Good Morning Everyone,
Its dark it doe not look as if it was as frosty as yesterday morning.
Quiet day today for me do some packing, as I am off on a short break tomorrow morning until Friday to Bournemouth , a festive break as opposed to a turkey and tinsel .
The TV situation as not changed , seems as though a part is needed so myself and others suffer another day without TV .
We have had electrocutions in rewiring , new lighting and smoke alarms plus new ceiling panels , which have covered over trap doors for TV cabling.
Hoping before I leave after 1030 tomorrow something has been done , but otherwise it will be when I get back will I have TV then .
Mick

Morning Mick, morning All from a cold, dry corner of Somerset. Goodness, Mick what a kerfuffle. Hope it’s sorted soon, in the meantime enjoy your break. Unusually early start for me after a disturbed night. Top up food shop this morning then best get in with the cards before family come for a quick meal this evening. Hope Sunday is kind to everyone and gilly has more positive news.

Morning Michael and all!

Going to Bournemouth too, but not till next week. Hoping for some nice sunshine. We love it down there! Now the ferry is up and running again too.

Enjoy your break Mick and fingers crossed you get some sunshine.

Good morning Mick from a frosty morning in Cheshire. What a lot of hassle for you, so perhaps as well you're going away for a few days until it's all sorted. Go and enjoy your break and watch favourite programmes there.

It was a glorious day yesterday, but very cold and I noticed that a little wren is back in its nest under my balcony. I planted some cyclamen and primulas in tubs at the front of the house, so I'm hoping they survive. They were outside at the garden centre.

Yesterday I had a new garden gate fitted and the man who made it didn't use the 'correct' shade of dark brown stain, so going to buy a darker one and if it's not too cold, I'll go over it today. Neighbours are quick to comment!

Hope Marydoll is now enjoying the Big Apple. Such good news from Gilly yesterday. Let's hope for more of the same today.

Have a good Sunday everyone and keep warm.

Good morning all three of us ! What a night, my neighbour had a party. It’s rare, I don’t mind but even though the noise wasn’t anything like a nuisance it was the cars coming and going all night that kept me awake. So I have been up since 3 and it’s all quiet now. I might make some hot chocolate and go back to bed with cat and book. I have nothing to do today apart from a bit of housework. Funnily enough my friend is going to Bournemouth next week. I haven’t been since I was a teenager. I am going to Manchester for a mooch next week and do my Christmas shopping. I love Manchester and the shops there.
I hope all will be well with you. Wrap up. Brrr !

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. I've not slept well. Big family lunch today to celebrate my in-laws' wedding anniversary. The clan is gathering. They had a card from the palace and are chuffed.
I don't like the sound of your electrocutioners Mick! sounds terminal.
It's not good having no TV.
I like listening to the cricket on the radio!
Have a nice day everyone and keep warm.

Good Morning all, had a great day at Chatsworth on Friday and had my DGS overnight so his mum could finish the decorating in readiness for his Daddy returning home from offshore. I love having him all to myself?
Today is a visit to the cemetery as it is 27 years ago today that we lost our Niece. I will take the dog and walk some of our old haunts we used to go to before we moved to Staffordshire. I wonder if she will remember the walks??
Hope you all enjoy your Sunday as the weather looks fine.

Good Morning everyone from a dark and damp Severnside.

I wrote most of my cards out yesterday and will finish off later. I want to find some jokes to add for a Christmas chuckle.

I will pop over later to a local village for a Christmas event and have a browse.

Enjoy your trip Mick and hope all of you enjoy your own events and celebrations today ?

Beechnut Sun 01-Dec-19 07:18:15

Pinch punch ?

Good Morning All x.

Another hard frost, so it's white everywhere. I was awake at 5am got up made a cuppa and let the cats out. I hope the old stray cat is alright outside in his kennel. It's got a nice fleece inside so there's a bit of comfort for him poor old thing.

A chicken roast for today so I'll whip up a ginger sponge pudding and bung that in the oven with it. White sauce with that. Should keep the cold out.

Poor Mick without his TV, I'd go mad. Can't do without the telly.

Must get my Christmas cards this week,I seem to get less and less organised each year, but not to worry they'll get done.

Hoping to hear continued good news from the Gillybobs and sending my best wishes to them xx

Take care underfoot those who have frost and keep warm and cold-free. Have a peaceful Sunday.

Good morning everyone from a dark and damp Northampton. I cannot believe that it is Advent Sunday. Where has the year gone?

A very good win for us at rugby yesterday - we beat Leicester, our arch-rivals, 36-13. It was a perfect day for it, clear skies, dry and cold, but the way the team were playing kept me warm, (along with a red wine!) Once I got home I watched the match again as I had recorded it!

Planning on making the sausage rolls that DS has requested for Christmas today. Suddenly remembered in the middle of the night that the puff pastry was still in the freezer and needed thawing out, so up I got to do that! And then rushed back to my warm bed.

Hope we have more good news today from Gilly.

Good morning everyone from a cold but not frosty Essex by the sea. I will be putting the tree up this morning whilst DH takes his DGS to rugby. I am off to stay with DD1 on Wednesday for a few days so must get things done here before I go.
Roast lamb for dinner, it had better taste good, it cost an arm and a leg !!!
Have a lovely warm and toasty Sunday everyone.

DoraMarr Sun 01-Dec-19 07:47:46

Good morning from a bright Birmingham. I seem to have caught the family cold, so didn’t have a good night. I was planning to go for coffee with friends and visit a craft market with my daughter, but will see how I feel later. It may be just a curl up with a book day for me.

kittylester Sun 01-Dec-19 07:50:01

Morning all from a freezing North Leicestershire.

Dh spent the night in Cambridge so I've had to make my own tea this morning and his side of the bed is very icy!

