Good Morning Everyone,
Its a nice dry start to the day here in Brackley .
Plans today, do a small shop , changing routine from my usual Friday shop, come back and lockdown in my flat.
Maybe play a CD or two, watch TV .
Computer wise I have downloaded and saved some steaming of Virtual Cycling events.
Virtual seems to be a word which some sports can adapt , a form of simulating .
Mick

Morning Mick
Dry here in Oxfordshire as well, not quite light enough to see what kind of day we will have, but I expect it will be another quiet one!
DD 2 is coming over to cut some bamboo canes for her garden it will be nice to watch her from a distance, she left 2 Easter eggs on the doorstep yesterday, so something to look forward too.
Another day gardening , hopefully it won’t get too hot.
Enjoy your day Mick, do the ‘cyclists’ have accidents in virtual cycling I wonder?
Stay safe everyone.

Goodmorning Mick and all x

Another warm sunny day is forecast here in S E Essex, so today will be spent in the garden more sitting than gardening though!

Keep safe and well folks ??

Good morning Mick and everyone. After a glorious day in Cheshire yesterday we had a rather fierce rainstorm last night. The moon is clearly visible now and does look pinkish this morning. The blackbird was so loud again as dawn broke it made me laugh.

I went back to childhood yesterday and made a meat and potato pie like mother used to make and froze half. It was the warmest it's been yesterday, so I was in the garden a lot and paying the price a little this morning, but it's only a few minor aches.

I'll have a long chat with my DD sometime today. TV very lacklustre or is it me? Painting, pottering and reading today.

Stay positive and safe! flowers for all.

Good Morning all from East Staffordshire, it is going to be a beautiful day today. I will go for a walk with the pooch later.
I had a video call with my family last night (except for DDiL as she was working) I did a quiz and we had a real laugh. DS won as usual!
Mick you may be interested in watching the live performance of Jesus Christ Superstar on YouTube. Andrew Lloyd Webber is streaming shows each Friday for 48hrs only. The page is called ‘The Show Must Go On.’ I watched it last night and it was amazing.
I am off to get my shorts out for the first time this year. Once they come out they are never going back!
Have a lovely day and stay safe everyone❤️

Good morning from east London, sky starting to blue up although still cool outside. I started to put my ‘winter’ clothes away yesterday until I caught a weather forecast saying temperatures are going down again. Virtual choir workshop this morning; I’m struggling with the Chinese words of our main song. Learning by rote may be the answer and I’ll get the keyboard out to help with the tune. Spoke to DD yesterday; GD1 has gone back to her dad’s for a few days and she is missing her dreadfully. GD2 isn’t quite ready for building obstacle courses in the garden and indoor tents. Have a good day.

Good morning from Cheshire, it rained last night, but the forecast is good for today. Himself cut the hedges yesterday, and is supposed to be jet washing the patio today, so hopefully all will be spick and span by this afternoon, as we intend to have a BBQ (just the two of us of course!).
As it was Good Friday yesterday and me being a Catholic, I intended to not eat meat. Except I forgot. Had pate and crackers for lunch! But redeemed myself by having fish for dinner. I wouldn't mind, I am a lapsed Catholic and haven't been to church since I was 13, so don't know why it matters so much. Suppose some things never leave you. The nuns I was taught by certainly had a way with them, I have an A level in guilt!
Hope everyone has a good day and the sun shines for us all.

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. A sunny day in prospect.
A concert would be lovely to see or hear.
Our turn to write the family quiz. I complain it's too hard when the others set it.
I walked through my jungley garden with sheers yesterday and met at least 4 bumble bees.
Have a good day, whatever its challenges.

Good morning Mick and all his followers.
Blue skies in Suffolk but garden is on hold while we wait for weedkiller to do its stuff on the bramble patch. We want to put vegetables and fruit up there. The only Gardener's World job I can do from last night is sow annual seeds. Night scented stocks here I come!
I hope everyone is coping in their isolation

Morning All

Another beautiful morning in the north of Norfolk.

