Good Morning Everyone,
Its dark but looks dry and cold outside.
After an evening of frustration yesterday, arrived home could not get mainstream TV channels in the anchor residence where I am , so with a BT Box watched some Eurosport, then a DVD.
Today , Hope TV Ariel gets fixed as think management will have plenty of complaints.
But I plan to get out and go into Banbury for a meal and some beers ,and hope things sort themselves, plus do my weekly shop as well.
Mick

Good Morning Mick and all to come.
I am excited today as I am off with my DD and DGS to Chatsworth House for the Christmas Market and a tour of the house. Meeting my Sister and her DD and DGD. A cold day but going to stay dry, perfect Christmas Market weather.
Hope all are well and have a good day. Hope Mr Gillybob continues to make progress.

Good Morning everyone.

Dark with a better forecast today.

Apart from grocery shopping to be done today I’ve some other shopping and I’m trying to find excuses to not do it ☹️

I hope you got your tooth pain sorted gilly and your DH is still making good steps.

I’m looking forward to hearing about your New York trip Marydoll. I’m another one who always wanted to go but probably won’t. I have flown over it though. I watch the airport programmes. The last two trips to US I have found that TSA have opened my case.

Let’s all have a good Friday whatever we do ?

GrannyGravy13 Fri 29-Nov-19 07:05:46

Good morning Mick and all.

It is still dark in S E Essex, had a better nights sleep so feeling a bit better today, only four more days of anti-malaria medication whoopee!!!

NanKate Fri 29-Nov-19 07:06:42

Morning Mick and All.

Clear cold morning here in South Bucks.

We are going to the first day of the 1940s Christmas decorations at NT Hughenden Disraeli’s home. I am doing a reccy too as I am going with the WI and I need to check out the parking for those with mobility problems. We will have our lunch there which will save me cooking tonight- hurray!

Enjoy your day at Chatsworth Scentia fabulous place.

Hope your tv viewing is sorted out today Mick.

kittylester Fri 29-Nov-19 07:15:08

Morning all from a cold and dry North Leicestershire which is a bit of a problem as we are going Christmas shopping - do I wrap up and keep warm outside or dress for overheated shops?

Hope your tv is sorted by the time you get back, Mick - very frustrating for you.

Enjoy Chatsworth, scentia. It will be busy!

Hope you have a good day and a lovely lunch Kate.

gillybob, I hope the tooth is easier today and that mrgillybob continues to improve.

Newquay Fri 29-Nov-19 07:30:38

Heavy frost overnight here in Staffs. Put wash on last night as sunny but cold windy day forecast here so will hang wash out soon as taking DH to town early as his art group is having exhibition-he does so like making an exhibition of himself! I’ll then do supermarket shop and put in petrol-which always makes me slightly anxious for some strange reason?

Lins1066 Fri 29-Nov-19 07:34:07

Good Morning from the S Welsh coast.
Off to the hospital for a bone scan this morning, we rang up yesterday and there was a cancellation - the waiting time is 7 months.
NanKate we went to Hughenden last year. Ask about the disabled parking at the entrance. The main car park is down the hill but we were allowed to go up nearer the house, the hill was a bit bumpy though.
Have a wonderful trip Marydoll, I will be thinking of you and looking forward to your novellas.
Have a good day everyone.

Urmstongran Fri 29-Nov-19 07:35:19

Good morning everyone from Malaga where the sun is up - the forecast for the whole of next week is glorious actually. Yesterday I sat reading on the balcony and needed sunscreen. It was 27°C!

Had my highlights done and I’m pleased with the result. I went for a Chinese last night with a friend and we had such a laugh together. She’s 84y and great fun.

Himself wasn’t home till well after midnight. He’d gone out to a bar with a couple of fellas from Glasgow - they live out here with their wives) - to watch a Rangers match and have a few beers .... he might have a sore head when he wakes up (says Mrs. Smug!)

No plans for today, will see what unfolds.

Scentia I think Chatsworth is where P&P was filmed and it’s our book club read at the moment. I hope you have a wonderful day.

I like visiting these beautiful places but the inner (commie) me gets a bit cross as I wander round, inwardly challenging why it is that the landed gentry are entitled to SO much! Am I the only one to be like that?
?

