Morning Mick, morning all.

It's good to be back in our own home in North Leicestershire where it is still dark, doesn't appear to be raining but is quite cold.

A pootling and faffing day for me today but not straying far from a loo as I appear to have been gluten ed!!

Hoping gilly has some relief for her tooth, that marydoll's dgd is recovered (our Bertie has been struggling a bit lately too), that dragonfly is all set for today and there are not too many side effects and that oldgaijin is feeling 'ok'.

Ginny42 Fri 17-Jan-20 06:45:03

Good morning Mick. Are you OK? Not unwell I hope. Sorry you're not well kittylester. Take it easy today.

It's dark but dry and cold in Cheshire, but it's going to brighten up over the weekend. Yeh! Colder though.

Shopping this morning for housebound friend. The care company would do it, but do of course charge, so I'll pop over with what she needs. She's paying a lot of money without extras.

A friend is coming for lunch so will prep that before I go shopping. We have a lot of catching up to do and hopefully fit in a walk in the woods weather permitting.

Sorry I missed your message yesterday oldgaijin. Thinking of you at this time. Hope things go well today dragonfly.
Hope the gillybobs have had a better night and are getting pain relief. Take care everyone.

Beechnut Fri 17-Jan-20 06:58:26

Good Morning everyone.
Once again it’s damp and of course still dark.

Along with my food shopping today I have some others things I want to buy so hopefully I’ll get that done as well.

Let’s hope you all can have the best day you can ?

NanKate Fri 17-Jan-20 07:06:23

Morning Mick and All.

Hoping the rain will hold off today as now I am released from the Sick Bay DH is taking me to Windsor for a little retail therapy. ?

Sorry to hear you have a jippy tum Kitty. You should put your feet up with your IPad for an hour or two.

Hoping for better news of Gilly Mary and her DGD. Good to hear Oldgaijin that you and the mutt were getting out for your usual constitutionals.

Scentia Fri 17-Jan-20 07:07:58

Good Morning all.

Had my DD snd DGS overnight so I am up and feeding weetabix to a very hungry boy before getting ready for work.

First thing in the morning has got to be my favourite time with children?

dragonfly46 Fri 17-Jan-20 07:10:55

Good morning, as Kitty says it is still dark here.
Sorry to hear about the gluten, it doesn’t take much.

A good meeting with my lovely oncologist yesterday. He was 20 minutes early!
First an appointment with the endocrinologist for DH then chemo for me today.
This is what they call living life to the full!

Hope every one has a good day especially marydoll, oldgaijin and I hope nannyjan’s SiL is out of hospital and love to gillly.

For those of you enjoying the sun in Spain I am just a teeny bit ?

nonnasusie Fri 17-Jan-20 07:12:59

Good morning from a very cold and foggy Italy. Zero on the thermometer and freezing fog. Just hope the sun breaks through later. Hope all who are unwell are on the mend soon. I've had a cold since Christmas and hopefully it's going at last. DH still has a horrible cough but he is on the mend too at last. Compared to what some of you are going through I shouldn't complain! Have a good weekend everyone.

Sark Fri 17-Jan-20 07:16:26

Good Morning everyone
Still dark in Oxfordshire but forecast to be quite sunny this weekend which will be lovely.
Glad it is Friday...has been a busy week at work etc
Sending best wishes and thinking of all the many GNs who have a lot going on.
I have had my fair share of worries/ sadness and reading the thread makes me count my blessings every day.
Hope all have as good a Friday as possiblesmile

DoraMarr Fri 17-Jan-20 07:18:25

Good morning from a rather damp Birmingham, with a glimmer of dawn on the horizon. My daughter is coming with the children this morning, preceded by my son in law with my three year old granddaughter. I have promised him a fried egg sandwich before he heads back to redecorate their bedroom. I hope we are all going to have a walk (or scoot!) in the park despite the ominous clouds. I might even treat them to lunch in the arts centre.
Thinking of those with problems- I hope you have as good a day as possible.

Grammaretto Fri 17-Jan-20 07:27:48

A good morning from the Scottish Borders where it's dry and quiet - at least that's in my bedroom. I keep getting the forecast wrong so perhaps shouldn't bother to try.

If you can see the hills it's about to rain. If you can't then it's raining.

I am heading for Glasgow and the GN meetup, sniffles and all, after breakfast so had better get a move on.

I send healing virtual vibes to Dragonfly,Oldgaijin , Gilly and all those who need extra help today.

Como2020 Fri 17-Jan-20 07:29:27

Good morning and hello to all.
Grey and damp, but thankfully no high winds or rain!

Marydoll Fri 17-Jan-20 07:35:33

Good morning dear early morning friends from a dark Glasgow , it's 7C and it's NOT raining! That means I will get to the meet up, dry! grin. Hoorah!

I hope you are not feeling under the weather Mick.

I'm so looking forward to the Glesca Grannies meet up today, but disappointed that some of our grans are unwell and can't make it.
Grammaretto, so glad to see you are coming!!!

After three days of nursing DGD, and DD's wedding planning meeeting last night, I'm shattered today. I hope I don't doze off during the meet up. ??
However, the wedding meeting was so reassuring. How things have changed since my son got married fifteen years ago, it was all so slick and my worries were allayed.

