Sorry if I am the only one new to this but yesterday my daughter called me and we used WhatsApp video call. So basically if you have a smart phone you can install the app and phone people with the video link. I've never really had much interest before but it was super easy and worth giving a go.

We have a family WhatsApp group that’s used all the time with odd bits of news, photos etc I can tell you it’s stopping me feeling isolated to know what all my family are up to at any given time. Yesterday we had pics of offices being set up on dining tables and little ones who were sent home from nursery some of it was very funny.
It will be very useful over the coming months.

Skype is easy too. Both are very intuitive.

Sometimes Whatsapp works better than Skype. Dead easy to use.

We have a family whatsapp group and we are all making at least one post a day and including a picture of something that has made us smile or a joke or anecdote.
Also regularly texting friends. Just a little thing but really helps .

LullyDully I’ve just searched but couldn’t find one.

WhatsApp so good for keeping in touch especially as it doesn’t matter whether you use Android or Apple devices. Favourite video recently has been DD, working from home and pinned in the loo by DGD aged 15 months standing close to the door outside. DD assured us colleagues at work rarely do this?

Sorry tanith I didn't make myself clear. Just for the South Hampshire grans who meet up sometimes, not for all other grans. It's easier than just sticking to the forum to arrange a get together.

Our family group started with the birth of Ruaridh nearly a year ago. Daily pic's or videos from Daddy plus all sorts of nonsense. Will be a great comfort over the next few weeks!

We have a family WhatsApp group. Our children and their families are scattered around the country and we get lots of messages and videos in 'normal' times but we're getting even more at the moment while everybody is working/learning from home which is lovely. Thoroughly recommend it!
