Love to you all morethan. Share here if it helps. Please don’t think you can’t.

Sounds a difficult time for your family kitty. Look after yourself.

A poem full of hope soop, thank your for sharing it with us.

Considering wielding a hoover Charley? No, never on a Saturday, somewhere there’s a law that says so grin.

We’ve marched around the streets today greyd, far fewer people than the usually quiet places. Frustrating isn’t it?

Did a quick and hopefully safe trip into Waitrose at 8 o’clock. Incredibly impressed with their systems and organisation. Hopefully nationwide.

Off to do something useful now. TOYA, stay safe

I still haven't emptied the washing machine. Why? You may ask. I am anxious to open our new kitchen before any of you lot get lost. I would not want to imagine such a thing. You are far too precious.

soop Sat 28-Mar-20 14:42:51

eazybee Your message to morethan couldn't have been more appropriate.

soop Sat 28-Mar-20 14:41:25

GrannySomerset I googled him a short time ago. He has written many books of poetry. I will treat myself to one in due course.

GrannySomerset Sat 28-Mar-20 14:22:49

Thank you for the helpful and appropriate poem, Soop. I have copied it into my commonplace book. Do you know anything about the poet?

Doodle Sat 28-Mar-20 14:18:38

morethan if virtual love and prayers can help you then be assured that is what you are getting from the kitchen. Please continue to post whenever you feel able. Thinking of you and your dear family. I echo feelingmyage’s sentiment. flowers

soop a lovely poem and some nice paintings too. I always love paintings of paths, leading you on to who knows where ?
panache (sorry I know you have a new name but that’s how I think of you). There was no danger of us forgetting you and we are so pleased to have you back with us. Keep safe.
TOYA ?

eazybee Sat 28-Mar-20 14:16:11

Morethan, the only thing I can offer is that her precious children and husband are altogether with her; hold onto the picture of them laughing at the film.

Greyduster Sat 28-Mar-20 14:13:20

Soop those paintings are, as always, wonderful. It’s a strange thing about that photograph - I was saying to DH this morning that it looks for all the world as if it is either level or a slight incline, when it’s actually a fair slope down into the bottom of the valley. Optical illusion?

soop Sat 28-Mar-20 14:05:57

Smileless You have just reminded me that I have still to empty the washing machine. hmm

soop Sat 28-Mar-20 14:04:39

I wasn't able to locate the painting that I wished to share with you Greyduster . Here are two from the same era...

Smileless2012 Sat 28-Mar-20 14:03:48

Dreamkeeper Us lot are happy knowing that you will visit us again soon.

soop Sat 28-Mar-20 13:57:39

Feelingmyage Kind words. Thank you.

Greyduster I particulary like the photo of the lane. If I can find it, I shall share a watercolour that I painted of a similar view (a good number of years ago.)

Dreamkeeper Sat 28-Mar-20 13:55:32

Putting loving arms around you dear morethan, your dearest Dil and her loving family,an immensly poignant time for you all, loving prayers for that extra strength needed at this time.

I might have known there would still be such a warm welcome and kind thoughts from my Kitchen friends, once again you have touched my heart.Thank you all.

Sadly I may not be able to contribute very much just yet as I have to wait for help in setting up my lap top etc as I am still rather useless with my tablet.

Love and Blessings,keep safe.
Panache.

Carillion When did your lockdown start? We have just short of three months before ours is completed. It may even be extended. I would like to think that you will be able to have a proper birthday celebration with you husband. You have both been through a very stressful time and deserve some fun. I bet that there will be a non-stop party in store for us all in due course.

soop Sat 28-Mar-20 13:47:55

This was written by the late John O'Donohue...

This is the time to be slow,
Lie low to the wall
Until the bitter weather passes.
Try as best you can, not to let
The wire brush of doubt
Scrape from your heart
All sense of yourself
And your hesitant light.
If you remain generous,
Time will come good;
And you will find your feet
Again on fresh pastures of promise,
Where the air will be kind
And blushed with beginning.

dragonfly any distraction to stop me from making an acquaintance with my hoover.

soop Sat 28-Mar-20 13:33:41

anno The beauty of our kitchen is that it can be virtually any size we need. Let us virtually sit close to each other. Virtual hugs are essential.

dragonfly I have just read a beautiful poem. I'm about to copy it and share with you all. I shall be about ten minutes. Don't go too far. wink

soop Sat 28-Mar-20 13:29:48

morethan Whenever you need to share...here you will be assured of kindness. Please do not stay away. I wish with all my heart that we could all do something to ease your pain. flowers

Welcome, dollymcg. We shall shortly be moving into our new kitchen. When we do, we shall have a virtual celebration to mark the event.

callgirl1 Grace is a poppet. She looks wordly-wise. I can see a striking resemblance between you both.

Galen Sat 28-Mar-20 13:21:12

morethan there’s nothing I can say that others haven’t already said!
Love and prayers be with you.

We're out for a lonesome walk in the sunshine. I just needed to make sure that we still have time left to gather in our kitchen. It's possible that, later today, we may need to move into the new one that is having the finishing touches added. We need a cosy, restful, linger-longer haven in which to gather and do what we hope we do best...comfort and celebrate in equal measure.

I shall return at lunchtime.

annodomini Sat 28-Mar-20 11:05:24

Dear morethan, I can't take in how miserable it is for you to be separated from your DiL and the family. Isolation at such a time is the last thing you wanted or could have imagined in your worst nightmares.
grey, those photos remind me of the lovely walks I've had in the past in the Peak District. I'm horrified to hear that your walk has been spoiled by morons defying the distancing rules.
callgirl, Grace is a real wee person now, isn't she. It's so cruel that you can't get the cuddles you must be longing for.
soop, I think we must be nearing the end of this kitchen. We're going to need a much bigger one, with us all having to keep six feet apart!

dragonfly46 Sat 28-Mar-20 09:43:58

I have been thinking about the positives arising from the current situation - there has been a halt to global warming, I no longer worry that everyone is leading a more exciting life than me and the best one is I can now ring family and friends at any time and I know where they will be! ?

dragonfly46 Sat 28-Mar-20 09:40:22

What beautiful pictures have appeared since I was last in the kitchen.

So sorry I missed your birthday purplepixie.

Wonderful to have you back with Mr P Dreamkeeper.

Morethan what can I say? So sad you cannot be with your family at this time.
