Good Morning everyone from a dark Severnside. I think it’s dry.

Enjoyed my swim yesterday. I’m not really great at swimming, I just get in the water and waggle my limbs about.

I’m feeling a worn out from the physical work I’ve been doing for the last few days so I think I’ll take myself off for a mooch around the shops today.

Let’s hope for a good day ?

Grammaretto Wed 05-Feb-20 06:38:03

Good morning Mick and all from the Scottish Borders. I hope for another sunny day like yesterday. It lifts our mood.
Craft group, badminton and posting a parcel. That'll do for today.

Good Morning its dry again here today, up early for the school run. I have been awake since 3 am and now I want to go to sleep but duty calls, nap later.
It has been so sad on GN the last week and I am thinking of all with worries, lets hope the rest of the week is more positive for everyone
Take care everyone

Goodmorning all from a soggy Norfolk. Going to make a start on the kitchen garden today. It needs a total deep dig. The new bee hives are being delivered this morning DH will site them ready for the bees in a few weeks time. Wishing you all a good day spring is out there somewhere.

kittylester Wed 05-Feb-20 07:02:33

Morning all from a still dark and slightly chilly North Leicestershire.

BiL is flying home today so dh has to get him to the airport bus by 9 am. He is then going to the gym. I'm just taking it easy. grin

It really has been a sad week on GN and I am thinking of everyone who is struggling in any way.

Welcome to all new comers. As I usually post early, I miss adding a welcome on the actual day.

This is a lovely thread and it was a brilliant idea of Mick to start it all those years ago. It's great to see how much it means to posters.

Good Morning everyone from a still dark Oxfordshire.
Off to work soon but will also be doing some kitchen door research. After our kitchen ceiling nightmare we have decided to update and change the cupboard doors etc. I think it is safe to say that I am more enthusiastic than DH and definitely more than the cat will be as he is likely to sit in the hallway and not let anyone near the kitchen!!
Mommawolf how did Zebedee get on at school..I expect the children loved him!?
Thinking of those with health worries or sadness and hoping for a better day for all.

Scentia Wed 05-Feb-20 07:16:08

Good Morning all from East Staffordshire, it looks cold out there this morning.

Taking my FiL for a hospital appointment today. Hope the nursing home have him ready, as they don’t usually remember. I called them at 8,00pm last night to remind them!
I have decided I would like to start doing jigsaws, not sure where this epiphany has come from, but I will go around the second hand shops at the weekend to see if I can find an interesting one.
Such a sad few days on the GM thread, I do hope everyone has a good day today.

Mythbirtthedragon Wed 05-Feb-20 07:16:20

Good morning from east London, cooler today with the sky lightening up. Tennis this morning and a quick choir session this evening to run through the songs for our ‘gig’ in 2 weeks time. Took about 5 bags of DD’s stuff to the charity shop yesterday; had to warn them about the singing goat puppet and ‘breathing doll’, both of which seem to have lost the off button and break into voice on an impromptu basis. We’ve got another load in the dining room from Southend but think we’d better give it a few days before going back to the shop. Hope you have a good day.

Urmstongran Wed 05-Feb-20 07:38:02

Good morning everyone from South Manchester where I have woken to a real pea souper - most unexpected. Can’t think of the last time it was foggy here. Never mind the Pennines I can’t even see the shops over the road!

We are going out for lunch with my stepfather today, picking him up and he has chosen where he’d like to eat. It’s a place where we used to go when mum was with us. I can’t believe it’s 2y next month since she died. This will certainly be a trip down memory lane. We have decided to go out for lunch, the three of us, once a week and hopefully, as the weather gets warmer we plan to venture further afield. It will do us all good and it’s a nice way to spend time together having a proper catch up (and a good meal!).

Yes it’s been very sad and quiet on here these last few days hasn’t it? It will be good to hear from our newbies.

Hope Wednesday is good to us all whether we have plans or none. x

Morning Mick and All.

Cold and clear in South Bucks.

MommaW I love the stories of all your animals and preparation for the bees. It’s like All Creatures Great and Small.

A breathing doll Myth now that is spooky.

Take a rest Kitty entertaining family can be exhausting.

Last minute shopping for the weekend at the boys’ home celebrating both their birthdays.

ninathenana Wed 05-Feb-20 07:39:04

Good morning everyone.
Grey and very still in Kent. The calm before the storm we ate forecast for weekend.
DH is going to cut my cousins lawns today. I will stay and have coffee and a gossip whilst he does.
Good wishes to all who are troubled or poorly.