DH has retired back to bed and I may follow shortly. I woke just after two feeling wide awake so thought I would come downstairs and see if Tesco had any Priority Slots left. Zilch! Too late! Of course that woke Himself and neither of us could get back to sleep. He got up to read, but I determinedly stayed in bed. I woke again just after five. You’d have thought that having decanted a large compost heap around the garden yesterday we’d both have been tired enough to sleep, but seems not.

So - a relaxing day today!

Good morning from sunny Colchester. Going to be sunning ourselves in the garden today. We put the gazebo up yesterday as we needed shade....
Weather forecast to change for the worse tomorrow.

aggie Sat 11-Apr-20 07:24:09

Good Morning all, bit dull out there , looks like we had rain in the night .
Family quiz last night via Zoom , it was a good laugh , but I came last , partly due to not getting it to work till they were on Question 12 .... well that’s my story and I am sticking to it !

Urmstongran Sat 11-Apr-20 07:26:44

Good morning everyone from Malaga where it’s a misty start but the sun is up. Like everywhere, it’s so still and quiet isn’t it? I can smell the pine trees. I can hear the wood pigeons quite clearly.

Himself is making us a cuppa before he sets off over the road to get our groceries (woohoo!) and he has been given a small list from our very anxious 84y old neighbour who lives along our landing. She said yesterday how very relieved she is that we didn’t fly home on 1st April as she would not only have been totally alone but she would have had to brave the supermarket for supplies, bless. It would certainly have been a trial for her.

I agree Ginny42 about the tv programmes. We’ve not watched anything apart from Sky News updates since the lockdown. It’s Day 28 today.

I listened to an audiobook yesterday afternoon and it was very relaxing, being read to whilst I shut my eyes on my sun lounger. More today!

Hope Saturday is good to us all. Keep safe everyone that’s what matters. x

Morning all from a lovely North Leicestershire.

We also had very disturbed nights too and I feel like a piece of chewed string.

Theoretically, my plan is to clean the garden furniture. I did say theoretically.

Stay safe everyone!

Good morning everyone from a cloudy Northampton, but it is set to be fine later. Spent most of yesterday sitting in the garden in tee shirt and shorts reading. Some of the shrubs looked a bit dry, so watered them in the evening.
Will probably be doing the same again today; no other plans, apart from tackling the crossword and puzzle pages.
DDil and the two DGDs popped round yesterday to pick up their Easter Eggs, and also a tent that DH and I bought them sometime ago. They brought me a lovely home made Easter card and a box of Prosecco truffles, which I shall enloy! We had a chat through the front door glass.
Hope everyone has a good day.

Good morning from a sunny Hampshire. Keeping busy today, not sure how get but it will come to me.

Gingster Sat 11-Apr-20 07:51:24

Good morning. Another gorgeous day here on the Suffolk coast. We’ve always got a bit of chill air here but we dress accordingly and are in the garden most of the day. DH has gone on his paper round for us and neighbours and a bit of shopping for elderly SIL. We must sow our seeds today. We prepared the plot 3 days ago and still haven’t got round to putting the seeds in the ground. Like you Curlywhirly , my DH is a lapsed Catholic so had to have fish yesterday. We bought some Bass from the local fisherman and it was delicious. I agree about tv progs. Not very inspiring! The only decent films they put on are late in the evening. I would have watched The Theory of Everything - a fantastic film, but it started at 10.30. Enjoy the sunshine today. ?

Good morning to all from East London . Another sunny day but not set to last apparently , I’m sure the government and scientists will breathe a sigh of relief . I’m taking a walk to my DS and family, this morning about 20 minutes away but through a park so will set off early before the crowds . I’m dropping off some Easter eggs for a hunt tomorrow . It’s usually at my house with their cousins ... ?. Hope to have a zoom chat with them all at some time during the day . Never had Easter alone before missing DH very much over the last few days .

Pantglas2 Sat 11-Apr-20 07:51:47

A cheery good morning from a dry and cloudy north Wales where I didn’t get to sleep until 2am as I was too hot so may be time for the summer duvet.

Will probably have a siesta this afternoon in the sleeping room conservatory otherwise I’ll feel like that ‘piece of chewed up string’ kittylester!

I know we’re not allowed to have visitors at the moment but........we have new tenants in the bird boxes! Lovely sitting in the summer house watching them swoop in and out!

