Good Morning Everyone,
Its dark here in Brackley this morning, but looks dry outside .
A day out again today , I had intentions of buying anew printer an HP one, but on emailing the person who has fixed my computer in the past , he has advised me to get a Canon Pixma, which I have in store room in the flat.
Its supposed to be economical on ink etc but will try this weekend, it will save spending out on something else .
Mick

I would have guessed at it being around £200 so I wasn’t far out.

Worth every penny to be out of pain isn’t it?

Doodle Fri 10-Jan-20 19:01:36

gillybob I realise money may well be an issue at the moment but you are suffering so much. I agree with others, a private appointment is the best option.

Curlywhirly Fri 10-Jan-20 17:11:05

Gillybob, I agree with JenniferEccles, try and get a private appointment if you can; I have recently seen an Ear, Nose and Throat specialist (£180 initial consultation fee) and an Opthalmic Specialist (£160 initial consultation fee). You may only need the initial consultation; further ones are cheaper. Good luck.

JenniferEccles Fri 10-Jan-20 15:35:12

gillybob is there any way your father would help out with paying for you to see a Consultant privately?

No father would want to see his daughter in pain, and you do so much for him even with everything else going on in your life .

It might not be as expensive as you fear and you could well be seen within about a week.

Nannytopsy Fri 10-Jan-20 15:00:13

Gilly I might try A&E again. I went to Eye casualty 4 times before I got the right diagnosis last summer. Don’t let them fob you off, as they tried to times 2 and 3 for me.

Thought the wolf moon was this evening. Have I got that wrong, please?

Kalu Fri 10-Jan-20 12:03:53

Good morning from a chilly Glasgow Brr.

Still coughing but feel so much better. DH wasn’t looking good at all yesterday, I phoned the surgery and they gave us an appointment for later in the day. Result was, he now has bronchitis so on antibacs and change of another one of his meds. Onwards and upwards, here we go again??

Please send us some of your sunshine Urmstongran and Pantglas

Some good news to lift your spirits oldgaijin Well done that Mac. nurse. Enjoy your romp in the woods with the mutt.

Can’t believe you are still suffering tooth problems gilly plus you are still expected to take your father shopping! Please put yourself and your DH first. It’s surprising how others do manage when you say, no, I won’t be able to do that.

I did enjoy reading such a lovely story Mommawolf

Sending healing vibes to the sick list and those dealing with any illness.

Phloembundle Fri 10-Jan-20 12:01:25

Good morning everyone. Did anyone see the beautiful wolf moon. Apparently that is what the first full moon of the year is called.

EllanVannin Fri 10-Jan-20 11:57:16

Good Morning All x

Dull earlier on but has brightened up now so a chance to wash the nets. Already done the hoovering, have excelled so far after a choking fit first thing which aren't nice----infection is still hovering but if I have antibiotics they'll send my INR up and increase bleeding so you can't win. You either risk choking or bleeding to death hahahahaha.

I'll get this post finished yet ! Nipped out to get crumpets and cat food so that I wouldn't have to disturb myself later on and now don't need anything else for the rest of the day.

Enjoy your break Urmstongran after that apprehensive moment, stay safe. Gillybob, what can I say ? Except that I hope things can get cracking soon for both yourself and your DH. xx.
Susan56, glad you got home eventually and that your DH managed to have a decent night's sleep, hope all is well.x

All others who are battling on with all kinds of trials and tribulations I hope things improve. If you have the welcome drop of sunshine that we now have here on the NW coast it would give you a lift as well as a reminder that Spring isn't that far away.

A friend and a neighbour who just happen to live next door to each other have just received respectively a blue badge and AA, they are both very happy bunnies.
They both really deserve them.
I hope your application goes well oldgaijin

BladeAnnie Fri 10-Jan-20 11:45:13

Morning everyone - almost afternoon!! Hope you all have a pleasant day ?

Susan56 Fri 10-Jan-20 11:35:57

Glad things have been sorted oldgaijin.A weight off your mind.It definitely helps having somebody who knows the ropes filling in these forms. We had help from Age UK when filling in the same forms for my mum.
Enjoy your walk in the woods.

oldgaijin Fri 10-Jan-20 10:41:53

Good morning from a very frosty and bright Aberdeenshire.

Hurrah, hurrah, my blue badge is being reinstated and an application for Attendance Allowance application is in the post. Thank you lovely MacMillan nurse...it's amazing what can get done if you have someone with clout on your side.

The mutt and I are just off to the woods.

Have a good day.

Jaan12 Fri 10-Jan-20 10:33:05

The Sun has just appeared through the clouds and the forecast for today here in Fife seems to be reasonably ok, if weather forecasts can be relied upon. After a day at home yesterday I hope to get out today and do some walking as I have not done enough of that over the festive holiday time.

Mapleleaf Fri 10-Jan-20 10:22:42

Good morning,

It's a glorious but chilly morning here today, but oh, so much better than the dismal grey days we've had of late.
Like you, Auntieflo, I'm having a can't get going sort of morning, but must rouse myself and finish this tea!

