A few weeks ago I bought a packet of chocolate hearts (originally a Valentine's treat) which were reduced in M&S from £1.20 to 20p, I then returned to buy more as incidental treats for friends and members of club/groups to which I belong.
I bought 4 boxes and lugged them home on the bus.
Since then I have been on holiday and clubs, groups and meeting friends have been cancelled or not a good idea.
I'm wondering what to do with a surfeit of chocolate as the best before date is 29/09/2020 and we may still be incarcerated ?????????
?☹️
I welcome any practical ideas but no rude suggestions. grin

Enjoy it! You have another six months.
Alternatively
You may still be getting deliveries fro Royal Mail/ Hermes/ DPD etc - give some to them..

GabriellaG54 Thu 19-Mar-20 14:25:02

Pics...there are 96 boxes ?

GabriellaG54 Thu 19-Mar-20 14:31:31

A good idea MawB, thank you. I am getting a return collected tomorrow by Hermes so that's one...leaving 95 to be dispersed.
I might stand outside Waitrose and try selling them for 25p each which will defray my initial expense....

Only kidding ??

You could send 94 to me and keep one for yourself Gabriella? don't want to appear greedy

GabriellaG54 Thu 19-Mar-20 14:41:23

I could send them all to GNHQ...as a sweetener ?

I'll take a few off your hands - of course they'll keep in the freezer. I sometimes put chocs in the freezer so I don't eat too many - you can then have a bit of a chew and they last longer!

There's always your postman the one who always rings twice wink

Hand them out to all the people who are keeping our towns and cities running - care workers, police, GP staff, bus drivers, delivery drivers, postmen, shop workers, pharmacists etc etc.

They are all putting themselves at greater risk on our behalf.

What amazing will power you have, I would have eaten most of them by now

Oink.......

We bought four or five last year but didn't see them this year - not in at the right time.

maddyone Thu 19-Mar-20 16:54:36

A few weeks ago Gabriella! They wouldn’t have lasted that long in my house!

GabriellaG54 Thu 19-Mar-20 17:00:59

Great idea wildswan16
I'll start tomorrow when I have my elderly hour in Tesco from 9-10.
I'll be sure to wear gloves too. grin

Yeah...but there's only me here and I have quite strong willpower. If I open one....you know how it is ???

grannyactivist Thu 19-Mar-20 17:04:29

What willpower you must have GabriellaG54. shock smile
I think the suggestion by wildswan16 is a really helpful one.

Riverwalk
Mine didn't ring once never mind twice but with him having now moved to Beaconsfield, we have a young woman who is just as helpful, although she draws the line at painting my toenails. ?

GabriellaG54 Thu 19-Mar-20 17:10:58

Once I make up my mind I don't change it, which can, in some circumstances be a flaw grannyactivist
I'm not for turning or temptation.

Riverwalk Thu 19-Mar-20 17:13:13

Oh, what a pity he moved on - still the ladies of Beaconsfield are in for a treat!

People won't be inclined to accept perishable goods like that in this climate. I wouldn't be.
Unless they were purchased by themselves off the shelves.
