Good Morning Everyone,
Its dark but dry here in Brackley and maybe cold outside.
Unlike some parts of the UK we seem not to have had any snow showers or other but with another storm approaching this weekend we will see.
Myself a quiet day today , will spend time indoors maybe with a small shop and get the paper.
Mick

Morning Mick and All.

Sunshine to come but it will be cold here in South Bucks.

Bought the Valentine’s Meal in M and S for Friday and realise I did not get the ‘free’ chocs so will go back with my receipt today to collect them.

Hope the poorly GNetters are feeling better today ?

Urmstongran Wed 12-Feb-20 06:41:49

Good very early morning from South Manchester! Weird how some mornings I can’t peel myself out of bed but when I have an alarm set (6:30am this morning as going over to mind the grandchildren at their house) I often wake 15 minutes or so before the alarm goes off!

Sat having a cuppa and reading the on line news headlines then will get dressed and off. Good job we go together I’d be exhausted to do it on my own!

Book club tonight in the back room of a local wine bar. I’ve not finished the book. Will I get time to read some more of it today I wonder? Hmm.

Hope Wednesday is good to us all whether we have plans or none. x

Morning Mick, morning All from a clear, cold corner of Somerset. Sunshine forecast today, no idea what we’ll do but I’m sure we will be outside for some of the day. That’s given me an idea for Friday nankate, will investigate. Hope Wednesday is kind to everyone especially those unwell or with worries of any kind.

Bellasnana Wed 12-Feb-20 06:55:09

Good morning from Malta where the weather is bright and yesterday’s wind seems to have dropped.

Still struggling to get out of bed, but once I do I have a busy day ahead. Take dog to kennels, come home and clean through, do ironing and finish packing.

I’m off to visit a friend in the Isle of Man tomorrow. We have been friends since we met at college 45 years ago. Where have the years gone?

Hope everyone has a good day. Thinking of those with troubles and hoping things will improve. sunshine

Good Morning all from East Staffordshire. Weather looks dry and it feels a little more milder than of late.
Normal work day for me today. Must go to Argos to collect the extender for the stair gate I bought on Sunday. It did say to measure the aperture but I felt those instructions didn’t apply to me?. We have DGS on Friday night so need it, as he is like a rocket if he decides to go!!
Hope everyone who is not at their best has a better day today.

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. We had snow yesterday. I have to get to the dentist this morning and wonder if the buses are running.
DB &SiL staying so we'll take them somewhere nice later.
I hope you all have a nice day. Keep cosy.

Beechnut Wed 12-Feb-20 07:02:07

Good Morning everyone from Severnside where it is dry and getting light.

I hope to meet up with DD sometime today and we are going to see niece/cousin.

Enjoy your day everyone ?

Marydoll Wed 12-Feb-20 07:07:34

Good morning Mick and all from a dark and wild Glasgow, we have snow forecast for later. sad.
I feel this miserable weather is never ending.

We have DGD again today and as Urmstongran says, thank goodness there are two of us! grin.
We kept busy yesterday, but being stuck indoors didn't help. DGD was fine, until my sister in law arrived, then she started playing up. She was like Jekyll and Hyde. Her asthma medication can badly affect her behaviour. Those of you who take steroids or have GC on them, will know exactly what I mean. ?

DD has been stranded on the Isle of Arran since Saturday, not only has the weather caused cancellations, the ferry is now out of action and no replacement in sight. She will now lose wages, she can ill afford to lose before her wedding. ?
I just want her home.

Thinking of all those with sorrow and worries and our patients in sick bay, Dragonfly, Susan, Baggs and the Gillybobs. I'm sure I may have forgotten someone, so apologies.

Goodmorning all from a cold soggy Norfolk, not quite as slippery as yesterday. Builders merchants delivery this morning DH and the boys have decided that the only way to fix the enclosure drainage is to put in underground pipes so will have a yard full of pipes for awhile. Hoping to get it started Friday before the next round of bad weather hits. Today is a cake making day ready to feed the workers. Hope all who are struggling have a good day. Take care everyone.

QuaintIrene Wed 12-Feb-20 07:23:09

Good morning everyone.
My internet wasn’t working yesterday. The box in the window sill was flashing all colours but it seems ok now.
The weather is terrible here in West Yorkshire. Not fit to go out.
Little cat keeps going but she sleeps a lot even for a cat.
Love to all ill or troubled ?

