Good Morning Everyone,
Its dark but frosty here in Brackley this morning , hopefully the rest of the day continues the same.
Door painted , its a chocolate brown and with the walls looking a cream colour resembles a Great Western Carriage stock colour from the past.
They have different colour schemes on all floors, gather there maybe a dementia link as it may trigger memories for those who have it.
Today , for me shop and see what happens .
Mick

Good morning Mick and all to come.
Don’t know why I am awake and reading GN as I didn’t get back from Birmingham until 11 last night and I am shattered smile
It’s very dark and still and I hope it isn’t frosty as yesterday’s gentle but unremitting drizzle could make the roads very icy.
Not a lot planned today but out to supper with friends this evening. 3 out of the 5 of us are Scots so I am rather hoping it might be an unofficial Burns supper!
Wishing you all a pleasant and, if appropriate, peaceful day.

Good Morning Mickand Maw and all who follow. It’s wet as usual here.

Off to do a bit of a stock up shop today and then hope to find some craft videos to watch.

Hope you all are feeling better ready for the weekend to come ?

Morning all from North Leicestershire. It's not cold and I don't think that it's raining.

DH has a blood test first thing then we are going to the big blue and yellow warehouse today to look at floating shelves for the lounge refurbishment. Wish us luck!

Hoping everyone is feeling ok.

Sark Fri 24-Jan-20 07:02:40

Good morning Mick and everyone.
The monstrous moggy was the least of my problems yesterday evening! I arrived home from a rather difficult day at work to find our newly painted kitchen looking like a bomb had hit it! There was a leak under the bath so half the kitchen ceiling had come down ...water and plaster etc everywhere!! Plumber and our wonderful son in law sorted the mess and we now have a big hole in the ceiling!
Hoping for a less eventful day and wishing everyone as good a Friday as possible

Marydoll Fri 24-Jan-20 07:09:32

Good morning all from a wet and wild Glasgow. DH promised me it was to be dry this morning!!!

I have a blood test and at GP's and then a hospital appointment an hour later. DH has to wait in for a new gas meter to be installed, so I will have to drive myself and it is going to be very tight for time to say the least!!!
I'm not looking forward to the appointment at all!

What a disaster, Sark and what a mess, you must have come home to.

Best wishes to all those with worries and feeling unwell. flowers

Scentia Fri 24-Jan-20 07:19:47

Good Morning all, it is mild but dark here in East Staffordshire.
‘Working from home!’ today, so have a day with my DD and DGS. So long as I have my phone on me I am working?

My bad throat is back this morning ?

I think we will go for a long walk after cleaning and shopping as I have no money left until payday next week. It is hard in January as we always get paid before Christmas.
I hope you all have a good day and a bright start to the weekend ❤️

Urmstongran Fri 24-Jan-20 07:21:23

Good morning everyone from Malaga where it’s still dark. We had sheet lightening during the night but no thunder so somewhere was bearing the brunt of a big storm.

Print off boarding passes today (we don’t have smartphones but dumb phones!) and a tickle round this small place ... mop the floor, quick clean of the bathroom so that should take - oh, all of an hour!

Gosh that was a shock to come home to Sark.

Hope your appointments go well today Marydoll take care driving.

I’ve no particular plans today otherwise. Hope Friday is kind to us all whether we have plans or, like me, none. x

NanKate Fri 24-Jan-20 07:28:09

Morning Mick and All.

I’m not keen on the colour scheme Mick I can’t imagine you are either.

Kitty you haven’t been on those funny cigies again have you, looking for floating shelves ??

So pleased you are sorted, well almost, Sark.

Hope you make all your connections today Mary.

Off to see The Snow Queen Panto tonight by our brilliant local theatre group. ‘It’s behind you, No it’s not’.

GrannyGravy13 Fri 24-Jan-20 07:29:35

Goodmorning Mick,and all x

Still dark here in SE Essex, off to the gym first thing, then hopefully meeting DD and baby for a coffee in our favourite little cafe. Meeting friends for dinner this evening in a restaurant on the seafront (whilst I am not a fan of being in the sea I love being close to it)

Keep,safe and warm folks x

Good Morning from another dark and damp Black Country. It was a balmy 6 deg in the car earlier !

Had a lovely walk yesterday along canals in Birmingham, ending up at the Jewellery Quarter train station. Took a photo of the "Banksy" on the wall outside of 2 Reindeers. There were at least 30 of us yesterday. Had a coffee back home at the new Vegan café. A Gingerbread Latte! It was delish!

No real plans today, I may go and join the Friday morning Walking for Health walk, see how I feel in an hour. Should really do some housework.

What a shock Sark that happened to us a couple of years ago.

Wishing you all a good day. Hope your appointments go well Marydoll . Best wishes also to Gilly, Oldgajin Dragonfly Hope I haven't missed anyone.