I really enjoyed my first Pilates class yesterday. The hour whizzed by. I didnt find my old yoga mat but it didn't matter as the teacher provides all the equipment. I'm going to have another good look today, though, and if I don't find it, I'll get another one so that I can practise the exercises at home.

What good luck, Urmstongran for your DH to find such cheap tickets. ?Have a really lovely time.

York is a beautiful city, isn't it, Annapops? I'm glad you enjoyed it. We are fortunate to live not too far away and often take ourselves there for the day and occasionally for a weekend. There's so much to do. Perhaps next time, you might enjoy a river boat trip if you didn't fit one in this time. They are always very interesting and relaxing.

Well, I've finished my tea so I must stir myself now! Have a good day everyone.

LadyO Fri 10-Jan-20 10:08:47

GrannySomerset that’s what I was thinking but didn’t know whether to write it... Gilly you are one VERY strong woman...

GrannySomerset Fri 10-Jan-20 09:59:19

I wonder how Gilly’s father coped when she was spending her days at the bedside of her critically ill DH? Presumably he didn’t starve, and yet now it seems that everyone expects normal service to be resumed despite the fact that both Gilly and Mr Gilly are very far from well. Time to say you can’t do what you were doing, Gilly - your terrible tooth problems indicate that you are under immense pressure and shouldn’t be trying to look after anyone but your two selves.

Rant over, but sending loving support to all in need of it.

DoraMarr Fri 10-Jan-20 09:55:02

Gillybob, I really don’t know how you do it. If I had your problems I think I would be in bed with the duvet over my head, but you just keep on keeping on. I really hope there is a ray of sunshine for you soon.

Auntieflo Fri 10-Jan-20 09:54:08

Morning Michael, Annie and all.
I am having a 'can't get going morning'. Not that it's all that unusual, but just feeling weary. Need to have a strict talk to myself in a minute.
Nothing planned, just faffing about, starting and stopping sort of day.
Well, I have finished my, nearly cold cup of tea, so will go and shower and show my face to the world.
Gillybob, sorry to hear that your tooth is still playing up, and that you still have to take your dad shopping. Could your sister take a turn with that, you have so much on your plate?
To all those with health and other worries, hope today is better for you all.

moggie Fri 10-Jan-20 09:29:50

Good morning Mick & all from dry, sunny Nottingham.

Enjoy Spain Urmston & Pantglas
Thoughts with *Gillybob& DH*hope your DS is feeling better
Hope all not well or struggling have a better day.
Have a good day everyone.

Annapops Fri 10-Jan-20 09:22:00

Good morning from York. We'll be off home soon after two days exploring this city.
The Castle Museum yesterday was fabulous. We didn't even manage to get around all the exhibitions in the four hours spent there. Then we went onto The Chocolate Story which again gave us a fascinating insight into the history of cocoa and chocolate making in York.
There were so many other places we intended to see but after Cliffords Tower, The Shambles of course, and a walk along the city walls our time has run out. A reason to return again.
Have a good day everyone.

gillybob Fri 10-Jan-20 09:19:25

Good morning from the NE coast where we had a bright but cold start to Friday.

Feeling thoroughly fed up, tired and miserable and sick of boring everyone to tears with my pathetic woes.

Another very busy day ahead.

I have popped into to “this place” to collect a load of paper work to do at home over the next few day’s, then shooting back home to get DH up and sorted, then dashing my dad (dashing is probably the wrong word) to Asda for his shopping then hopefully back home to start on the accounts etc.

My tooth continues to give me hell and I am at my wits end not knowing what to do to bring this awful episode to an end. Have been warned I could wait ages to see the ENT person (GP suggested presenting myself to A&E but I have already done that once without success).

To others feeling sad or unwell I hope we all see some sunshine very soon.

To Urmstongran and those enjoying happy times, holidays and outings, long may they continue smile

Love to all,

Gillybob xx

Morning everyone
Bit of blue sky here in Oxfordshire which is nice.
Would rather see blue sky in Spain like some of you lucky travellers...have a lovely time!
Just getting over laryngitis and having lost my voice all week I am sure my old chap will be pleased it is back just as the weekend arrives so we can run through the list of jobs to do!!!
Looking forward to seeing our grandchildren tomorrow.
Hope all poorly ones are feeling a bit better.
Wishing everyone a good day

Alygran Fri 10-Jan-20 09:08:04

Good morning from North Yorkshire. It’s a beautiful sunny morning in contrast to yesterday’s wind and rain. I certainly picked the wrong day to visit Saltburn-by-the-Sea!
Off to a charity meeting then a wander into the arboretum. Jazz night tonight.
Sending good wishes to all on the sick list.
Hope today is kind to everyone.

Nannytopsy Fri 10-Jan-20 09:05:56

Urmstongran we are all so jealous! A sunny start here in Suffolk - a touch of gardening I think. There is a patch of brambles that I have my eye on ...
