Good Morning Everyone,
Its dark but dry here in Brackley this morning, usually we get early morning mist.
Anyway, house work beckons this morning, before I go off to Bicester and Buckingham for usual coffee stops and shops.

Good morning all! Off cycling with U3A group this morning. Sadly nothing much planned for NY. Quietly at home with DH. Have a happy day everyone ,if you can.

Good morning from sunny ☀️ Tenerife. Happy New Year Michael and everyone .

Morning Mick, morning All. It’s dark in our corner of Somerset, very misty overnight but doesn’t seem to be raining. Still very germy here, little sleep again. Worse things happen though. Nothing at all planned for today. . Wishing you all a contented New Year to come and a hope that today is kind to everyone.

Good morning all from N Bucks. Too dark to tell what the weather is like but the patio was dry when I let Hattie out.
Cleaner this morning then meeting up with a friends whose husband has Alzheimer’s and is going into two weeks’ residential care to give her a break. She is feeling guilty but at the end of her tether - no easy solutions are there.
Wishing you all a pleasant last day of 2019 - has it been kind or best put behind you?

Good morning Mick and all. Yesterday was glorious sunshine and blue skies in Cheshire and I'm hoping for more of the same today. There was frost on the roofs at first light, but warmth in the sun later. Today I will walk in the woods when it comes light and then visit a friend in respite care.

We plan a trip to the cinema later to see the film 'Playing with Fire' then home for the evening with a nice meal and probably playing games and GS being allowed to stay up till midnight for the first time. There will be the Spanish custom of eating 12 grapes in the minute before midnight strikes, which I never manage to do without looking like a choking hamster.

I hope anyone feeling unwell or recovering from treatments will have a better day. Special thoughts to the gillybobs dragonfly and all who have had a particularly challenging year in 2019.

Take care everyone.

Morning Mick and All.

It will be cold with dark cloud today in South Bucks.

Still coughing but on the mend I think.

DH and I will have a nice meal in front of the fire tonight plus the scary film some of you recommended over Christmas featuring Doug Henshaw.

Have a good evening folks whatever you are doing.

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. Night and day seem to merge. Roll on Spring!
2019 began well but is ending with unresolved worries.
No big gathering tonight. Maybe a toast with a neighbour. Cheers one and all when it comes.wine

Good Morning all from a dark and mild Staffordshire.
This morning I am fetching my DGS to spend some quality Nanna time with him as my DH is off out on his motorcycle for the day. We will most definitely make it into town for a nice lunch and then maybe a trip around TK Max!
This evening I will need to wiz round with a hoover and duster as we have guests staying overnight.
I will offer to drive this evening so I don’t waste my last day off work tomorrow recovering from a NYE hangover.

I do hope everyone has a wonderful New Year’s Eve and 2020 will bring us all some good times.❤️❤️

Morning Mick, morning all from a dark but dry North Leicestershire.

A lazy start today then lunch at an Italian restaurant and then on to watch West Side Story at our local theatre.

A nice meal and champagne at home this evening and probably early to bed.

Wishing everyone who contributes to this lovely thread A Very Happy New Year especially those facing challenges.

BlueSapphire Tue 31-Dec-19 07:25:22

Good morning everyone from a still dark but dry Northampton. It was lovely to see the sunshine yesterday.
Think I am the first up in our close again, as no other lights are on.
DGDs here again for the day. We shall have a bus trip to Sainsbury's this morning, where they will have their favourite chocolate gateau in the cafe, followed by a bit of shopping for me. Then probably watch another film this afternoon.
I have just started preparing a Bolognese for lunch to go in the slow cooker, one of their favourite meals. Can smell the onions and carrots frying as I write.
Will probably see the New Year in tonight with a little glass of something!
Hope all have a good day.

Good morning, Michael and all GNs. Still dark in South Yorkshire, and cold, but a dry day in prospect to see out the old year. Nothing planned for us this evening except a good curry for dinner and a few drinks. I have a hospital appointment this morning though. May I wish all GNs a pleasant evening and a very Happy New Year.

Good morning from Leicestershire.

A few bits and bobs from the shops then a restful day and early to bed as the family are arriving tomorrow, a day earlier than planned.

I wish you all a Healthy and Happy New Year.

Good morning all from a very frosty Glasgow. it's -3C. Brrrrrrr! ⛸❄

For the first time in 26 years, we will not be having our annual New Year's party. Instead, we will have drinks with our friends and neighbours this afternoon, as a few of us have had a bad year healthwise and just don't have the stamina for it.
We have many happy memories of previous, as we were all friends before we even moved here. I'm laughing to myself, when I remember some of our antics.

