Good morning Mick and those to follow - we seem to be the only ones awake!

I bought a very large vase before Christmas and it is much larger than I expected so a trip to the garden centre today is in order today to see if I can find something to go in it.

Then a visit to see our contribution to the NWR Centenary scrapbook before we hand it over to the next village tomorrow.

Hope you are feeling better Marydoll and Gilly gets that wretched tooth sorted out today.

Scentia Mon 06-Jan-20 06:32:36

Good Morning all.

Looks nice and dry here in East Staffordshire.

Normal work day for me today, I will walk the short route today as my heel is hurting after a particularly long walk with my GS yesterday morning. Weather was so good and he was so happy in his new jogging pushchair his mummy got on Friday that I just couldn’t stop walking. We stopped at the cafe for some breakfast and carried on!!!
Hope everyone to come has the best day they can, given their individual circumstances.x

Good morning to the early birds and all to come. Looks dry in Northampton at the moment, but still very dark. Been up since about 5am with two cats deciding it was a good time to play, and couldn't get back to sleep.
Yoga this morning and then a coffee afterwards, and home to finish taking down the decorations.
Went to see 'Little Women' yesterday and thoroughly enjoyed it. Spent two hours reliving the book, and in some places there was not a dry eye in the house.
Hope today is good for all.

Good Morning everyone from a dry Severnside.

Off to get my eyes tested, post a parcel and put some fuel in the car this morning.

I hope you have better luck at the dentist today gilly and hope everyone else feels better if you are poorly ?

NanKate Mon 06-Jan-20 07:02:23

Morning Mick and All

Dry and warmer in South Bucks.

Still coughing but making some progress at the rate of a tortoise. I don’t do ill health. It makes me realise how wonderful our Gransnetters are with long term illnesses who really have something to moan about. I need a kick up the proverbial.

Mommawolf Mon 06-Jan-20 07:11:54

Goodmorning all, cold and dry here in Norfolk, a lovely dog walk this morning. Zebedee our baby alpaca is in need of a bath, my daughter has just arrived with a bucket of carrots and white waterproof overalls that make us look like escapees from a police forensic team. The barn is primed and ready with towels and hair dryer, just have to persuade him that carrots are more fun than bouncing up and down when the hose hits him. Hope the dentist goes well GILLYBOB will be thinking of you

Grammaretto Mon 06-Jan-20 07:15:57

Good morning Mick and all, from the Scottish Borders. Very windy here today. I have the dentist first thing as I lost a filling when I bit into black bun on NYD.
I'll be thinking of Gilly! and my friend who's staying has a swollen face with an abscess but she is already on antiBs so I think will return home to her own dentist soon.

The usual Monday things starting with putting the buckets out.
Thanks for the Little Women recommendation BlueSapphire

Scentia, that sounds like a good way to exercise!
Poor NanKate sometimes I think we get into a habit of coughing and cannot stop even when we should be better. DH has a shocker.

Dragonfly quite a nice excuse to go to the garden centre.
I heard on GQT that we can begin planting seeds now. Really?
Whatever you are up to, take care.

NannyJan53 Mon 06-Jan-20 07:24:28

Good Morning from a dark and chilly Black Country.

Didn't do a lot yesterday as still have this cold and cough. Will be the same today, plan to keep in the warm, so will miss my Walking for Health walk this morning. As Nankate says this is nothing compared to what some GN's are going through.

I hope gilly will get this tooth sorted today!

Best wishes to all

Marydoll Mon 06-Jan-20 07:26:59

Good morning all from a wet and wild Glasgow.
The bins have been blown over onto the road and there is debris everywhere, it's blowing a hooley out outside. ??

Hospital appointment first thing with rheumatology physio to try and get some movement into my hip, trying to delay my referral for a hip replacement ( I need to get my heart problems sorted first) and appease the cradiac physio into the bargain!
My RA consultant thinks the cardiac physio is not really suitable for me and the cardiac physio disagrees!!!!
I have tested my diplomatic skills to the limit, trying to keep everyone happy! grin

Glad to hear you are on the mend Kate and here's hoping, Gilly gets on well at the dentist today. ?
Urmonstongran, I hope you are feeling a bit better today, if not, get to your GP! It must be so debilitating for you. ?

The schools are back today, so I must get a move on, the roads will be busy. I'm so glad I'm retired, no school fro me!!! smile

Urmstongran Mon 06-Jan-20 07:32:31

Good morning everyone from South Manchester where it’s dry and dark. Having a morning cuppa in bed, waiting for 8am when I can ring the doctor’s for a ‘today’ appointment.

Thinking of you gillybob hope you get that tooth sorted and that your husband had a better night. Hope his temperature settled - if not I’m sure you’ll be on to the doctor for him.

I love thinking of you washing Zebedee the alpaca today Mommawolf!

