Two little penguins

Just that really...?made a cuppa and felt peckish so picked up a penguin, and then another!
It’s this time of night, and they’re very more-ish ( felt justified in having two as they are much smaller than they used to be)
I, on the other hand, am much larger than I used to be.

I've not had a Penguin for years

I must buy some tomorrow

GrannyGravy13 Wed 11-Dec-19 21:45:41

Always have penguins in the fridge, but I am not a big chocolate fan......might have to do some “quality control”tchgrintr

Callistemon Wed 11-Dec-19 22:09:26

No, but I had two mince pies this evening after a carol service.
I did miss dinner, my excuse.

I have been told three times this evening that it takes 20 minutes of walking to get rid of the calories in a mince pie.

That upset me so I came home and had a glass of wine

Haven't had a Penguin in years. Might pick up a packet on way back from the voting.

Funny, I have never liked Penguins. Nor, for that matter, any chocolate covered biscuits.

Although I like chocolate and I like biscuits. Just not together grin

lemongrove grin

Not too keen on chocolate things but Belgian buns now that’s another story every now and the. I buy those packs of two to have a few days apart, unfortunately they never like being parted

Marydoll Wed 11-Dec-19 22:59:51

I thought this thread was about the item in the news today about prostitute penguins!
I kid you not! ?

Chewbacca Wed 11-Dec-19 23:15:58

Penguins were never my favourite; too much biscuit to chocolate ratio. I always preferred orange or mint Club biscuits. But now the chocolate around them is so measly that I don't like them much any more either. Viscount mint biscuits, in the green metallic wrappers are much better.
wanders off, kitchen bound.

Callistemon Wed 11-Dec-19 23:28:55

I do fancy a Twix

But I have eaten a lot of junk type carbs today.

Callistemon Wed 11-Dec-19 23:29:23

Club biscuits are half the size they used to be.

Chewbacca Wed 11-Dec-19 23:41:36

They are half the size Callistemon! And I'm twice the size, so where's the justice in that?

Callistemon Wed 11-Dec-19 23:48:18

It's just Not Fair!!

Gonegirl Thu 12-Dec-19 14:08:37

shock Sod! I forgot to buy some.

lemongrove Thu 12-Dec-19 15:18:03

Then get your coat on again Gonegirl....you can’t let another evening go by without eating one or two surely??

Am partial to a Twix Callistemon when needing a sugar fix,
And in the absence of Penguins, it does the job.

It goes without saying that these lovely traditional treats, for example, penguins, just aren’t as generous as they used to be which just makes us end up eating more than one, which is not a good thing. As my husband says - you no longer have to ‘grin to get a waggon wheel in!’ (Anyone remember the advert for Waggon Wheels!). I would rather pay a bit more and buy just one glorious treat like they used to be.

Jane10 Thu 12-Dec-19 16:55:57

Tunnocks caramel wafers for me or, drool, chunky Kitcats straight from the fridge. Twix are pretty good too now you mention it though...

TrendyNannie6 Thu 12-Dec-19 16:58:21

Plain chocolate Hobnobs for me, but can't get them here. I have to settle for a pain au chocolat, life's a bitch
