Good Morning Everyone,
Yet another bright and sunny start this morning , again a changing day .
I went ti try and pay off a credit card yesterday , experience the towns only bank considering the size of Brackley closed.
But the local Post Office is doing the Banks stuff as well.
So once I have had my breakfast will make a walk towards to the post office and hopefully avoid a Que
Other wise a day of staying in .
Mick.

Good morning all. Overcast today and not so warm inEKent. Nothing much on again, hope to go on normal morning walk for the paper. Got to call friend in locked nursing home instead of visiting. Struggling to make exciting meals as something to look forwards to.
Stay well, stay in and stay cheerful.

Txquiltz Sat 28-Mar-20 06:23:32

I am excited! First delivery of groceries arrives today albeit without any paper products. A bit like a visit from the Easter bunny since they are bringing eggs.

Yesterday was a bit of a downer, but I intend to try to be more positive today.

Good morning all from Hertfordshire. A little chilly at the moment.

Good Morning everyone from Severnside. The sun is a big red ball.

Belated birthday wishes Purplepixie and thank you all for my wishes yesterday. It would have been DH birthday and DD and I try to spend it together but had to do with FaceTime this year.

My green waste bin is empty so I’ll make a start to refill it.

I hope you all have the safest day possible and am sending extra special wishes to Marydoll and all her family for what should have been a very different day ??

Good morning from east London, looking promising with a bit of a chill. Not yet feeling the effects of yesterday’s gardening; well I thought I was putting effort into breaking up the soil in the borders and I mowed the grass. Had ‘contact’ with DD and family yesterday as we took GD1 home from her dad’s. DD had had a call from the school as GD1 hadn’t logged in during the week; turns out she’d been doing the written stuff she’d been given and her dad didn’t realise she had to log in. More gardening today; and I still haven’t finished my book club book. Have a good day.

Morning Mick, morning All from a bright and chilly corner of Somerset. Quick and careful trip out this morning to fill a gap in the fresh food then a gentle day ahead. Enough gardening for now and we’ve agreed a painting cease fire for the weekend. Hope Saturday is gentle with us all. Special thoughts for marydoll and her family. Take care everyone.

Good morning everyone from a grey Northampton. Must be chilly as the heating has just clicked on. Lying in bed listening to radio 5 and waiting for the travel expert phone in. Not ringing in myself, but wondering whether I should pay the balance for my July cruise, cancel it and lose my deposit, or ask the company if I can transfer the booking to next year.

A good afternoon's gardening yesterday, like Mythbirthdragon forking over the soil in the borders.

Expecting DS and partner to pick up my desk and chair sometime today as she is now working from home and desperately needs a desk. I have got them outside the house already so they won't need to come in. Once they have been I will cut the front grass.

Take care everyone and let's try and have the best day we can.

Good morning. Chilly and blue skies in Gower. Groundhog Day. But almost the end of week 2 of 12. Movie night tonight. Small things to look forward to.

Nannytopsy Sat 28-Mar-20 06:47:32

Good Morning Mick and all his followers. It sounds as if you are feeling better Mick?
We had a day off from the garden yesterday to fill the car ( pay at the pump only!) then deliver birthday presents over the fence to our 4 year old granddaughter and collect a few items from their shopping delivery. Today it is back to shifting sleepers and I hope to start planting.
Have as good a day as possible everybody.

Morning all from a misty North Leicestershire.

I went to the farm shop yesterday in an attempt to buy some gf bread. We queued round the farm yard in the sunshine (2 metres apart) wat hung guinea fowl and chickens, listening to sheep and pigs and chatting - a lovely break. Didnt get bread though I did get some nice soup.

I too am thinking of marydoll and her daughter on what should have been such a joy filled day. And, gilly as always. A bitter sweet day for you beechnut.

kittylester Sat 28-Mar-20 06:51:49

I forgot to say that dgd3 us 7 today. I hope her presents arrived and that we can video call her later.

Good morning everyone from a cloudy but dry Inverness - I don’t think the sun is due to show up today but it was beautiful and sunny yesterday.
Just trying to make the most and enjoy the simple things in life right now like a local walk or sitting in the garden listening to the birds. The pace of life has definitely slowed which for me I think is a good thing !
Thinking especially of Marydoll and her daughter today ?
Take care everyone and stay safe

Good morning from a very chilly Scotland. It is raining already which is a pity as I hoped to have my coffee outside well wrapped up but don’t want to get wet. I got up at 5 to try for a delivery slot and hey presto one appeared before my eyes for in a couple of weeks. I have stayed up late, too late several times and thought I would try something different. Have had a tidy up, pressed the buttons on the machines and come back to bed with my milky coffee. Thinking about marydoll and her family today. It will be very wistful (understatement) , just can’t find the right word. I shall say a little prayer for you all if I may. michael Please be careful when you are out and about. It must be so frustrating to have no live sport when you are such a follower. I dread there being no teen is season. I look forward to (young men dashing about the court) the season so much. Maybe they’ll put on replays of Borg/McEnroe/Connors in colour?
beechnut. I am glad you got through the significant day but I know you must think of your DH every day.
Well I’m not going to push myself just have a reading day but I have resolved to phone someone on my Christmas card list every day as a surprise and for a little chat.
Hope you all have the best day you can in spite of everything.