Glad to hear you’re feeling less yukkie today GG13 horrid side effects of what was to keep you safe.

Not sure when you fly to NY Marydoll is it today?

Oh just thought of something else to tell you. (Sorry this is turning into War & Peace) it’s the Christmas lights switch on in Malaga city tonight. 42 arches of new LED lights along Calle Larios and surrounding pedestrianised retail area. Antonio Banderas (Malaga born) is doing the honours apparently according to the local newspaper. Someone told me in the week that the old (still spectacular) lights were sold to Liverpool?

A special shout out as ever to you gillybob and hope Friday is kind to us all whether we have plans or (like me) none. x

cornergran Fri 29-Nov-19 07:41:59

Morning Mick, morning All from a dry, chilly corner of Somerset. Routine day other than delivering a birthday gift to our daughter in law. Energy and enthusiasm in short supply here. Hope your husband continues to improve and the tooth settles gilly, if not please get thee back to the dentist. Wishing everyone as good a day as it can be.

annsixty Fri 29-Nov-19 07:47:21

Good morning all.
I read every morning but seldom post.
Just had to correct Urmstongran as I believe P&P was partly filmed at Lyme Park just up the road from me.
If any was filmed at Chatsworth, humble apologies.
It is dark and cold here but I don't need to go out today.

Brunette10 Fri 29-Nov-19 07:50:32

Good Morning from a cold Fife, however better than rain and wind. Have DGS's today so have busy day in front. Thoroughly enjoyed our trip to Glasgow yesterday and lunch with my Uncle. Needless to say today will be full of activities and fun before DGS1 goes off to nursery. Marydoll I hope you have a wonderfully time in NY, don't think about anything else apart from that wonderful city, enjoy it all, you have made it after all these doubts. We are all envious wink. Have a good day all.

Marydoll Fri 29-Nov-19 07:51:15

Good morning all from an icy Glasgow, it's -2C/28F, good weather to help me to get acclimatised to the NY weather, the forecast is sleet and snow.

The good news is that I eventually got the anti nausea tablets and my GP had given me two boxes, what a relief!
The bad news, I left my bag with the tablets on a bus!! ? Don't panic everyone, I did get them back. I was totally distracted, as I had a near miss driving into town. I got off the bus to realise I didn't have my bag, it was lying on the seat. Luckily, I managed to get the driver's attention, as he drove away.
I sunddenly felt very old and doddery. sad.

I had driven part of the way to the doctor's and then jumped struggled onto a bus, as the traffic and parking was horrendous.
As I came through the traffic lights, (I was at the front of the queue) a car came from nowhere and tried to come up my driver's side, but there wasn't room for it. (They must have jumped the lights across the junction), then cut across three lanes in front of me. I had to swerve, nearly hit the car on my left, then the car behind me tried to avoid me. I was shaking like a leaf and needed my angina spray when I managed to park.

Anyway, it didn't stop me browsing in the shops. When I went into the optician's my sister in law was there, she had gone in to see my DIL and decided to wait when she heard I was coming in to get my specs adjusted.

We ended up spending most of the day together, so it was a rush to get DH from the station and do the nursery run. I had to lie down when I got back. ?
My plan was to finish my packing etc, so it will have to be today.

I'm off to NY tomorrow morning, I'm really nervous about it all. This is not like me, I'm usually so excited about travelling. The thought that this will be one of my last trips abroad due to my health, (or even the last) is making me quite sad.
It's the loss of independence which is upsetting me and the worry that I may spoil it for everyone, by being slow or feeling unwell.
I know I'm being selfish, only thinking of myself.
Wait until I hit the shops with the Black Friday bargains, I will perk up. I have always wanted to visit NY, but DH always resisted, even when his brother was based there, working for the Government.
DH has been presuaded to come as my "Minder"! grin. Although he won't admit it, I suspect he is quite excited.

DS1 has all the paperwork and stuff on his phone and I think Being a control freak, I'm not coping well with not being in control.?.
I'm a teacher, I need to organise people!
All of you with trips today, have a great time, I'm envious!
It's getting more like Christmas.

So glad to hear better news of the Gillybobs, but I hope Gilly gets some relief from the pain.

I shall pop in BRIEFLY to say Hello/goodbye in the morning.
Have a good day everyone.

