Good Morning Everyone,
Its dark, wet and windy the only way to describe the weather this morning here in Brackley .
Yesterday I did my usual trip by bus to Bicester and Buckingham .
Today , I have prepared a pork curry in the slow cooker , and should get 2 days of meals from it.
Plus get back up to scratch after the break I had.
Mick

Good afternoon,

I’m late posting as we’ve been away over night and just got back in the last hour. We had a lovely trip on a North Yorkshire Moors steam train which has been decorated on the outside with different coloured lights, they’ve called it “The Northern Lights”. As we passed through the countryside, the woodlands looked so pretty illuminated by the lights from the train, and there were little scenes set out along the route for the children to look out for. All very pretty. The trip was a surprise to me from my DH, and has started Christmas off nicely. Today we drove into Whitby and had a look at the shops and bought a few last minute Christmas gifts. We decided against a walk along the prom as it was a tad breezy!
When we got home and I checked my emails there was one from my brother announcing the arrival of his first grandchild, so that is the icing on the cake for us!

Hope you’ve all had a decent day. Some of those dinners sound scrumptious. I’ll be making spaghetti bolognese later for us - something quick to prepare.

Thinking of gilly and her DH.

Batten down the hatches, everyone, as it sounds as if we are in for a stormy night.

Good morning from a dry Bristol a bit windy and more to come I believe.
Not much on the cards for me today, we had a lovely walk around town yesterday to see the Christmas market, it was so busy we could hardly move, traffic was busy as there were hundreds of motor bikers going around town dressed as Santa Claus for charity.
I hope everyone has a lovely Sunday and as always thoughts for Gillybob

Good morning from a bright but very windy NE. It was a very noisy night.
DS and GD1 are visiting this afternoon after Christmas shopping so warming mince and dumplings are on the menu.
Put the Christmas tree up, DH put the lights on and I did the artistic stuff.
Decided to go shopping while Strictly was on, a good move, shop was empty and we got a very good deal on pink Champagne. It was a good price anyway but they had a 25% discount if you bought 6.
Thinking of the gillybobs and hoping progress is being made.

You are such a caring friend Ginny and I’m sure you only hesitate because you don’t want to sound as though you’re blowing your own bugle.

Well I think it needs blowing! You are so kind.
? ?

It’s good that you’re finding time amongst your good deeds to relax and do something nice for YOU.

Happy Sunday Morning from a Sunny/cloudy/windy/rainy!! West Yorkshire. Going in our local park to walk our son's dog. The dog is going back home today as our son is back from holiday. Then some Christmas card writing and clean the house after our four legged visitor. Love her but it is hard keeping the house clean. At least we have not had rain this week. Enjoy your day everyone!

I have been enjoying your video mybirthedragon it's beautiful.

Ginny42 Sun 08-Dec-19 09:08:04

Good morning Mick and everyone. Today is bright and sunny in Cheshire and the trees are not stirring atm.

I was hesitating writing about my day as I seem to be spending a lot of time with friends who are struggling at the moment. I'm glad I'm well enough to be able to do these things however. I bought a radio for the friend who was admitted to a care home on Friday as she was in a totally empty room and looked so pathetic sitting there. I'm going to call at her house and get a small TV and some books.

This afternoon I'm spending time with another friend whose husband has been admitted into care as his dementia has worsened dramatically.

I will immerse myself in some nice music and start my new novel when I get home. Then finish writing the Christmas cards and tomorrow I'm getting the tree down from the loft.
I must have the house looking festive when my DGS arrives for Christmas.

I know Gilly and dragonfly have worse worries than mine, so sending warm wishes to them and to all who are worried or unwell. Otherwise, have a good day.

Thanks for drawing my attention to Mythbirtthedragon’s video NannyJ. It’s lovely *Mythbirt and so nice to see some boys in a choir.

Morning everyone from a dry, grey and very windy north Wales where I’m enjoying the chamberpot of tea in bed!

You’re all having some delicious meals - roast beef, pork curry, lamb tagine......yum! It’s roast chicken for us later which I only do half a dozen times a year, so bit of a treat really and I’m making mince pies (once I shift myself) so will rustle up an apple pie for pud!

Hope good news is coming for those with worries x

NfkDumpling Sun 08-Dec-19 08:51:46

Morning All

Grey and breezy here in Norfolk too. But there are fleeting glimpses of sky.

We need to take the cover off our little boat today to check she’s not full of water. (Sounds silly when she’s up on the bank, but the rainwater fills her up surprisingly quickly if the boatyard didn’t get the cover on soon enough). Hopefully the cover won’t take off while DH is under it!

May today be the day that Mr G snaps out of his nightmare and comes back.

Good Morning from a bright Black Country, although it lokks a little windy.

My partner is off on a bike ride shortly with the club he recently joined. It is a Christmas ride, so he has fairy lights on the bike and a Christmas hat over his bike hat! They are stopping off at a local pub for a buffet lunch. I will walk over and join him there.