NannyJan53 Wed 05-Feb-20 07:42:35

Good Morning from a dry Black Country, but with the most magnificent red sky!

Saw the film The Good Liar yesterday at our Town Hall. For £4.00 a biscuit and a cuppa! It was a very good film with an unexpected ending. It was supposed to be Knives Out, but they changed the film.

Today I am meeting a friend for coffee at a local garden centre. We met a couple of years ago on the beach at Lindos. Just goes to prove you meet people at the most unexpected and random places.

Oldgaijin is constantly on my mind, and her daughter and family.

Wishing you all a good day, with special thoughts to Gilly Marydoll and Dragonfly Also, a big welcome to all the newcomers over the last few days flowers

Good morning everyone from a bright Northampton, but feels chilly.
Had a day in yesterday and watched another recorded film on TV - Far from the Madding Crowd - not as good as the Julie Christie version, in my opinion, but passed an afternoon.
Will try and make a health walk this afternoon.
Hope today will be a happier one for all - enjoy your trip to Northampton, Mick.

Good Morning from a dry Fife, think it's going to another lovely day like yesterday, let's hope so. Off to get col/cut this morning after a few months of trying to grow hair longer, without success, however I will feel much better after it's all chopped off. It has been sad recently on GN and like others can't seem to stop thinking about it but everyone by the sounds of things are trying to lift their spirits, I shall do the same but still thinking of those with worries and troubles. Hoping today is good for everyone. Take care.

Alygran Wed 05-Feb-20 07:53:57

Good morning from North Yorkshire. There’s a clear blue sky this morning with pink on the horizon. The conservatory roof has the most amazing ice pattern , there must have been a sudden drop in temperature.
Off to Harrogate this morning to meet a friend, one I met on holiday in Cyprus more than 25 years ago. Although we kept in touch our regular coffee catch up is more recent. Lovely to hear about the family and new generations.
After that I will call into Fountains Abbey to see the snowdrops.
Hope today is kind to everyone.

Alygran Wed 05-Feb-20 07:57:01

It took me so long to type the sun popped up! Pic of the ice too.

Good morning everyone from NE Scotland. A lovely morning here with a spectacular sunrise. Nothing planned for today except getting the spare room sorted after redecoration - it’s my sewing room/study too so that’s a bit more exciting than it sounds!
I’m new here so don’t know the sadness that people are speaking of but I do send best wishes to all those who are having a hard time. We’re having a few problems too - DH’s health and DD and DS’s jobs - so I know how worrying things can be. flowers for all who need them.

Mommawolf Wed 05-Feb-20 08:10:25

SARK zebedee loved school really showed off. We have never had a bad tempered alpaca they love people can be very naughty at times especially when you are trying to catch them zebedee just loves attention he is still young but has the making of a real star.

Lins1066 Wed 05-Feb-20 08:13:46

Good Morning Mick and all. A lovely sunrise here on the S Welsh coast, a pink streaked sky.

DD returned from a trip to Berlin and Amsterdam last night, she managed to get a ticket to visit the Anne Frank house.

DH is slowly getting better but his leg is still painful. Hope everyone will have a good day.

DoraMarr Wed 05-Feb-20 08:18:08

Good morning from Birmingham, where it is dry and cold, but with some sun. I’m going to a conference on ageing artfully today, with some very good speakers. It’s at the arts’ centre next door. I’m wondering what to wear, but think I might iron a denim dress and wear that. It was so windy yesterday two of the taller plants on my balcony were blown over, so I will have to see to them before I go out.
Best wishes to all who are suffering and sad today.

Susan56 Wed 05-Feb-20 08:19:48

Good morning from the Shropshire borders.Looks like it’s going to be a dry day.
We have the surveyor coming round today to measure up for new windows and we will be carrying on with sorting upstairs ready for decorating.
Thinking of all with illness, worry and sadness.
Hope you are feeling better today Mary and dragonfly and that you have had a better night gilly.

Ginny42 Wed 05-Feb-20 08:22:58

Good morning Mick and everyone. I'm late this morning as I was up for about 3 hours in the night and fell asleep around 5! It was glorious moonlight all night and blue sky this morning in Cheshire but people are having to de-ice windscreens.

What with people on this thread playing badminton and tennis, I feel exhausted thinking about it! Going for a walk in the woods, then meeting my sister coming over to a very nice village near me for lunch and a mooch in the shops.

Welcome to all the newbies and kind thoughts and get well wishes to all those feeling poorly or sad, especially the Gillybobs Marydoll and dragonfly flowers
