogs. (I did the meal last year) so I have a red dress lined up. Nice to dress up.
Boxing Day we all go walking - dogs Christmas walk - before trooping back to sons (this year) so trousers and a blue sweater with penguins on front, which comes out every year. ?

FlexibleFriend Fri 15-Nov-19 20:20:59

I buy myself something comfortable to lounge around in on Christmas day.

Alima Fri 15-Nov-19 21:58:17

Only today I bought myself a new Christmas t shirt. Have had a lovely bright Christmas sweatshirt for the last few years but that is far too small for me now. Also be too hot, my thermostat is completely up the creek now.

Dillyduck Fri 15-Nov-19 22:08:40

Lots of pretty sparkly clothes in John Lewis today, but not OTT. Peacocks have more Christmassy things.

annep1 Fri 15-Nov-19 22:17:44

Not buying another new top to be worn once or twice. I have a few colourful casual/dressy tops hardly worn as don't go out as much now. My husband plays guitar with a group at a community lunch on Christmas day. I always go too and I shall wear one of these with leggings or trousers.

grapefruitpip Fri 15-Nov-19 22:19:47

a body stocking.

Lisagran Fri 15-Nov-19 22:22:03

A christmas body stocking, gfp?

janeainsworth Fri 15-Nov-19 22:29:38

I don’t buy anything special for Christmas but I do dress up.
Last year it was my purple velvet Bombshell dress ?

lemongrove Fri 15-Nov-19 22:32:48

I expect it’s gfp’s little joke Lisa ?

I have a comfortable plum coloured dress with sleeves (bought recently from Wallis) which I will bling up a bit with a chunky necklace, and wear with leggings and flat ballerina style shoes.

Vonners Fri 15-Nov-19 22:38:26

I dont buy anything new and definately not a Christmas jumper. I know some of you keep them for the next year but so many are bought, worn once and end up in landfill :-(

Chestnut Fri 15-Nov-19 23:15:39

I like to dress up on Christmas Day and have a beautiful sparkly red jumper which looks more glamorous than my everyday wear. I sometimes wear flashing earrings or maybe a big spray of red berries. But this year I'm going for a festive Christmas scarf over the red jumper.
