Good Evening Friday

Some people say "Thank goodness it's Friday" but as a long-time retiree I say thank goodness I'm here to see any day of the week!
Weather not too bad, 25C and helping the fire-fighters Some fires still going and next week we are promised a return to the 40s!
Another tragedy; this time a miner trapped one kilometre down a mine! I wouldn't think he was working alone, but I haven't seen any confirmation as to whether any others escaped. An interesting use of new technology in that they sent a heat-seeking drone down to search! shock
So Venus dropped out of her orbit! She looked rather heavy to be charging around against the younger fitter set, but now we get closer to the "pointy" end of the tournament.
And can't any EPL team beat the Scousers? It's getting tiresome as well as annoying for us "City" faithful! sad
Australia Day holiday this weekend and the Chinese New Year of the Rat. I guess our 4-legged friends (pooches I mean, not rats) will have to endure more fireworks; so long as that new Chinese "pandemic" remains contained.
Bedtime again, hmm

Well that was a round up rufus! Fingers crossed the fires don't flare up as badly as last time.
Night night! (However it's lunchtime here ????

rufus sorry to hear about the miner. Hope he can be rescued.
I am not a tennis fan (it is tennis isn’t it ?) so assumed your comment about Venus was the planet, especially when you used the word orbit (I realise now it was a joke ?). I was a might concerned when you mentioned the pointy end as I thought it was round. Then the penny dropped.
Hope the hot temperature next week doesn’t make the fires worse. You’ve all been having a really tough time recently.
No idea what the time is where you are so sleep well if that is an appropriate comment ?

Good evening Rufus. and Goodnight. Sleep well.

I was thinking planets, too, and wondering why I hadn’t heard it on the news.

I don’t envy your 40° next week - I can hardly cope when it’s 30 here, but more importantly PG the fires don’t get worse.

I think it's little sister Serena who is out of the Australian Open, Rufus.

Let's hope the fires can be controlled before the heat returns next week, or that the winds change direction and you get some cooler air.
Sending hopes that the miner can be rescued, had there been a rock fall?

Have a good Australia Day ? ??
