My daughter has just dropped off - at a safe distance- a box of lovely fresh veg from a local firm. I’m really impressed. In it are
1 avocado
4 bananas
1 swede
1 pineapple
2 brown onions
1 red onion
1 orange
2 satsumas
1 red and 1 green pepper
1 red and 1 green apple
1 huge lemon
2limes
1 white cabbage
1 cauliflower
1 leek
1x 500g broccoli
3 salad tomatoes
2 parsnips
1 punnet of strawberries
1 punnet of raspberries
1punnet of red grapes
1 pear and another apple
3 plums
6 medium potatoes
1 lettuce
1 cucumber
The freshness and quality are very good and I am thrilled to have received this box of healthy food. It cost £20 and I’m happy with that.

The Ocado delivery man- He was so chirpy, so correct in the way he delivered out goods.

My fishman has just delivered two boxes of fish to the 'Deliveries' box outside the front door. Salmon for supper tonight.

So far.....
FaceTime with DGS (17) who called to tell me he had passed his latest drumming exam with a merit
FaceTime with DGS (4) who showed me some of the crafts he and his mummy have been doing and the haircut she gave him.
The cheerful shop assistants on my weekly shop.

A phone call last night from the manager of one of the supermarkets I use for large events(Carrefour).
Asking me to call him with my shopping list and he will have everything ready for me when I arrive.
He knows I like a walk (keeps my artificial knees going) and it will be nice not to queue.
I had been in the shop in the morning and had a chat at a distance.
Good to know they are thinking about their clients.

The sunshine, it dried my washing, so fresh sheets on the bed tonight. Bliss! Added to that, our Hello Fresh food box was delivered only a day later than promised. Joy all round!

It will be Joy unconfined if/when my supermarket delivery arrives midweek. It was the only slot I could get, and there are no further slots for now.

Feeling safe at home, no need to venture out just yet. And the sun's still sunshine.

WhatsApp call from DS in NZ, followed by phone call from DD and DGD in their new home in the Highlands. We couldn't see in or see them because they don't yet have WiFi , but I could sense some happiness amid the chaos, it quite relieved my toothache.

When this bloody corona war is over..... Oh how happy we shall be.
(apologies to Oh What a Lovely War)

2 emails and a phone-call from friends wishing me well. It was magic and lovely to hear from them. Quite unexpected.

Watching the antics of three pheasants I my garden has made me smile more than once today.
Our regular cock pheasant visitor was joined by another handsome fellow. He was chased across the garden, and they both flew off over the wall.
An hour or so later, regular visitor was back, this time hotly perusing his lady love. She was looking for her lunch and was having none of it.
Poor chap, hes not having a good day.

I just wanted to share this with all of you on here.
One of our neighbours, with help from her two young girls, used their front window as an art project, this morning.
They have painted/ chalked, directly onto the glass.
It is beautiful.

The call from my son and his girlfriend telling me the 12 week scan went well. This was the result of the second IVF attempt and they had resigned themselves to never having children. Really made me cry with joy for them and I don't cry often!

I am generally a very happy person but lately it has been hard to find any happiness. Then my DD sends me a video of my DGS and all is back to normal ❤️

My walk today , accompanied by a robin who flew from tree to tree part of the way, singing his heart out with the joys of spring , it was lovely.

A friend has emailed me into a Poetry Swap. You are given an email address to which you send a favourite poem. Then you ask a number of friends to do likewise.
I sent a Stevie Smith poem to a woman I don’t know and received a lovely thank you from her.

I was phoned today by a school friend whom I haven’t spoken to since about 1992. We do exchange Christmas and birthday cards, but it was a lovely surprise to be phoned. ??

No Covid-19 symptoms affecting us. And all the family are symptom free too.

I hope to sleep well tonight.

TerriBull Fri 03-Apr-20 16:57:22

Seeing my babies getting bigger by the day, they never stop munching on the green stuff!

Fennel Fri 03-Apr-20 17:01:27

Thank God for that Urmston - same here.
And husband went to our huge Tesco this morning - well stocked up. He bought a whole salmon (head and tail included).
Which I've now cut up , sans head and tail, into 5 pieces and now in plastic bags in our freezer.
Much smelly hands and mess.

DD2 sent me her 42 page Annual Report for her funders for proofreading. Only a few minor things for correction, but lovely to feel useful for once.