A bittinv and bobbing dah looms here before roast pork for dinner. I will also be making Gary Rhodes creamed cabbage to go with it.

I hope your tv is sorted mick at least by the time you get back from your break.

Hoping all is going well for marydoll and, of course, love and best wishes to gillybob and her dh. I hope the good news keeps coming.!

Morning All

It looks as if its going to be another clear, bright and rather chilly autumn day here in then north of Norfolk.

DGdog got me up early indicating that he needed to visit the garden with some urgency. He then required his breakfast followed by another trip into the garden. He's now returned to the bedroom to keep DH company. Are we Am I spoiling him?

DS should be over some time this morning to collect said dog, but I rather think he may be late. Mysterious panel lights came on in their car while they driving home from Lapland UK (a three hour drive) so in case of engine failure they avoided the motorways which took a lot longer. It was nearly midnight by the time they got back. Hopefully it was worth it.

Then this afternoon we're off to a friends to collect some very professional wooden snowmen her DGS has made.

Hopefully Marydoll has landed ok and the family re-united from around the plane.

And hopefully there'll be more good news from Gilly.

Good morning everyone from a cold morning outside Belfast. I enjoy reading all your posts and sometimes think about joining in. I was sitting having a cup of tea with my DH yesterday afternoon when I noticed he was watching the Northampton rugby match in television. I nearly said out loud " I wonder where Blue Sapphire is sitting " Don't know what he would have made of that. I hope Marydoll has a great time in New York and Mr Gillybob continues to improve.

NanKate Sun 01-Dec-19 08:10:15

Morning Mick and all.

Have a great break Mick we we will hold the Fort for you whilst you are away. I love Bournemouth. Do check out if there is a show at The Pavilion. We saw Jesus Christ Super Star there in the summer and it was brilliant.

You need a hot water bottle beside you Kitty whilst your DH is galavanting.

Cold and just a few clouds here in South Bucks. I think we will be having a coffee at NT Cliveden this morning.

I wonder if Mary has taken her IPad so that she can keep us up to speed with her hols.

Love to the Gillybobs ??

NanKate Sun 01-Dec-19 08:11:42

Welcome flowerlover ???

Auntieflo Sun 01-Dec-19 08:16:25

Good morning MIchael, Annie and all, on this frosty morning.
Mick, you made me smile with thoughts of your electrocutions in the apartments. I hope you enjoy your short break away. We could do with one, but can't summon up the energy somehow. Perhaps we need you to organise it smile
Off to Church later and the first Advent candle will be lit. The little ones like to help, and I like the advent candle song.
Later I may make a cake, but not promising anything, or perhaps I should make a start on wrapping a few bits and pieces.
DH is in the midst of a cold and for him to say he feels 'one degree under' means he doesn't feel at all well.
Here's hoping Marydoll arrived intact in NY and it isn't too cold.
To the Gillybobs , have a more restful weekend, and to Luckygirl, who is having a stressful time, loving thoughts to you all.
Enjoy your day, whatever you have planned.

December already! Frosty here in Staffs. Took choc nativity advent calendars to young neighbours last night after their lovely children were in bed?
Then wrapped dear sister’s birthday present-meeting her and her family for lunch today. Will have to leave church early to get there-we have communion on the first Sunday of the month so hope it’s before we sneak out! Have assembled gift for French goddaughter ready to post. Last year she received an empty envelope!! Shall write on in English AND French-it’s a calendar and chox not worth stealing!! Humph!

harrigran Sun 01-Dec-19 08:21:41

Good morning from a frosty NE.
Need to do some research on computer so that I can buy GD's present, oh for the days when a cuddly toy would have sufficed.
Hope Marydoll is prepared, weather warning for NY for tonight.
Sending love to the gillybobs.

Yiayia4 Sun 01-Dec-19 08:24:13

Morning all,another frosty one.

Slept very well last night after a few proseccos with DIL?Must get the Christmas decorations out of the loft and put the elf out before youngest grandson comes as the elf always appears on the 1st December.Taking him to our local garden centre later to see Santa. Our other DSs are all passed that now,it's a shame but they still enjoy the excitement of Christmas.

Wonderful news from Gillybob long may it continue, have a nice break Mick and everyone else have a lovely
Sunday.

Urmstongran Sun 01-Dec-19 08:30:00

Good morning everyone from Malaga where the sun is just peeping from behind some white clouds but the forecast is for wall-to-wall sunshine the next seven days so I think the sun will win out!

Poor you with NO tv Mick it’ll seem a long day! My husband will be watching Man. Utd match and the Grand Prix later so he’d really miss it! Me? Not so much.

1 December already. Ouch!

‘Pinch punch’ made me laugh! I remember that from the junior school playground .... so ‘a kick and a flick to you for being so quick!’ back to you Beechnut
?

Hello newbie flowerlover glad you joined us instead of lurking! Your comment about wondering where in the rugby crowed BlueSapphire might be was funny! It’s true though - we all become virtual friends on here and do care and sometimes wonder how the day is going for some.

Can’t wait to hear from Marydoll is she about 5 hours ahead of us so it’s already lunchtime there?

Love to you gillybob and hoping for more GOOD NEWS.

Hopefully Sunday will be kind to us all whether we have plans or (like me) none. x

Good Morning to all from a bright and frosty Fife. It looks lovely outside but it would - I'm inside wink. Good day yesterday at children's Christmas festivities with DD and 2 x DGS's. Everyone so far seems to be in a chirpy, cheery mood, I hope so. I also hope Gilly is feeling better too with more good news to come. I'm sure we will hear from Marydoll, she will be sleeping or at least in bed just now. Have quite a busy day doing housework, making steak pie and hopefully arranging all Christmas decorations to go up very soon. Hoping everyone has a good day.