My DD's school has started a crowd funding page to raise money to rebuild their forest school. Which was burnt down by vandals. Within 24 hours it had raised just over £1000! As DD says, there are more good than bad people in the world.

Roast Beef with Yorkshire Pud for us tonight.

Your video worked Mythbirththedragon lovely!

Hoping all is continuing to progress well with your dear DH gilly Thinking too of EV and anyone else with worries and health problems.

Lins1066 Sun 08-Dec-19 08:44:46

Good morning Mick and all.
It is very windy, but dry here in South Wales. We have a yellow warning for wind from 3 pm and most of the Christmas Fayres and markets have been cancelled, such a shame.
Hope everyone will have a good Sunday.

GrannyGravy13 Sun 08-Dec-19 08:34:31

Good morning Mick and all x

Grey and breezy here in S E Essex.

I intend to have a lazy day, Mr Gravy and I are going out for a late breakfast then I shall read by the fire until I have to cook dinner (roast pork with all the trimmings)

Keep safe and have a good Sunday

gillybobs I hope you have been able to get some rest and that your dear man is calmer

Good morning all from a wet and wild Glasgow.

A very restless night, still suffering from the change in time zone. I feel as if I'm living in another dimension. ??
So I got up, made a batch of scones and a sultana cake and will take some to church for some elderly (not me) parishoners, as a wee treat.
I haven't been well enough to go for weeks, so it will be good to catch up with everyone.

Despite not wanting to go to my course yesterday, I had a great time, I met two school friends from fifty years ago. One, I just didn't recognise, but she recognised me right away by my loud, bossy voice. grin.

Love to Gilly and hope things are improving for EV. ?

Morning all windy but dry here.
Taking youngest DGS to see the reindeers at our local garden centre, they have them every year and the children get to feed them.
Cooking calfs liver with bacon and onion for dinner.
Hope you all have a pleasant Sunday.

Curlywhirly Sun 08-Dec-19 08:28:10

Good Morning from a dull, dry Cheshire. Promised to have our 1 year old DGS overnight, to give his Mum and Dad a rest. When he was being dropped off, our 5 year old DGD came too (to look at our Christmas Tree!) and asked if she could sleep as well. So we ended up with both of them. Had a disturbed night as GS lost his dummy a couple of times. Then at 5.00am the dog started crying to go outside! So then had to put baby in bed with me and managed to get him to sleep in until 7.00am. His sister then woke up. So we are all on sofa watching children's tv. Himself, is oblivious, still fast asleep, it's no wonder he keeps offering to have the children stay, as he seems to sleep through all the disturbances!

Good morning everyone from a damp and windy Leamington Spa. DD1 and I took the DGD's to a Cristingle service at a local church yesterday afternoon, eldest granddaughter was singing in the choir. It was packed and a lovely service for all the children, they all enjoyed making their candles.
This morning some of us are off to a Victorian Market in Stratford and this afternoon it will be tree decorating. Tomorrow I go home.
Have a lovely Sunday everyone.

Alygran Sun 08-Dec-19 08:13:20

Good morning everyone from North Yorkshire. Dry and bright so far but very windy.
Church this morning then a quick dash to M and S for a parcel and a bit of food shopping. Then home to finish the cards. Steak and salad for dinner tonight.
Wishing you all a good day especially those with struggles.

Nannytopsy Sun 08-Dec-19 08:13:19

Good morning Mick and all! Windy but bright in our part of Suffolk but there are lots of heavy clouds racing by. A successful shopping day yesterday and DGS’s lovely carol service.
Church then time to get busy - Christmas puddings, cards, presents, ironing and still have lots of boxes to unpack.
Hope everyone has a good day

Urmstongran Sun 08-Dec-19 08:08:59

Good morning everyone from Malaga where the sun’s up!

Yes Man. Utd for my husband too mancgirl! I’m not bothered about football but he was delighted with the result said they deserved an even higher score.

He is off to watch the Celtic -v- Rangers final at 4pm (here) with his Glaswegian friends so I’ve arranged to meet up with the two lovely ladies on our balcony. We will go for a G&T then over the road to a Chinese restaurant we all like.

Hope Sunday is kind to us all whether we have plans or none. x

Special good wishes as always to the gillybobs and dragonfly. Plus EV who has a lot to contend with right now.

Mythbirtthedragon Sun 08-Dec-19 08:08:23

Good morning from east London, it has been wet and windy like elsewhere but weather is having a time out at the moment. Choir concert went very well last night and had a lovely meal with DD and DP after.(this is a link to 8 mins of concert highlights but not sure if it will work vimeo.com/378040931 ).
Back to cleaning and sorting today, then off to the panto with DG and DD. Hope you have the best day you can.

Grey and drizzly in leafy Surrey. We have tickets to take gd on a steam train to see Santa, along with dd and sil but the poor little thing has been so unwell all week and just won’t be up to an outing. Such a shame, and she won’t be going to school tomorrow either so I will have her here tucked up on the sofa as her mummy and daddy have work to go to.
