Morning all, I haven’t much time my batteries are about to run out. It’s not often I have some reasonably good news. I phone my son each evening and he tells me that my DiL is having much better days. We think it’s because some of the treatment has stopped.she probably had side affects for so long she’d got used to living with them and now is side affect free. She still taking steroids and anti convulsions medication those can’t be stopped. Knowing that things are a little better is good news. Thank you, thank you for all your support.

Pittcity Sun 29-Mar-20 09:31:24

Thank you for the prosecco Galen.
The government have said that the 20 units a week limit has been lifted, which is good because I'm already up to the second week in July wink

annsixty Sun 29-Mar-20 10:18:58

Pittcity so am I.?
Better news from you morethan it will help you all cope slightly more positively.

My GS is 21 today, no celebrations of course, just him, his mum and his sister.
I am not used to seeing him on his birthdays but I feel slightly for him.

Have as good a day as you can everyone, it is good to see that McS’s architectural skills are being utilised to expand the kitchen walls as and when needed as our kitchen community is growing by the day.

Carillion01 Sun 29-Mar-20 10:34:09

Dear morethan ???

Smileless2012 Sun 29-Mar-20 10:38:16

Morning everyone. I hope your son is feeling more settled this morning GrannyGravy it's an anxious time for us all and must be stressful having children at home all the time and finding ways to keep them entertained.

I'm sure just being able to speak to his mum will have helped to reassure him.

That is good news morethanflowers.

Pittcitygrinthat will help me feel a little less guiltyblush.

'Happy Birthday' to your DS annsixty hopefully when this is all over you'll be able to have a proper 21st celebration.

NanaandGrampy Sun 29-Mar-20 10:39:45

Morning all!

Just sat admiring the view when it started snowing !! It was just a brief ten minute flurry but most unwelcome !

How nice to be able to share some good news Morethan; I hope they can enjoy these better days together x

Ah you made me laugh Pittcity ! One of my SiLs posted me a comment yesterday , it said ‘ I’ve put a drink in every room and I’m going on a pub crawl room to room ! ‘ ??

Lovely to see a brand new kitchen , a fabulous buffet spread and an uplifting poem to start the day - thanks Soop .

I’m not sure what exciting stuff is going on here today but Grampy has decided we can have a do-over Mother’s Day and he made breakfast and is cooking the roast beef ! ( And I'm going to let him),

I am sad to report I cracked last night and opened one of the Easter Eggs !! Luckily I’ve got loads more so maybe no one will notice when we have Easter in the summer lol

Happy day all!

Susan56 Sun 29-Mar-20 11:08:45

Thought I would share this photo with you.Our grandson was 6 months old yesterday. As his Christening has been postponed due to the virus,DD dressed him in the outfit she had bought for him to wear after his Christening as it won’t fit him much longer and they had a half birthday party complete with cake!Cheered me up,hope it brings a smile to you too.

Bellanonna Sun 29-Mar-20 11:09:54

Pittcity! Cheers. N&G, I really can’t blame you. A little of what you fancy....
Thanks for all the goodies on here. As someone said, it’s like a banquet. Keep safe everyone.

Bellanonna Sun 29-Mar-20 11:10:50

Ah, gorgeous picture Susan.

Purplepixie Sun 29-Mar-20 12:13:34

Hi all,I’ve just popped in as I am still making patchwork cushion covers and keeping busy.

I’ve just made some banana loaf and walnut shortbread, so please all help yourselves. I love the new kitchen, its so warm and friendly.

Beautiful photo Susan.

Love and hugs to everyone and please stay safe.

I’ll pop by later with some Rhubarb gin and tonics for all who want them. Xx

NanaandGrampy Sun 29-Mar-20 12:41:00

aww lovely picture susan I remember we had a half birthday for Jackson which was loads of fun.

We had a quite different visitor this morning in one of the sunny spells .

soop Sun 29-Mar-20 14:03:02

Thank you, Galen I trust that you are wearing your pearls. When drinking bubbly, one should make the effort!

Good afternoon lovely lot. Sun is shining. The breeze has an edge to it. We are doing as we're told and keeping out of mischief. wink

mbmb Oh my word, please let the engineers keep us all connected via the internet and such. I would be a miserable blob if I lost touch with you all for any length of time.

callgirl1 Stupid man! Serves him right.

