Good morning all, as no-one has opened up, I'm going to take the plunge!

Beechnut Tue 24-Dec-19 07:07:09

Good Morning Marydoll and all who follow.

A damp start to Christmas Eve on Severnside.

A few jobs to do this morning and then to do whatever comes along.

Wishing you all a very Merry Christmas from the Beechnut house ?

Buongiorno every one from a sunny but frosty Italy. It is good to see some sun at last after all the rain we've had. The poor hens were developing webbed feet. Nothing much to do today as we are out tonight and tomorrow ! I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas and that those who are poorly or are caring for poorly relatives manage at least a peaceful time and the new year brings better times.

Pantglas2 Tue 24-Dec-19 07:09:47

Morning Marydoll from a very wet north Wales! That must be your shortest post ever! I look forward to a proper effort from you later on!

Busy morning and trotting to see GC later then a relaxing evening before an early night to see what Santa brings! Have a lovely Christmas everyone x

Grammaretto Tue 24-Dec-19 07:10:32

At least it's not snowing.
Have a good day everyone.

Good morning Marydoll and all who follow new to this I wish you all a Merry Christmas and a healthy New Year enjoy reading everyone's daily exploits .

Urmstongran Tue 24-Dec-19 07:12:42

I was waiting and kept checking! Thanks Marydoll and good morning to you and all who follow from a damp, dark South Manchester. The commuter train that has just pulled up at the station platform is lit up and as it’s dark I can easily see inside it - not many people today headed out towards Liverpool.

I’m off to mind the granddaughter in a couple of hours whilst the grandson gets taken to the cinema by mummy and daddy. Units of time today!

Then home and make some posh butties and put together a very mini buffet before going to pick up my second dad - he likes a pint in the bar below us then up here to eat, just the 3 of us. I don’t want him to be on his own.

Hope Christmas Eve is kind to us all, especially those with health worries. x

Urmstongran Tue 24-Dec-19 07:14:15

Seems we were all under starter’s orders .... !

Good morning Christmas Eve too, Marydoll, and all to follow. Must admit I have been waiting as well and wondered whether to do the same!

Just had my tea and biscuit, and have been joined by a cat. Northampton is still dark and looking damp.

A quiet morning ahead, and then I am off to the cinema to see 'Last Christmas'. Hoping they are still offering hot mulled cider at the cinema! Then home when DS will pick me up to enjoy a Swedish Christmas Eve smorgasbord at their house.

Hope everyone has a lovely Christmas Eve, and thinking of those feeling poorly or who have worries. Also those on their own.

Morning all from a dampish North Leicestershire.

Slightly worryingly I appear to be ahead of my self! tchconfused with just a chocolate sponge to make and the gammon to cook! I've also almost set the table.

DS2 and co are not going to be with us tomorrow so some of them will be calling in this afternoon.

Hoping to hear from gilly today.

Marydoll Tue 24-Dec-19 07:17:27

Happy Christmas Eve! ?✨?? one and all, especially our absent Mick.
I hope I haven't offended anyone by taking the initiative to post, but Mick usually posts just after 6am, I couldn't find the Good Morning thread and I have no idea who his deputy is.

I’m just waiting for DS1 to come and pick me up to go and collect the turkey etc, as it's too heavy for me to carry.
I'm carrying on my mother's tradition of going to the same butchers, it must be over sixty years now!
However, I don't need to go at 6.30am, which was when my mother insisted on me driving her there! grin
I have been agonising whether to cook it today or early tomorrow morning, as I have a full house from about 10am tomorrow!!

I have a lot to think about after my heart appointment yesterday, the appointment took up the whole morning, leaving me very drained today. My medication needs tweaked, but of course it’s Christmas (in case you didn’t know), so nothing going to happen anytime soon. sad

A lot to cram in today, before I go and open up the church for the children’s carol service at 5.30pm. I will need to be there for 3.45pm at the very latest, as the church is always full, with people coming really early to find a seat.
I’m so looking forward to hearing all the carol and listening to the choir.

Worrying very much about Gilly, but hoping that no contact means she has been out of touch, because she is receiving treatment for her mouth. ?

I'm off to have my breakfast of newly baked fruit bread, (I hoipe you are reading this NanKate) before DS1 snaffles it for DGD, who would eat the whole loaf.

Have as a peaceful and restful day, as you can. For those travelling to visit family, keep safe and (((Hugs))) for all who need them today.?

Marydoll Tue 24-Dec-19 07:19:23

Ooooooooooooooooh, Pantglas, you are cheeky, but I like you!! grin

Alygran Tue 24-Dec-19 07:20:49

Good morning from North Yorkshire. The curtains are still closed so I have no idea of the weather.
Been awake since 4.30 so finished my book and came down for a cup of tea.
Packing this morning then driving down to Derbyshire to spend Christmas with the DDs.
Merry Christmas everyone.