Have a lovely day with only little wobbles......x

brook2704 Sat 11-Apr-20 07:58:43

Good morning everyone from a bright dry Inverness. We had lovely weather yesterday, nothing like the warmth and sunshine elsewhere but a lovely day for Inverness nevertheless !

We were mainly pottering in the garden as usual and I enjoyed a couple of online dance / exercise classes. More of the same today !

I received a lovely handmade Easter Card from DGS1 and DGD - really cheered me up that they took the time to make it themselves - it’s sitting in pride of place now on the mantelpiece ?

Hope everyone finds something to enjoy today , take care ?

Good Morning everyone from sunny Severnside.

How many lockdown days have you now Urm?

I’ve not had a very good nights sleep which is unusual for me. Maybe it was because I wanted to be at the store for shopping close to opening time. There was a queue when I got there. People probably had the same idea as me. I think it’s all organised well for us.

Another pottering and garden day for me I think. It’s my brother’s birthday. I made him a card but didn’t post it. I told him I’d send it next year and send him a photo of it this year.

I think I’ll change to summer duvet soon Pantglas2. How is your husband getting on with his new hip?

Have a lovely safe day all ?

Good morning everyone from a wet Glsgow. I'm sort of glad, as hopefully it will keep everyone at home, instead of trying to get to the beauty spots.
Our local council were reluctant to close the car parks at the parks, but have now being forced to do it, due to the amount of visitors.
Why do people not need the warnings?

I have a turkey to cook, so that DD can take some away with her when she drops the shopping off in the morning.
She has asked for it to be stuffed. I will have to root around my herb garden for some parsley, if there even is any.? No pressure!
I'm still running a restaurant, despite all the restrictions, is that flaunting the rules??. DD never leaves here empty handed!

I'm also planning to make hot cross buns and leave rising overnight for breakfast, so enough to keep me busy.

It seems strange not getting the church ready for the Easter services. Normally, I would be there this morning interfering helping the sacristan, who is nearly 80 and still going strong.
Gingster, I loved the sound of the fresh bass. Our fishmonger has closed down, and as a fish lover, it's been such a disappointment.
We had seafood risotto, which turned out really well.
We are having a family quiz tomorrow and it's our turn, to write the fiendish quiz. Its payback time. ?

Enjoy your day everyone. * Susan*, I hope the wee one is improving.

Morning Mick, morning All. Looking good outside, more sunshine in our corner of Somerset. Once Rumplestiltskin has stirred (Mr C is capable of sleeping for 14 hours a day) hope for an early-ish walk while it’s still quiet. A few light garden jobs before more sitting in the sun reading. I’m saving indoor jobs for tomorrow as we’re due a cloudy day. Be gentle with yourselves everyone, please just be careful out there.

Kalu Sat 11-Apr-20 08:18:54

Good morning from a wet start in Glasgow. Knowing our unpredictable weather, it could change completely in a couple of hours??

Just couldn’t get to sleep last night and still awake at 3.30am. A lazy day ahead then as I will surely fall asleep at some point during the day continuing to mess up my sleep pattern again. Oh well, whatever, seems to be a word I am using more and more these days.

I dread to think what our garden will look like in summer as there is so much to do that pottering isn’t nearly enough to cover the work that needs done.

Have the best day you can everyone.

EllanVannin Sat 11-Apr-20 08:21:34

Good Morning All x
Very still and quiet so far but doesn't look very promising weatherwise. Thunder and heavy rain last night but it hasn't cleared the air, not that it matters as I won't be going anywhere. No sun sad

Haven't yet seen any news, I'm rationing it !
The bins haven't been emptied yet but there's still time. I'll shout my thankyou's from the kitchen window if/when they do arrive.

Enjoyed my usual fish dinner yesterday as I did creamed potatoes instead of chips, parsley sauce and peas---it was so heaped it had snow on the top grin lovely grub.
Not sure what todays menu is yet.

Just reading about repatriation flights from India back here. Yes, they've got to come back home at some point, but------it seems to defeat the whole object of the rest of us having to remain/stay put where we are with as little movement as possible. 12 flights are being put on next week. Will they all be checked ?

Just about ready for my crumpets now so enjoy your day as best you can and stay safe and well.xx
