Good Morning Everyone,
Its grey and wet here in Brackley this morning, when I went to bed last night , it must have started then.
Typical Bank Holiday weather , anyway today try to do some shredding ,and other things .
Its finding a daily routine , with the lockdown, so certain things apply to certain days as a routine and day memory .

Good Morning everyone from Severnside where we have grey clouds and wind.

As you say Mick it’s finding a new routine for now. I’m going to spend most of today indoors doing a few jobs.

I had a nice chat with my newish neighbours yesterday. They were doing some hard work in their garden.

Best wishes to you all and stay safe ?

Good morning Mick and everyone. Thank you so much Mick for being up and sending greetings to get us started each day, whatever it may bring. It's been raining in the night here in Cheshire too. I never thought I'd say this, but the garden needed it!

Had an amusing message from the hairdresser yesterday to say Happy Easter and hoped they'd see me again in the not to distant future and to please leave the cutting and the colour to them! I've been going to them for about 20 years so they know me well! I have been tempted to get the scissors out.

I will walk in the woods and later plan to do my daily Zumba gold session on Zoom with my usual instructor. I got a bit muddled yesterday so just jigged around the lounge instead.

Whatever the day brings, stay safe and positive. flowers for all.

Morning all from a dry and bright but blustery north Wales where I’ve been up to fetch the chamberpot (ha ha!) and done my yoga.

Not a lot planned for today - maybe a facial mask and a brow tint this am before another lovely afternoon in the garden. The devil may have sent the virus but God has definitely sent the good weather so that my lockdown is bearable.

Hope everyone has a good day and stays safe x

Good morning from a chilly, dull Cheshire, such a difference from last week. Quiet but busy day yesterday, helping himself to jet wash the flags; still not finished, what a job it is, no wonder it's 4 years since it's been done! What has been done is so bright and clean (very pale sandstone flags) I'm reluctant to walk on them ? We rewarded ourselves with an extra glass of wine with dinner and both promptly fell asleep for most of the evening!

Had a facetime call with DGC who had just had their Easter egg hunt. Daddy had just finished installing a new gate in their back garden to keep our little 2 year old grandson from wandering into a field next to their house, and he wasn't at all pleased; he just stood scowling at his dad, wouldn't speak to anyone and had a very grumpy face. Funny thing was he had a Mr Happy tee shirt on!

Hope you all had a good Easter. Take care.

Good morning from east London and what a change in the weather. We heard thunder rattling around on our walk yesterday but it’s looking grey outside now and wind is getting up. All the cars parked along the road are looking dusty as hardly any are moving so rain could be useful. Sorted out the car insurance yesterday (third mortgage); I think it has hit DP that his 3 speeding incidents in 5 years does have an impact. DD sent some lovely photos of her ‘Easter bunnies’ yesterday; I will pop round today even if I have to stand under a brolly at the end of her path. Have a good day.

Good Easter Monday Mick and all x

It is grey and breezy here in S E Essex.

Roast Pork and all the trimmings for dinner today, should have been yesterday's meal but we had a BBQ instead due to the sunny weather. ( also the 5 year old wants to cook with Grandpa)

Will bake banana bread and make apple sauce to go with lunch.

Keep safe and well folks x

Good morning from dull and very windy Kent.
We had a 10 minute shower about 4pm yesterday then bright sunshine again.
Thank you all for your kind messages for our anniversary yesterday. Today is DH birthday but that will pass quietly unfortunately. Hopefully he will get a video call from GC when DD finishes work.
I don't think there will be much sitting in gardens today. I hope you can a keep busy and look after yourselves.

Morning Mick and All.

A rather cool grey day here in South Bucks.

Had FaceTime with the boys yesterday. The previous evening our DS had organised with 7 families a Quiz night on Zoom. Each family set up 10 questions (cartoon characters for our family). We hear it was 2 hours of great fun. Isn’t modern technology great ?

Preparing ‘Nan’s Challenge’ quiz for the DGSs today. They have really enjoyed the last 3 weeks of challenges for pocket money. It’s keeping my grey cells going ! ?

Have a good Bank Holiday Monday folks.

Good Morning from a dull Fife, rather on the cool side too. Up early today believe it or not we did nothing yesterday apart from eat, felt very lazy for some reason but today is another day. Up and ready to start chores. Will get out for our walk in afternoon and will devote morning to cleaning kitchen and other chores. Hope your Easter is going as good as it can be. Take care.