CherryCezzy Sun 29-Mar-20 14:18:01

I'm jinxed today - twice I've written my post and twice at exactly the same place (about 3 words from the end) it has disappeared!! This appears to be okay so far but I think something weird is happening with my tablet today, overuse this week confused perhaps?? Think I'll just plug it in and leave it there today.
TOYA ❤️

Charleygirl5 Sun 29-Mar-20 14:23:33

N&G that is one visitor you may keep!

I hope Sam is feeling better

Susan what a beautiful picture- the young man is so engrossed looking at the candles being blown out.

morethasn heart-rending as the whole sorry business is, that definitely is better news for once.

Once more Tara is seeking a new home, food will be sent with her. The minx woke me at 5am new time today, was not content until I was wide awake, she then went to sleep lying on the chair whereas I laid awake for a couple of hours but I eventually fell asleep and crawled outof bed at 10 am. She was the loser because I normally get up after 7 am.

soop Sun 29-Mar-20 14:24:16

Purplepixie I'm not moving far. I've a crystal tumbler at the ready for a generous taster of your Rhubarb G&T's , together with my best china plate on which to heap samples of all the wondrous food that you lot have so kindly donated. smile

N&G What a dear wee creature. MacS has just this morning re-located one that visited the humane trap. It is now living in the hedgerow close to the beach.

Susan56 Your photo has cheered many of us. What a wonderful idea to have a special celebration at this stage in baby's life. A precious memory.

morethan Yet another reason for us lot to smile. We shall all hang on in there and do our best for each other. flowers

Youngest son (almost 45) is working from home. He is also the adventurous kind who normally takes part in anything that pushes his inner and outer strength to the limits. He has created The Coronavirus Indoor Mountaineering League and has a healthy following on Facebook. On April 4th, he intends to climb Ben Nevis...this he will do by climbing up and down his 7,532 stairs 538 times each way. It will be recorded and verified via internet connection. He's raising funds for Medecins San Frontieres (Doctors Without Borders). The link was established just yesterday and donations are already in the hundreds of pounds. I do believe that I'm proud of him. wink

eilyann Sun 29-Mar-20 15:20:19

morethan Keeping up the prayers! Thanks for letting us knowflowers

mbmb Sun 29-Mar-20 15:55:27

soop the telecomms people seem quite prepared to deal with the extra demand as so many people are working from home. Netflix has dropped its bandwith (I think that's the thing they've done) so its streaming service makes less demands. If you're used to watching Netflix in HD you might notice a difference, but otherwise not.

soop Sun 29-Mar-20 17:11:44

mbmb We have the basic tele-thingy. Same with my phone. It does the bare minimum and I'm glad of it. grin

It has been a fabulously sunny day. I shall have the camera at hand in the hope of a colourful sunset. Should I capture one, I shall share with you all in the morning.

Twenty five minute bike ride to the 'Simply Red' 'STARS' CD. Music does help to divert my mind from the effort .

Thinking of you all. Back again tomorrow. Take good care of yourselves. smile moon

Smileless2012 Sun 29-Mar-20 19:57:36

That's a good idea N&G I think I might have a go at the 'pub crawl'.

What a lovely photosmile, how sweet. Is it a field mouse?

Oooh Rhubarb G & T; a girl after my own heart Purplepixie

What lovely GC you have Susan and your GS's Christening is something for the family to look forward too.

I've had a word with Dylan Charleygirl and he's quite happy
for Tara to come for a trial period but he's not sure if he can cope with a 5.00am start in the morning no matter how beautiful she is.

You've every reason to be proud of your son soopsmile You are lucky, it's been truly awful here like the middle of winter!!

Going to settle down now in front of the TV. Another day of isolation down and who knows how may more to follow.

TOYA

cornergran Sun 29-Mar-20 20:39:09

Sorry n&g, that’s one visitor I would wish visited elsewhere, cute though he/she may be.

A happy half birthday to your grandson for yesterday susan, a joyful image, thank you for sharing it.

A gentle hug morethan, your news was very welcome.

Your son is very determined as well as inventive soop, look forward to hearing he’s achieved his goal.

A quiet day here, we aimed for a ‘normal’ Sunday without jobs. Had a cold and windy walk this morning followed by hot chocolate before settling in the conservatory. The sun came out so there we sat reading for several hours. For a while we could relax and forget the pressure this world of ours is under.

TOYA. Be careful out there.

kittylester Sun 29-Mar-20 20:46:16

The kitchen seems a fairly calm place today. I've had a bit of a wobble- cant believe that my family will escape un touched by the pesky virus! And, I want them all here and locked in. Obviously, I'd get really fed up, really quickly if that actually happened. grin