Brunette10 Tue 24-Dec-19 07:23:14

Happy Christmas Eve to all, I hope everyone has a great time over the festive period. Dark and damp here in Fife and only ones up so far in the street. Have a lot to do today but I know I'm not alone, busy, busy, busy. Not long now to go. Can't wait to see DGS's faces tomorrow after Santa has been. I hope everyone has a good day albeit a busy one no doubt and there are no hiccups along the way. Jingle bells to everyone. tchsmile

Resurgam123 Tue 24-Dec-19 07:26:33

Good Morning All. Its dark outside. I have been waiting for a hint of morning.
I really don't like the gloom.
I really find Christmas hard work.
Which is largely down to Mr Resurgams lack of any jolity or sense of humour.
Sorry but I will be glad when this is over.

Sar53 Tue 24-Dec-19 07:29:18

Good morning everyone from a still dark Essex by the sea. Two cooked gammons to be delivered to two daughters this morning. DH has cooked four and very nice they are too.
I have some ironing to do when we return then I must get everything ready to take to my eldest daughter's tomorrow. We are spending Christmas day in Leamington, the first time for about six years and I am very excited to be seeing three of my granddaughters on Christmas day. We have so much to take with us so I need to prepare today as we will be leaving around 8.30 in the morning. I am keeping my fingers crossed that the traffic is kind to us.
I wish you all a very Happy Christmas and a peaceful New Year xx

mancgirl Tue 24-Dec-19 07:39:23

Good morning ???. Still very dark but at least I think it's dry. Doesn't always rain in Manchestersmile. One unexpected errand to do this morning, I will be there for opening time. Lunch with some of the family before our lovely Christmas sing a long with the rest of family this afternoon. Is it too soon to prep veg this morning for tomorrow? I won't be home until tomorrow morning. Happy Christmas to all, hugs to those who are facing difficult times.

GrannyGravy13 Tue 24-Dec-19 07:40:39

Good morning from Shropshire.Heavy rain this morning.
DH not too well at the moment so a quiet morning then meeting my mum for lunch at the local hotel she stays in whenever she visits.Hoping DH will feel up to joining us??
My mum always stays in a hotel when she visits anybody, she doesn’t go on holiday anymore but loves the hotel life. The receptionist phoned her yesterday to check what time she will be arriving to ensure her room will be ready for her!
Church at 4.30 then home to prepare our contributions to the Christmas meal at DD’s tomorrow.
Hoping we hear from gilly, she is never far from my thoughts.
Sending good wishes to everyone with worries?

cornergran Tue 24-Dec-19 07:46:50

Morning All. tchsmile. Thanks for opening up marydoll, look after yourself as well as your family. It’s dark and looks damp in our corner Somerset. Nothing stressful here today, neighbours dropping in, a bit of food to organise, carols at the local Church. Three of us tomorrow, we’re out for lunch then five on Boxing Day, so no mass catering. Special thoughts to those struggling with Christmas. Wishing you all safe travels, a successful Christmas lunch and the best Christmas possible.

NanKate Tue 24-Dec-19 07:49:56

Morning Mary and All you Christmas folks to follow.

Yes Mary I am imagining eating a delicious slice of your fruit bread with some delicious butter trickling down my chin - scrumptious.

Safely in Soggy Sussex. So good to see my DS smiling so very different from the unhappy soul he was last year. Can’t wait for our 2 DGSs to arrive on Boxing Day, chaos will then ensue. ?

Extra prayers and healing thoughts to our Gillybob ?

As you are so far ahead Kitty do you have time for a sherry and a mince pie ?

Safe journeys to those on the road today.

Christmas crackers to you All ????

Lins1066 Tue 24-Dec-19 07:55:16

Good Morning from a wild S Welsh coast, we currently have thunder and lightening. Fortunately we collected our turkey crown etc yesterday afternoon.
I will cook a fillet of pork later, we always have pork and stuffing sandwiches with apple sauce and pickles - Christmas Eve tradition in our house.
Hope everyone will have a good Christmas Eve, take care those travelling for whatever reason.
Gentle hugs for those in pain or suffering for whatever reason.

Good morning to everyone on site.
Christmas Eve, where did the year go, we're back here again preparing for family visits and the big day tomorrow.

I'm sat in bed drinking my morning cup of tea before heading off for a day at Sundown with my children and grandchildren in Retford.

Best Wishes to everyone for a lovely Christmas doing all the things that make you happy.

NannyJan53 Tue 24-Dec-19 07:58:58