Lins1066 Mon 13-Apr-20 07:22:49

Good Morning Mick and all. It is a brightish start here on the S Welsh coast but there is a strong wind blowing.
DS sent photos of the three year old's Easter Egg Hunt in the garden. He phoned last evening and we had a good chat. His father, sister and I took turns to speak to him.
We will take it easy today and relax with a few feel good factor films. Have as good a day as you can and stay safe.

Scentia Mon 13-Apr-20 07:36:16

Good Morning all from East Staffordshire. Looks like a lovely day again today.

I must ring my vet today to see if they can give me a prescription for my doggies’ eyes. They are red and she is blinking all the time like they are sore. She has lots of gunk in them too. Poor pooch.

I also need to do a shop today. I had basmati rice and baked beans for tea last night, I really need to restock?

I will go for a gentle mooch with the pooch once I have spoke to the vet, just in case she wants to see her and we can walk up there.
I spent most of yesterday in the garden and clearing out the shed, today I am slowing down a little.
I do hope that everyone can find a piece of sunshine and happiness today. Take care everyone and stay safe?

Well what a change in the weather. Yesterday we were walking along the beach in t shirts and today the wind is howling and blowing a hooley. The sea is wild and steely grey. Had a zoom session with the family yesterday. I can’t seem to get to grips with it. We’re either just looking at each other or talking over each other. Lovely to see everyone, though. Perhaps there are too many of us. My neighbour, who has been a bit off lately, left a lovely Easter egg on my dorrstep yesterday. I never know how she’s going to be, - has us round for evening meals, bakes cakes for birthdays and generally seems to want to be friendly. Lately she’s just said hello and walked past swiftly and especially since lockdown hasn’t contacted us at all. And now the Easter egg! I feel bad because I never thought to get her one. I always feel wrong-footed by her. Oh well. None so queer (as they say). Have a restful day !

Good morning everyone from a grey and very windy Essex by the sea. The wind woke us up more than once during the night.
Nothing planned for today, may go out for a walk, depends on whether it rains or not.
Leftovers for dinner, no cooking today , may even have a glass or two of wine, oh the excitement !!!
Have the best day you can and stay safe everyone xx

LullyDully Mon 13-Apr-20 07:53:58

Good morning from Hampshire and yes , dull and windy so far. We have done 3 weeks apparently though I have lost count. A welcome walk every day with people crossing the road or ducking down paths to avoid each other. However usually a greeting. Lots of little ones learning to ride a two wheeled bike.

Marydoll Mon 13-Apr-20 07:54:24

Good morning all from a cloudy and cool Glasgow, it's only 3 C.
I spent a very pleasant day yesterday, pottering in the garden and even managed a very early morning sortie down the lane behind our fence and over the field and back. It was so uplifting to be out in the refreshing air.
We never saw a single soul until I spied a girl I was at school with nearly sixty years ago and had to shout an apology for rushing away in the opposite direction.
She shouted: Oh, are you one of those, those ........?, I felt I should have had a big sign pinned to my chest, warning people. wink

DD and SIL arrived with a care package and potatoes to plant. I think they feel the need to keep me occupied. wink
I no problems on that score!
They stayed at the bottom of the garden while I sat inside at the kitchen door. It was great to see them.
DS faced timed while they were there, so that added to their pleasure when they got a chance to speak to DGD, although the wifi didn't quite reach where they were standing. What a palaver trying to pass the phone to each other and to keep our distance at the same time.

DD ended up going home with an ever bigger care package than she brought: a full turkey dinner, including gravy and stuffing , hot cross buns and Easter nests made to the Mars bar cake recipe.
My mother always had a saying: A gaun fit's aye gettin .., it literally means, that a vistor never leaves empty handed and my DD has a reputation for never leaving empty handed, much to her brothers amusement . smile

I went to leave some Easter, chocolate nests on my neighbours back step, as a thank for getting me milk etc, while she was out for a walk. Keeping my distance, you know!
I have never seen such a pristine back garden! The decking was the cleanest, I have ever seen. It was like something out of Homes and Gardens.
I was surprised to see all these beautiful plants in huge glazed pots, as she and her husband hate gardening.
It turned out the were all artificial, but you would never have known it!! I thought they looked fabulous, I now have garden envy!! envy

For all those who are struggling at this time and there are many on GN, the stress is palpable in some of the posts.
Susan, I hope wee Henry is improving. Gilly, I felt so awful reading your posts yesterday, but remember, they are scammers, they didn't deliberately choose you, it's a random thing.
These ? are for all with worries. Have the best day possible.