Alygran Fri 24-Jan-20 07:38:36

Good morning from North Yorkshire. Still dark here and I haven’t peeped out to see what the weather is like.
Meeting at County Hall this morning with a fellow trustee. We are after some support and funding for our little charity.
Hopefully a quiet afternoon as it’s been a busy week and I am feeling pretty tired.
Hope Friday is kind to you all.

cornergran Fri 24-Jan-20 07:52:32

Morning Mick, morning All from a dark corner of Somerset. Dry so far, rain forecast. Food shop this morning then quick after school visit to Littlest and his Mum before more shops. All I need is the energy to do it all. Blimey sark what a shock, good luck with catching those shelves kitty, safe travels marydoll and urmston. Hope Friday is kind to everyone.

ninathenana Fri 24-Jan-20 08:11:29

Morning all.
Another grey day in "the garden of England"
Supermarket shop this morning. DD is coming with us as she wants to look at a car. She has had a good settlement from her insurance and now needs to find a replacement.
Good luck to all those with appointments and I hope the sick soon feel better.

Pantglas2 Fri 24-Jan-20 08:11:34

Morning all from a dark but dry north Wales where I’m enjoying the chamberpot of tea in bed (I’ve done some yoga while making/brewing so feel quite entitled to loll a little!)

Welcome granny7 from Cheshire- not far from me! And whywhywhy I’m intrigued by how you chose your username!

Trotting out to see my dad later this afternoon and the a cuppa with a friend after as she lives still lives in the same village we grew up in.

Here’s a large pan of my chicken soup I promised for all still in the sick bay - cures the lurgy - guaranteed! Good day for all with worries x

Susan56 Fri 24-Jan-20 08:18:23

Good morning from the Shropshire borders.Another damp day.
Had DGD for a sleepover, she got up at 1, was sick then got back into bed and straight back to sleep. She woke up this morning and said I’m better now.Grandma however feels a wreck,I didn’t get straight back to sleep? Not much planned today.

Hope your hospital appointment goes well Mary and also hope Mr gilly’s appointment goes well.
Thinking of oldgaijin and Ellen’s family.
Hope everyone has a good day.

BlueSapphire Fri 24-Jan-20 08:32:34

Good morning everyone from a dull and damp Northampton.
Spent another day in yesterday, and spent the afternoon watching a couple of films I'd recorded (Rebecca with Lawrence Olivier, and Ballet Shoes), as BT have sent me a new set top box, and once it's installed I will lose all the recordings on the old one. Apparently they give me 60 days for installation, so I have asked DD and her husband if they will give me a hand with that in about 6 weeks time.
DD called in yesterday and picked up my rugby season ticket for a friend to use tonight, as I do not fancy sitting in the cold for two hours upwards. It is on TV luckily so will watch it from the comfort of my armchair in the warm!
May watch another film this afternoon, and that's about it for today.
Sark, what a shock for you to come home to. When my hot water tank sprang a leak last year I was so glad I was around to notice before too much damage was done. If I had been on holiday I would have come home to the hall ceiling down and flooded carpets downstairs.
Hope everyone's day goes well.

Mythbirtthedragon Fri 24-Jan-20 08:36:05

Good morning from east London, cloudy and dry, doesn’t feel too cold. I’m afraid I’m starting to think of Southend as ‘that place’ as back there today with DP to sort and clean. We also need to move on BiL’s car - tax runs out next month - but I suspect it’s next stop will be at the scrapyard. Hope you have a good day.

Grammaretto Fri 24-Jan-20 08:38:12

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. It looks dull and damp.
We were up late eating, drinking and reminiscing with DS &DBiL. They will have their golden wedding soon. Where have the years gone!

Yoga this morning but I'm feeling a bit rough. too much wine
What an awful homecoming for you Sark I hope the ceiling can be quickly repaired.

vena11 Fri 24-Jan-20 08:38:14

Good Morning from another dull day here in Bristol, we had 2 nice frosty days which I prefer apart from having to scrap the car windows.
My DD birthday today ,I wont see her until tomorrow but will celebrate then.
Meeting today for lunch with GN ladies second time,it will be nice to get to know each other a bit more.
I hope everyone has a pleasant day and their coughs and cold and ills are a bit better.

lavenderzen Fri 24-Jan-20 08:44:14

Good morning everyone. Dull, raining, and cold here. Shopping to do today.
Hope all have a good day and those who are poorly/worried start to feel better.

Auntieflo Fri 24-Jan-20 08:49:14

Good morning Michael, Annie to come, and all others.
It's looks damp outside, but I am still enjoying my tea in the warm.
This afternoon I have my physio. I had thought it was yesterday, but realised just in time. So I altered the neckline of a jumper instead. Very satisfying, and I shall wear it today.
Sark hope you have recovered from the shock of your leak. What a shame to have your decorating spoiled.
Take care driving Marydoll, and I hope you find a parking slot at the hospital.
Have a good day one and all.

Harris27 Fri 24-Jan-20 08:50:38

Good morning all. A different Friday to my normal week as I am going out with son number three as treat for my upcoming big birthday. Love his company as we have the same sense of fun and can’t wait to get dolled up and go. Can’t believe the big 60 is a couple of days away but I’m embracing it by spending different days with the people I love, only one problem my asthma has flared up,and have taken steroids so as not to spoil my lovely plans. Have a good Friday all.

Anniebach Fri 24-Jan-20 08:55:05
