Anyone else concerned with light pollution

This is following on from my post in the flushing toilets thread
Is it just me or are others angered by the dreadful waste of offices and huge government and public buildings swathed in lights all night long
I m sure the reason given will be safety but couldn’t there be a facility that automatically switch them on if anyone was where they shouldn’t be, like house outdoor lights can
I know nothing about electronics but surely there must be a better way

Your not alone. I've been banging on about it for years ?
Experts in the environmental field still don't know how much damage this is doing.

I agree BlueBelle. Plus, it's not just the number of lights that I worry about, it's the fact that they are on 'full beam' as it were. Surely, if companies want lights on for security reasons, they could at least turn down the volume a bit or have fewer lights on per room.
