It was interesting that the first question from a member of the public was from a grandmother, from Skipton, asking when she would be able to hug her grandchildren.

I wonder if she's on Gransnet hmm

Yes. I heard it.

It's good that they're taking questions from the general public but I wish they'd have more than one, and fewer from journalists.

Riverwalk I was just going to post re The first public question by Lynn from Skipton

I felt she was asking on behalf of
the grandparents from around the world not just in the UK?

I hope children don't return to school until September with the children's bug threatening now.

Ellianne Mon 27-Apr-20 18:05:08

I agree Ellan. September is a far better bet for the return to school.

Ofsted have said the best place for children is at school. Well, they would...
I think the best place is where they are safest.
I think we should wait until they can go back properly.
I think going back piecemeal would be more disruptive.

I dont want children going back to school if they have to interract in a deeply unnatural way: from 2m apart, terrified if touch/contact.

I think it would be socially/psychologically safer for them to stay off until they can mix naturally/normally.

However the big contradiction in all of this is that keyworkers children have been playing together "normally" all along. But once schools reopen properly they have to stay 2ms apart and cant hold hands etc???

Lynn from Skipton certainly asked what I wanted to know.
We loved how Hancock dealt with Peston's drawling question!