Grammaretto Mon 13-Apr-20 07:55:38

Good Easter Monday morning to all of you from the gloomy looking Scottish Borders.
We also had a video of the DGC setting out for their egg hunt. One looked like Bilbo Baggins with her rucksack. They found real eggs that their hens had laid as well as chocolate ones which the Easter Bunny hid

Our DC are looking after us in lockdown. I hope they keep it up when we are over this.
NanKate you are a very good DGP. I should be more helpful with ours. I could write a quiz for them.
Have a nice day everyone.

Good morning from a grey skied Colchester. The temperature has dropped significantly.
Woken thinking that there's nothing to do today. This is usually a joy but today it's a horror.

kittylester Mon 13-Apr-20 08:00:32

Good morning all from a bright but windy North Leicestershire. We had a fabulous storm yesterday afternoon - thunder, lightning, hailstones and a rainbow.

Not sure of our plans today - maybe more gardening.

Stay safe everyone!

brook2704 Mon 13-Apr-20 08:02:55

Good morning everyone from a cool but dry Inverness

Yesterday I spent a lazy afternoon reading as it started raining just after lunch. Hopefully I’ll get back out in the garden later today

I definitely need much more willpower to stop snacking throughout the day - usually when I’m out it’s not a problem but being at home all day is so different ...I’m just hopeless!! ?

I hope all GNs have the best day they can and enjoy whatever the day brings

Stay safe everyone ?

NannyJan53 Mon 13-Apr-20 08:14:32

Good Morning from a bright and windy Black Country. It obviously rained overnight, but the garden did need it.

It was lovely seeing all the family on FB messenger last night. Even Mum can join in as she has the FB Portal and it is easy for her to use. Just press the button when someone calls. Just glad my brother arranged for her to have WiFi a couple of years ago (so she could use I Player)

Today we are having a Zoom call with partners twin daughters. One lives in London, the other in Bristol.

We had chicken last night, so I am boiling the carcass to make soup. Then make a Brack Tea Loaf. I cannot eat too many chewy food now as my tooth is tender and terrified of making it worse.

Leftover chicken with salad tonight.

Take care everyone, and special hugs to anyone who is feeling a little down at the moment. Hopefully we can all get through this together.

Morning All

Overcast and chillier here in the north of Norfolk so a day in. May start on that jigsaw of a map of Norwich streets I was bought for Christmas.

Taken from a friends timeline, thought it was great:

I'm normally a social girl
I love to meet my mates
But lately with the virus here
We can't go out the gates.

You see, we are the 'oldies' now
We need to stay inside
If they haven't seen us for a while
They'll think we've upped and died.

They'll never know the things we did
Before we got this old
There wasn't any Facebook
So not everything was told.

We may seem, sweet old ladies,
Who would never be uncouth
But we grew up in the 60s -
If you only knew the truth!

There was sex and drugs and rock 'n roll
The pill and miniskirts
We smoked, we drank, we partied
And were quite outrageous flirts.

Then we settled down, got married
And turned into someone's mum,
Somebody's wife, then nana,
Who on earth did we become?

We didn't mind the change of pace
Because our lives were full
But to bury us before we're dead
Is like a red rag to a bull!

So here you find me stuck inside
For 4 weeks, maybe more
I finally found myself again
Then I had to close the door!

It didn't really bother me
I'd while away the hour
I'd bake for all the family
But I've got no bloody flour!

Now Netflix is just wonderful
I like a gutsy thriller
I'm swooning over Idris
Or some random sexy killer.

At least I've got a stash of booze
For when I'm being idle
There's wine and whiskey, even gin
If I'm feeling suicidal!

So let's all drink to lockdown
To recovery and health
And hope this bloody virus
Doesn't decimate our wealth.

We'll all get through the crisis
And be back to join our mates
Just hoping I'm not far too wide
To fit through the flaming gates!

Brilliant. Says it all, nfkDumpling. ??

Good morning, Michael and all GNs. A dull old day in South Yorkshire, and cool. We had thunder yesterday and heavy rain for a while. Not sure what we have planned for today; I am supposed to be making a curry with chicken I have take out of the freezer. At the moment, I just don’t want to get out of bed! Face times with both the children yesterday cheered us up. Have the best day you can, folks!

Greyduster Mon 13-Apr-20 08:32:15

Love it NfK! Spot on!