I hope all goes well for Dragonfly and her DH today, hoping for better news for all of the Gillybobs, that Nannyjan's SIL is on the mend and anyone I have missed is improving.
Kitty just take it easy today and oldgaijin , I hope you manage to get out with the mutt!
NanKate, you have my permission to treat yourself! grin

Ginny your friend is so lucky to have such a caring friend in you. flowers

Brunette10 Fri 17-Jan-20 07:42:25

Good Morning from a cold Fife, but t least it's dry. Feeling awful today but it is only a cold and sore throat but life goes on. Have DGS's today and looking forward to seeng them too. Not much energy but maybe that's not too a bad thing, will trying being restful with them today. Thinking a lot of those who are poorly and with troubles, be strong.

Brunette10 Fri 17-Jan-20 07:43:11

Sorry for spelling errors ladies, didn't check first wink

Pantglas2 Fri 17-Jan-20 07:43:24

Morning all from a dry but cloudy Spain- it’s not all sunshine dragonfly46 but I’ll settle for it staying dry today as it’s promising rain tomorrow!

I’m still in bed with my chamberpot of tea but will be up and at it soon - making kedgeree for brunch and printing boarding passes for return to lovely Wales next week.

Hope everyone has a good day without any (or in spite of) problems x

Mommawolf Fri 17-Jan-20 07:49:08

Susan56 Fri 17-Jan-20 08:12:32

Good morning from the Shropshire borders, still dark but can’t hear the rain so that’s a good sign.
We are off to West Wales today to finally celebrate Christmas with DH’s family.Am feeling a bit nervous about being so far from home as DH is still not 100% but our eldest daughter is coming with us and as she said if he feels unwell we will get in the car and come home.
Thank you so much to all for the encouraging messages and support over the last month. They have really kept my spirits up at what has been a pretty rubbish time.Hopefully onward and upwards now.
Sending my good wishes to all who are unwell and those with family members unwell, kitty’s Bertie,Mary’s DGD,NannyJan’s SIL,Mommawolf’s SIL and everybody else struggling with these horrible winter bugs.
Dragonfly, I hope your treatment goes well today.
Oldgaijin, glad you are getting out and about with the mutt.Sending love.
Hope you have had a better night gilly and that you have your referral.
Have a good day all.If I have missed anyone out, sorry?

cornergran Fri 17-Jan-20 08:14:03

Morning Mick, morning All. Hope you’re OK, mick, not like you to change your plans. Gloomy and dry in our corner of Somerset. Sky looks heavy. Will try for a food shop today, a little hampered as I’m struggling to speak, the return of the flipping germs. Thinking of you today dragonfly, sorry the gluten found you kitty and hope bertie is OK. Retail therapy sounds just the thing nankate, looking forward to hearing about the meet-up marydoll and pleased your granddaughter is better. Your family is having a rough time mommawolf, thinking of you all. Now who have I missed? Love as ever to gilly, strength to oldgajin and many apologies to anyone I’ve missed. Hoping Friday is kind to everyone.

kittylester Fri 17-Jan-20 08:14:56

Feeling a bit blush about the good wishes. Gluten ed tummy is small beer compared to what others are going through. It's a pesky nuisance but that is all. And probably my own fault for not being careful enough while we were away.

Mythbirtthedragon Fri 17-Jan-20 08:16:51

Good morning from east London, rain has stopped and I’m looking at a hopeful sky out of one window and a grey cloudy one out of the other. Off to Southend again today for more house cleaning/sorting; may be a crowd of us as DSD and her mum are joining us and DD may have a drive down with her DP and the baby. May get the chance of some fresh air as babies (and their grandmas) need walking. Looking forward to playing tennis tonight, only the second time this week.. Have a good day.

Feelingmyage55 Fri 17-Jan-20 08:17:19

Good morning. It is not raining for once. I am happy to report that the flu bug must be on its way out as I have eaten a slice of toast! What is it about hot toast - if you haven’t been well, come in from the cold or - oh that toast and tea after having a baby? I would take a loaf of bread for a toast treat if I was on a desert island. I shall raise a cup of tea to the Glasgow grannies at lunchtime and pretend I am with you.
oldgaijin ? Kind thoughts, take all the practical help you can and let your GN friends listen to you.

ninathenana Fri 17-Jan-20 08:17:44

Good morning from wet and very grey Kent.

Food shopping and coffee out this morning then a relaxing afternoon.
DD's friend had a 10lb 4oz baby yesterday. Lucky for her he was born by c-section.
Best wishes to all that have med appointments or are just poorly.

Lins1066 Fri 17-Jan-20 08:26:05

Good Morning Mick and all, feels cooler on the S Welsh coast but dry at the moment.
DH is taking the car for a service later today, we will do a small shop this morning though he has gone back to bed for a snooze as he didn't sleep well.
Hope all those with sickness and worries will be and feel better soon. Enjoy your belated Christmas Susan and her DH with your family. It is high time those germs left you corner. My love and support to oldgaijin, enjoy walking the mutt.
Hope Friday is kind to all.