Good morning Mick and everyone. It's a bright morning in Cheshire but there are some high clouds coming from the north. It's been sunny and warm all week so I got a lot of Vit D and the garden is transformed, but big gaps where I normally have bedding plants for colour. Not important.

I only see my DD and DGS four times a year so I'm kind of used to not seeing them, but no Easter visit and now this is beginning to feel like a long time even for me. We talk all the time, but it's just not the same is it? No hugs, no kisses. Oh dear. sad

My neighbours are keeping me focused and fed. We walk strung out along the paths in the wood calling out to each other catching up on the news. A young neighbour is topping up my food regularly and has ordered extra milk for me with her milkman. I'm so lucky.

Thinking of Marydoll and family today. flowers Gillybob you are amazing. Truly amazing. flowers

Stay safe and well everyone.

Good morning everyone from sunny West Yorkshire.
I have just opened the windows to give the house an airing. Wow, the air quality has certainly improved!
Big cat is up and about. Eaten a good breakfast and now attending to her ablutions. Quite a job for an all white cat and there is rather a lot of her.
It’s a bugger, Marydoll it really is.
You seem better Mick
The shrub I ordered to plant over little cat was due yesterday. No show so far. Never mind, it’s not the end of the world.
Strange times indeed.
My local pub is delivering beer. Yay ! It’s a food, right ? ?
I have a sore throat and runny, sneezy nose. Hay fever ? best close the windows.
Take the best care everyone ??

Good morning from a very chilly Cheshire. Did my weekly shop yesterday, got everything I wanted and am happy that fridge and freezer have been replenished. As it is weekend and himself doesn't have to work (from home of course!) and no sport on the telly, am hoping I can 'interest' him in getting some jobs done around the house. Decided yesterday to cancel our family holiday to Portugal; the balance is due in a couple of days - we were due to go 1st week in June; we don't see that things will be back to normal by then, so have cancelled. All we have lost is the deposit, so, thankful for that. Will wait and see how things go and maybe book something much later in the year and maybe stay in the UK.

Thinking of you Marydoll and your daughter today, hope it isn't too sad. We were due to attend a wedding at then end of April; it too has been postponed, they have decided to get married next year instead. Well, at least I can stop panicking, I still hadn't found an outfit! I will keep looking though, I won't leave until next year, it may take me that long to get fixed up?

Hope you all have a good weekend and stay safe.

Good morning everyone from a bright and sunny Essex by the sea. It looks very blowy outside and I believe it's going to get a lot colder in the coming days.
My eldest brother is stuck at home for 12 weeks as he has severe COPD. He lives a long way from me and told me he only has 2 books left to read. He has no internet just a phone.
I packed up 6 books from our very full book shelves and DH took them along to the Post Office for me yesterday afternoon . I hope they arrive in one piece. My brother is the 'black sheep' in the family and I am the only one he has contact with. I feel a responsibility for him and am very worried about him.
We have no real plans today except a walk along by the sea. I do hope all the idiots who were out in force last weekend stay at home today.
Thoughts with Marydoll, her daughter and family today.
Have the best day you can and stay safe everyone xx

Calpurnia Sat 28-Mar-20 07:21:12

Good morning All - thank you for your kind thoughts yesterday - they did mean a lot. What a lovely refuge this thread is - where we can all share joys, sorrow and worries.

One plus from my walk yesterday. I grabbed three large handfuls (foraging?) of the wild garlic I admire on my route and with a large glut or three of olive oil and some pan fried pine nuts made a bowl of emerald green pesto. The colour is quite amazing and even if I say so myself it tastes delicious. It will brighten up some pasta - I even had some with cheese and biscuits.

I hope everyone has a nice and where planned a productive day today.

Sending a special THANK YOU to everyone now working so hard to keep us all well, fed and cared for.

Morning All

It looks as if our lovely sunny weather has come to an end, it’s rather grey here in the north of Norfolk this morning.

We have to go out and finish the repositioning of our front gates this morning. Managed most of it yesterday, but everything that could go wrong, did. Including one of the support post twisting sideways to land on my head! There were sudden random strong gusts of wind coming through (probably a sign of the change in the weather) and catching us unawares. One of the gates managed to fall too and the top broke so that has to be fixed. Then we’re done! Best Beloved is very frustrated at his lack of strength, a symptom I believe of his diabetes 2.

Last evening I stood in the garden watching the space station zoom over while listening (couldn’t get a word in) on the phone to six year old DGS as he watched it too in his back garden. Isn’t modern technology wonderful?!

flowers for the Marydoll family.

Gilly - I just heard that dog rescue homes are experiencing an upturn in adoptions. They have vacancies! Now is the time for your DD to re-home her mutt to a home where he’d be happier! flowers

Good Morning from a bright Oxfordshire
Still in bed drinking tea but will be in the queue in Sainsburys soon I expect.
Thinking of Marydoll and family today.
Take care and stay safe everyone

Thank you Calpurnia for reminding me that we’ve been nurturing some wild garlic in a pot and that it’s ready! Bought pesto is a no-no for me as I have a garlic intolerance - but I can eat ransom leaves. And I now have the time to make pesto!