Hope Monday is kind to us all whether we have plans or none. x

Sark Mon 06-Jan-20 07:35:11

Good morning all
Still dark but dry in Oxfordshire.
Bit of a sore throat and first day back to work so have slight Monday morning blues but NanKate you are so right and I need that kick too!
Toothache is horrible so hope all you poor sufferers are better soon.
Mommawolf...hope the bath goes well..really made me smile.
Have as good a Monday as possible every one

Urmstongran Mon 06-Jan-20 07:35:28

X posts Marydoll - thank you and I do hope your hospital appointment goes well for you this morning. You are having a tough time. x

Evening All; Relatively good news in that we've had 2 wet days in a row, but only 20mm all up depending where you live. N.E.Victoria is still burning with more very hot weather forecast this week. Here in Melb. we've had no fires, but whiffs of smoke now and then; bad news for asthmatics, of course
My friendly maggies are looking very bedraggled, but I imagine they'd much prefer wet feathers to singed.!
To think it was 42C last Monday! today, barely 20C
Have a nice day!

vena11 Mon 06-Jan-20 07:41:27

Good morning from a dry dark Bristol. Two hungry DGC to feed this morning and look after all day. I hope you manage to get to see your doctor today Urmston and everyone else with ills feel a bit better.

Nannytopsy Mon 06-Jan-20 07:43:39

Good morning Mick and all his followers. Marydoll isn’t it great not to be going back? None of those panic moments of ‘I haven’t prepared for that lesson!’
Grey but dry and just getting light in Suffolk. Up early for the builders. Right, a quick shower first!
Hope all the coughs, colds and teeth improve.

kittylester Mon 06-Jan-20 07:45:16

Morning all from my bit of North Leicestershire where there is rain in the forecast.

Thank you all for my birthday wishes yesterday. I hope j52 had a good birthday too.

I had a mixed day. We went on another furniture hunt but then DS2 came round with a lovely book and we had a take away.

Out for lunch today with old friends.

It's nice to be back in a routine of sorts.

Yiayia4 Mon 06-Jan-20 07:49:22

Morning all dry and mild in Surrey
Will not mention the lurgy this morning getting boring!
Back to normal today taking DiL to work later.
We are having a short trip to Scotland on Thursday so must plan what to take.I have been to many placese in the world but never Scotland, looking forward to it, even the weather!

Have a good Monday everyone.

Annapops Mon 06-Jan-20 07:54:10

Good morning all from a very dark County Durham.

An early start today as we have 3 GC arriving to spend the day here ( no school until tomorrow) , so it will be a busy time ahead.

I wonder how many steps I'll record on my fitbit today?

Have a wonderful day everyone. X

Mythbirtthedragon Mon 06-Jan-20 07:56:17

Good morning from east London, still quite dark here, cloudy and dry. Pleased this post is livelier than yesterday morning; got quite a shock when I wandered in and only Mick had posted, nice tho it is to see his words. Good trip to Chichester and back yesterday, except the drizzle started about 3 miles before we got there. Had to start clearing our bedroom when we got home as the carpet people are here this afternoon to fit the final carpet (yay!). Two hours of playing tennis at lunchtime which will prime me for relocating stuff back into the bedroom and putting away the (relatively few) Xmas decs we had out. (When SiL dropped in, she was very concerned at how few Xmas trees I’d put out; I have a selection of ornaments accumulated over the years. She seemed reassured that next Xmas, they will be back). Have the best day you can.

NfkDumpling Mon 06-Jan-20 08:00:39

Morning All

Dry, breezy and grey in my bit of Norfolk. Through the window the outside thermometer says its 6C and the wind vane says the wind is southerly. But I don’t believe either of them - it looks decidedly chilly.

DH hasn’t surfaced yet, so he doesn’t know of my plans to go to the cinema.

NfkDumpling Mon 06-Jan-20 08:01:07

And GOOD LUCK Gilly!

Newquay Mon 06-Jan-20 08:09:40

Still dark but looks dry here in Staffs. Back to keep fit/circuit class this morning then collecting DGD, 10, from home for the afty (Mum and Dad work from home). Might play Canasta with her. Then choir restarts tonight-Mozart’s Requiem. Put Christmas decs and lights away yesterday. Pleased to hear recommendation for Little Women

Lins1066 Mon 06-Jan-20 08:22:54

GoodMorning Mick and all from a cloudy S Wales.
Didn't sleep well and I am aching this morning.
' Little Women' is a lovely story and one of my favourite books as a child, I wanted to be Jo.

Hope all who are ill feel better soon, * Marydoll, Cornergran and Gilly* in particular.

DoraMarr Mon 06-Jan-20 08:24:21

Good morning everyone. It’s cloudy but still dry in Birmingham. I’ve overslept, which is annoying because I need to spruce up my apartment before our Italian lesson at 10. We’re learning vocabulary about the kitchen today and describing our favourite kitchen implement. I had such a busy weekend that the dog ate my homework wink.
Christmas decorations will come down later- before sunset. It’s always quite sad to see them go, isn’t it?
Marydoll, I’m happy to be retired too- I still have dreams where I am in a strange classroom with no lessons and no resources!
I hope everyone with health problems has a productive day, and for everyone, have the best day possible.