Before that, I will be off to out for some provisions, with DH as my trusty mule and I expect DS1 to pop in with DGD, as he is on childminding duties and I need a DGD fix.

Wishing everyone as happy a New Year and I for one am looking forward to an improvement on the last one. Not exactly the best I've had!!!

Morning all dark and dry here in Surrey.
The lurgy still lurks but hope to go out later for an early dinner then home with feet up and a hot toddy.
Thinking of all who had appointments yesterday and that they had good results and healing thoughts to the Gillybobs
Hope you all have a nice day and evening.

Good morning all from a dry and dark north Wales and I hope it stays that way as I’m meeting a friend for lunch in Conwy and a couple of drinks- that’s our New Years Eve celebrations now that we’re older! As she pointed out, 45 years ago we were planning an all nighter!

I do hope everyone unhappy or unwell feels better and those of us who’ve escaped the various lurgies continue to do so!

Resurgam123 Tue 31-Dec-19 07:41:01

Good Morning All. It is dark and cold here in Cheshire.
I really don't like new year.
But have a good one if you can.

Sar53 Tue 31-Dec-19 07:41:42

Good morning everyone from a still dark Essex by the sea. DH has a very painful foot again and is going to try and get a doctor's appointment this morning. Nothing planned for today but may go out for a drink early this evening.
I'd like to wish you all a very Happy New Year and I hope that all those with illness or sadness have a better 2020.

Mommawolf Tue 31-Dec-19 07:43:17

Good morning all its dark and very misty in the wilds of norfolk. Have come back to bed with a cuppa as DH has only just got in from early hours call out to sick dog and is fast asleep, don't want to disturb him. A day of food shopping ahead then a quiet evening. Wishing you all a very happy new year with lots of improvements for those who are unwell.

Nannytopsy Tue 31-Dec-19 08:00:55

Good morning Mick and his followers. Just woken to a clear sky and a gentle sunrise in Suffolk. We are going to take ourselves to the coast ( perhaps Snape?) today then come home to a nice meal, a good bottle of wine and Jools Holland.
A very happy and healthy New Year to you all!

TheReadingRoom Tue 31-Dec-19 08:00:55

Good morning one and all from a very dark Mid Wales.
Nothing planned for today apart from a short walk/exercise for my new hip followed by a quiet evening at home. Just hope neighbours don't go mad with the fireworks at midnight but I'll probably be asleep by then!

Beechnut Tue 31-Dec-19 08:01:02

Good Morning everyone from a dry Severnside.

A day of pottering for me and no plans to do anything for tonight.

Who knows when we start a new year what will be in store for us. While my past year has been an emotional one, that is nothing to the things some of you have endured. So as we leave this day and year and go on to the next I’d like to wish you all a Happy New Year ???

GrannyGravy13 Tue 31-Dec-19 08:04:11

Good New Years Eve morning Mick and all ?

It’s still dark in SE Essex, no idea what the weather is doing??

I shall be busy doing nothing today, we are not going out this evening and at the moment we are GC free, but that could change.

I wish you a happy and healthy 2020, don’t forget to wish as sometimes wishes come true ???

NannyJan53 Tue 31-Dec-19 08:09:21

Good Morning from a dry but still dark Black Country.

Had a lovely long walk with the Walking for Health group yesterday. It was a cloudless, sunny day.

Will probably go on a walk on the Clent Hills today if the weather is the same.

Tonight we are off to a local pub to see in the new year. There is live music and curry! Hopefully it will be good. It is only a 10 minute walk from us.

Wishing everyone a Happy and healthy New Year. Special thoughts to gilly dragonfly Marydoll* and lins (Hope I haven't missed anyone out)

Mythbirtthedragon Tue 31-Dec-19 08:15:25

Good morning from east London, lightening up outside but I think the blue skies have gone. We played tennis outside yesterday to take advantage of the sun, give the old vit. D a boost. Tonight, for the first time in many years, we are going out to an event with lots of loud music and dancing; I think it’s a reaction to the disruption of the last few months. Also, it’s DD’s due date and while we all know babies don’t come time (!), I think a bit of tempting fate is in order. Perhaps there’s a thread thought in ‘what did you used to do to see the New Year in’. (Hang around Morpeth clock tower then think about the 4 mile walk). I hope the new year brings you all wish for.