Good Morning from an icy Black Country. Had to scrape car this morning.

Urmston I have been retired almost3 years now, but still get up to take my Partner to the train station! He was 69 last week, but still works full time. Looking forward to more lie ins when he finally decides to retire!

Bellasnana I have a friend I met in 1973 at college, and we now live 5 minutes walk from one another.

I have woken up with a cold! Where did that come from, as I was fine yesterday?

NanKatewe have the M & S Valentines meal, but also the chocolates smile. Last year we couldn't open the Prosecco, so I had to take it back and swap!

So hope your DD will be home safely soon Marydoll

Wishing you all a good day, with special thoughts to Gilly Dragonfly Susan Lins and Baggs

Marydoll Wed 12-Feb-20 07:36:32

Good morning Mick and everyone. It's cold but dry in my corner of Cheshire so far.

I was awake early, but went to see the latest David Copperfield film last night and lay in bed this morning going over it in my head. How did they do the street scenes? What wonderful views of the sea, etc.

I must go and see my housebound friend. Finally found someone to refer her for help in filling in a very lengthy form to hopefully receive attendance allowance to offset cost of care.

Dinner tonight with the supper club and I particularly like this month's restaurant, so looking forward to that later.

Warm wishes to all feeling poorly or with worries. Thinking especially of those recovering from treatment or with injuries. Dragonfly and Susan. Hope Baggs has found some pain relief. The date is coming nearer Gilly. flowersflowersflowersflowers

Good morning from North Yorkshire. It’s clear and dry so far but still windy.
Off to a volunteer network meeting today then some admin with one of my fellow trustees.
Sending good wishes to all on the sick list.
Take care out there in the bad weather everyone.

Pantglas2 Wed 12-Feb-20 07:42:23

A quick morning all from me - my feet haven’t touched the ground since I got DH home!

I take my hat off to Gillybob as she does what I’m doing AND goes to work AND runs around after her family - a medal for you Madame!

Hope all unwell have a better day and the approaching storm doesn’t turn into Dennis the Menace - we lost an empty shed to Ciara and DH thinks he’s gonna chop it up.......shock

Baggs Wed 12-Feb-20 07:43:54

good morning from Argyll. It's a cold morning, probably as cold as we've had it this winter so far. In a way it's a bit of a relief being off work because I have to go down our icy unlit Hill early. My Kahtoola spikes are very good for walking on ice but still… mr bags has been able to work at home this week which is good it saves him having to commute by car and train and it means I've got extra hands available when necessary.

i'm finding I can do small amounts of sewing one-handed so I'm working on a table runner for a friend, one of my scrappies, as I called them.

Hope everyone has a good Wednesday, trials and tribulation is notwithstanding. TOYA

Baggs Wed 12-Feb-20 07:45:24

scrappy in progress and one we hung a few days ago

Pittcity Wed 12-Feb-20 07:46:17

Good morning from sunny Colchester. Feels chilly though. We've escaped the worst of the weather here but the nearby coastal towns have been badly hit. Here's hoping Dennis is kinder!
Weekly meetup in town this morning.

Brunette10 Wed 12-Feb-20 07:58:48

Good Morning from Fife, where it is very cold but quite bright. This weather is just awful and think we are all in for some more over weekend. My Uncle was supposed to be coming through from the West for lunch today but since there is so much happening with the weather and roads it's not feasible now to do that. We shall have another quietish day although DD is off today so may have visit with DGS's - I hope so smile Keep safe everyone. Thinking of all with ailments and worries. Take care.

Lins1066 Wed 12-Feb-20 07:59:01

Good Morning Mick and all. The weather is cold, clear and dry here on our part of the Welsh coast. Yesterday the wind was so cold, luckily no damage to report though.
Not feeling great this morning so won't be doing much. DH says he's ok but he has little energy.
Thinking of those with illness and worry at the moment, especially dragonfly,Susan,Baggs and the Gillybobs

Nannytopsy Wed 12-Feb-20 07:59:43

Morning all! The tree surgeon has arrived but his men are held up by a fallen tree! ??
Once they are done I can really make a start on my new garden.
I hope today is kind to you all.

Good morning from a bright chilly Essex. Off for Nanny Wednesday shortly. Collect DGS1 for school run and then woodland walk with DGS2. We seem to be lucky with the weather for our Wednesday walks and have only been rained off a couple of times. Hope everyone has the best day they can before the next storm arrives! xxx
