I can’t say I’ve gone mad with cleaning or tidying, though I did give the kitchen a good blitz yesterday.
Among more mundane things (reading, knitting, trying without much success to ‘polish’ a couple of pieces on the piano), the other day I squished the seeds out of the last but one squishy cherry tomato. Seeds are now drying out in a little dish on the windowsill. I have unearthed some ancient mini peat pots, and found half a bag of compost from last year.
So I’m going to plant the seeds in a plastic ricotta pot (retrieved from the recycling) and, assuming a few will oblige me by germinating, will transfer to mini peat pots, before planting out in a mega pot outside.
Haven’t grown tomatoes for ages, we’ve usually been away in the summer too much to give them enough attention
Lurking on the gardening shelves outside I also found most of a big bottle of Tomato Food, previously used for flowering plants - my mother used to swear by it.
So you never know! Will be very satisfying if it works.