BlueSapphire Fri 29-Nov-19 07:55:32

Good morning all from a very frosty and bright Northampton. What a relief that the rain has stopped, although DGD and I managed to avoid the worst of it on our walk home from school yesterday.

Off to a garden centre the other side of town today to look at a handbag for DD for Christmas; I have seen it on the internet and could order it off the site, but I'd rather like to see what I'm getting with this. The garden centre has a franchise for the company and according to them it is in stock there. It will be a morning out and I shall have a good look round and a coffee while I'm there.

Then a stop off at Boots to pick up some aftershave for DS and some low-dose aspirin. Then into Sainsburys as they have 25% off clothes this weekend!

Hope there is more good news from Gilly.

DoraMarr Fri 29-Nov-19 07:55:43

Good morning from a bright but frosty Birmingham. I’m off shortly to collect my grandaughter, who is being dropped of at my other daughters, my grandson and, if I can fit them in, my daughter and the baby, who are all coming here. My eldest daughter still isn’t able to drive after her op, but really wants to get out of the house after such a dismally rainy week. We’ll go for a nice frosty walk in the park and have a coffee in the Arts Centre. We’re all thinking of going out for an early meal with the children later, which will be nice.
I hope you get your TV aerial sorted, Micheal, and that everyone has a good day.

Greyduster Fri 29-Nov-19 08:16:03

Good morning, Michael and all GNs. It is cold and clear in South Yorkshire this morning. This little fella was waiting his turn on thebird feeder! Sooner him than me! We have to have an ‘in’ day today waiting for deliveries, so I have cleaning and baking to do. Enjoy Chatsworth, Scentia; they push the boat out at Christmas! Ann I know they shot the dawn scenes in P&P on Stanage Edge - a favourite stamping ground of ours - which is not far from Chatsworth, but I don’t know if they filmed any of it at the house. Have a good day folks.

Pantglas2 Fri 29-Nov-19 08:20:26

Morning all from a dry and promising north Wales! Washing day with bedding change as who knows how long it’s going to last! I hate using my tumbledrier!

I also heard about Liverpool having Malaga lights Urmstongran- bet the new ones will be stunning! I hated taking malaria tabs grannygravy13- I’m not good with anything other than painkillers now and again!

I’m off to make a Thai green chicken curry and a potter in the kitchen when I’ve promised DH a full Monty for brunch - I can hear him salivating already!

Good day for all please x

Grammaretto Fri 29-Nov-19 08:27:36

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. Its light so i must have overslept.
Reading of your shennanigans in Glasgow Marydoll I am anxious about your NY trip, never mind you!!

I hope all goes well for you all. Sending love and healthy vibes to Gillybob
Me? Yoga this am and then the hoards start arriving for the weekend.

loopylou Fri 29-Nov-19 08:31:34

Good morning, we have clear blue skies here in north Wiltshire at last! No frost but it's looking chilly.
Bath Christmas Market has started so I have every intention of avoiding the place for the next 18 days unless I drive in very early and get out before the hoards descend. It's totally overrated I imagine the one at Chatsworth must be spectacular, I wish we lived neaerer!
Will pop into local town for a few bits this morning then make a cake for my mother's 93rd birthday.
Have a lovely day everyone K

loopylou Fri 29-Nov-19 08:33:19

loopylou Fri 29-Nov-19 08:34:42

.....oh bum, should that be 'its'?

ninathenana Fri 29-Nov-19 08:35:20

Morning everyone.

It's a bright morning in Kent. Yesterdays trip to the optitians for DH and I did indeed prove very expensive.
DH is off shortly for his annual get together with the guys that he played football with in his 20s. Only a handful of the team left now but they are still good friends. He will stay will stay over night.

Enjoy your days.

vena11 Fri 29-Nov-19 08:35:30

Good morning from a bright chilly Bristol.
Going out to lunch today to the Bristol Lido and Spa, a voucher I kept forgetting about that I got last Christmas and it needs to be used before the 12th Dec.
Have a great holiday Marydoll
I know exactly what you mean about the great houses Urmston I feel like that sometimes but then I say, well they gave people employment and housing even although their wages were meagre.
gillybob hope you have got that tooth sorted and DH still improving.

Yiayia4 Fri 29-Nov-19 08:38:48
